And there’s some rubbish about an ex-stripper policeman?

Impossible not to hate him!

newtlover · 24/08/2018 19:13

Susan is quite shameless

Eastpoint · 24/08/2018 19:16

Oh Lily!

Gruach · 24/08/2018 19:16

Just what is Elizabeth’s heart doing right now?

newtlover · 24/08/2018 19:17

blimey!

newtlover · 24/08/2018 19:17

oh yes, she has a dodgy heart, doesn't she

R4 · 24/08/2018 19:22

Oh, I do love Susan. To paraphrase:
"I have a position to upkeep in this village. I can't risk people finding out that ... I have a sense of humour"

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/08/2018 19:25

Now THAT was a good episode!

And yy love Susan. Always beautifully acted and true to character.

Exexexcel · 24/08/2018 19:26

Fair play to Lily, seeing an opportunity to break the news - and taking it.

ZeroFuchsiasGiven · 24/08/2018 19:28

GrinGrinGrinGrin I wonder if LL has a defibrillator. Every public building should have one. (That would make a good SL, if any SWs are lurking.)

Also Susan: Oh no, if Lynda finds out, it'll be all round the village by the end of the day!

Lovely pot/kettle black line there.

Gruach · 24/08/2018 19:29

I did love the way her voice and demeanour changed when she started talking about ‘Mr Jones’. I actually believed what she was feeling!

Peartree17 · 24/08/2018 19:33

Well, I enjoyed that. Two revelations/crises in one episode. Great. And good for Fallon. Finally, the most boring couple in the soap world generate a bit of dramatic interest.

High time, script writers. You have kept feeding us cack for waaaaaay too long. Now, if you can crack on with the Home Farm story line asap as well, I'd be grateful.

laptopdisaster · 24/08/2018 19:36

I missed it and lowfield is down! what happened?

BikingBeatrix · 24/08/2018 19:37

Elizabeth had her dodgy heart valve replaced. I don’t know if she still gets check ups - l don’t suppose it’d be more than annually if at all now - but l’d reckon she has no more chance of keeling over than the rest of us these days.

laptopdisaster · 24/08/2018 19:38

was it childhood congenital heart disease? As the first cohorts who were operated on grow up to adulthood it is becoming known that they do have an increased risk of dropping dead.

witchmountain · 24/08/2018 19:40

You’ll have to listen laptop, it was very well acted.

Peartree17 · 24/08/2018 19:41

Well - is this allowed?
Fallon went to Susan and said, I know it was you wot nicked the llama, and because Lynda is being such a dog-with-a-bone about it, either you (Susan) 'fess up to her, or I will tell it was you in order to get the Snell off our backs.
And Elizabeth went to the sixth form college to get a character reference for Freddie, met Russ, Russ offered and sent a glowing reference. Elizabeth told Lily about the glowing reference, and Lily confessed to the affair, saying something along the lines of 'So glad you liked him, because we are togevvvvvver, forevvvaah."

Dum, de, dum,de, dum,de, dah....

laptopdisaster · 24/08/2018 19:42

Shock I listen to the omnibus, will look forward to that one all week !!!

Peartree17 · 24/08/2018 19:46

The great thing about the Russ-Elizabeth-Lily interactions was that Russ was plainly trying to charm Elizabeth and Elizabeth was responding. Russ might well want to have a crack at Elizabeth and dump the daughter. (I am seeing Russ as a sort of male Becky Sharp here.)

glamorousgrandmother · 24/08/2018 21:52

The valuable painting was obviously a big part of Lily's attractiveness to Russ.

DadDadDad · 24/08/2018 22:02

Just listened to the episode. I'd forgotten how flesh-crawling Russ is: "I'm honoured that you asked me to write his reference".

Now it's all going to fall apart for Lily surely...

And what's Elizabeth going to do to Russ? (I bet she keeps hold of the miraculous reference though Hmm )

echt · 24/08/2018 22:12

If the affair gets out, the reference will be worthless and Russ will be sacked for writing it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/08/2018 22:41

I'm just waiting for Lizzie to find out Russ is married.

buckingfrolicks · 24/08/2018 22:52

Puts Shula's whinging into perspective. Not that she'll see it that way.

campion · 25/08/2018 01:03

I'd be very grateful for a long break from the Home Farm storyline Peartree17 .
This week has been much better apart from Ruth and the insufferable Pip

Didn't Elizabeth have major surgery after her troublesome offspring were born? And it was a cure, more or less? She's really had some bad luck in her life.
