Thanks to witchmountain for the last thread and to dadx3 for Godfathering them! Also to any other posters whose ideas I have borrowed for the title.

Though of course she is! I'm not sure that casual sex is such a good idea for both sexes..

I feel the same way about marriage ppeatfruit Grin

Given how fertile Helen is, there could be a couple of surprises for Tom in the summer.

witchmountain · 25/11/2018 14:33

The problem with Sunday's edition is that it's not complete, they do miss bits out to make it the requisite 1 hour 13mins.

I don't think that's right ppeat. Each episode is 13 mins long, including music which takes up about 25 secs as either end, I've just checked on the podcast, so in fact they are more like just over 12 mins. 12 x 6 = 72, or 1 hr 12 min, and the omnibus slot is 1hr 15 mins, a bit of which is taken up by music and the continuity announcer.

She's only 'easy' if you consider that sex is something that women should be holding back. Not a view I hold. Birds I feel the same about marriage, it has as many pitfalls as casual sex!

KayM2 · 25/11/2018 14:38

And people say that the Archers is fluffy , unrealistic stuff! Still!

That used to be true when they tried to fit everything into an hour, but I don't think it's true any more, is it? 6 x 12 = 72 = 1hr 12m.

birds Having it off on Hampstead Heath with a stranger is not like getting married is it? Iam applying those sentiments to ALL sexes btw.

No, it’s much easier to walk away from and I do wish I’d been having casual sex on the Heath rather than getting married when I did.

Fink · 25/11/2018 15:56

I'm fairly sure they don't edit the omnibus down anymore, it's just a direct compilation of the 6 episodes.

Tom doesn't call Natasha 'easy' outright. He says 'it was so easy with you', the implication that she is 'easy' was more in the conversation with Johnny- the insistence that it didn't mean anything. I don't know that Tom actually thinks it, he's just really bad at expressing himself.

witchmountain · 25/11/2018 16:16

Yes and Hannah was the one who insisted it all meant nothing in the first place.

birdsdestiny · 25/11/2018 16:59

I have never been to Hampstead Heath but if I could timetravel I would certainly tell the many women I know currently clearing up the mess of an awful marriage, that a quick shag would be much less damaging.

JessieMcJessie · 25/11/2018 17:06

I don’t think that there are many women having it off with strangers on Hampstead Heath!

However not sure how we got to the Hampstead Heath imagery to be honest- casual sex doesn’t have to be seedy. Hannah may be a piece of work but I have no issue with her attitude to casual sex and FWB. (She is clearly not as blasé about FWB as she thinks she is, but that’s not to say it is always a bad idea).

MrsLandingham · 25/11/2018 17:30

They don't edit down the omnibus any more since the episodes went to 12 minutes.

It used to be a game to spot which scenes had been cut on Sunday morning Smile

witchmountain · 25/11/2018 18:23

I thought I’d overlook that, lest we had to talk about statistics Halloween Grin

birdsdestiny · 25/11/2018 18:45

I thought I had missed out on something Smile

KayM2 · 25/11/2018 19:23

I reckon that Lily might " take a year out", extended indefinitely, a nd return home to pick up the work done by thingummy. Being a bit disillusioned with her current squeeze. Thus creating a future storyline where Lily is successfully running the place, and her brother " inherits". I seem to remember that that was the way their father intended things to go, Freddie inheriting, I mean.

DadDadDad · 25/11/2018 19:43

Just checking my facts: wasn't Ben driving on public roads when he hit the badger? If so he's more accomplished as a liar than as a driver.

Fink · 25/11/2018 19:52

Yes, I'm fairly sure they were on a public road when they hit the badger (Ruairi was teasing Ben for driving too cautiously, which he wouldn't have been if they'd been back on farm land).

DadDadDad · 25/11/2018 21:26

So it’s sad that not only did Ben lie to his grandma, but he made her feel like she could trust him with that “you see right through me” line. And we suspect Lily lied to her earlier in the week. Poor Jill.

R4 · 25/11/2018 21:59

Poor Jill.
I know, And she told Ben not to spoil Bess but the moment her back was turned he let the dog in from the yard and fed it titbits. Oh, hang on a minute ...

Don't all adolescents lie at some stage or another? It's hardwired into them.

Fink · 26/11/2018 05:43

Wasn't it Jill who let the dog in behind Ben's back, R4? I didn't hear that he also did the same, was it before or after she had?

Tangarine · 26/11/2018 08:01

My interpretation of last night’s episode was that Ben said that he wasn’t responsible for the pick up in the ditch last week (didn’t Harrison say they had caught the culprits?), but he did confess to his previous joy riding. And I think Jill let Bess in and fed her.

R4 · 26/11/2018 08:33

[irony on] Oh, hang on a minute ... [/irony off]
The point being that 'poor Jill' has lapses, too.

DadDadDad · 26/11/2018 08:34

I think R4 was being sarcastic in response to my "Poor Jill", thinking I'd be suckered by her sweet old granny persona. Blush
