And there’s some rubbish about an ex-stripper policeman?

Who can forget Shula’s hit like a verger

witchmountain · 16/08/2018 13:36

Ooh, can I have first go in the Palace of Sympathy? I hope one of the staff can bring me lunch because I'm having the kind of day where opening the fridge and putting food on a plate is too hard.

Who can forget Shula’s hit like a verger

I was thinking of her early hit "The Gambler" followed by her cover version of "Love Don't Live Here Anymore"!

DadDadDad · 16/08/2018 13:58

Or "Mama, don't preach"

notaswarmtomorrow · 16/08/2018 14:20

Sorry I don't usually contribute to these threads but love reading them! Have missed a couple of episodes but just caught today's lunchtime one with Alistair getting lynched by Jill - am I right in thinking he has gone back to gambling again? Cannot believe they are being so horrid to him for that, not thinking he might need help. Love that Jazzer offered up his room, he would never be judgemental. Has Alistair done something else awful that I have missed?

OMG! Namaste - that would be the best thing in the whole history of the world!

Slim chance though ...

Gruach · 16/08/2018 15:04

... as he’s likely to leave it to Dan.

TigerTeatimes · 16/08/2018 15:34

Love everything you wrote c8h1 I couldn't actually bear it when Shula refused to listen to Alistair's attempt to explain.

I'm still struggling to sympathise with her in the slightest. I feel like she's chucked their marriage away because she didn't get her own way about a later life gap yah. She should bugger off to SA with Freddie. They can play tiny violins to each other and mope.

Love Jazzer just so much right now.

CraicMammy · 16/08/2018 15:39

I’d love Jazzer to get Jim’s house! Imagine how annoyed Emmur n Ed would be

TigerTeatimes · 16/08/2018 15:41

Oh yes, and Pip - I know babies are awkward plot devices, but anyone else think she's just a terrible mother so far?

Never actually with her newborn, then the few times she is she wakes her up being a stroppy so and so. And as for. She won't be hungry I've just fed her - erm not even slightly true. My youngest was attached to me round the clock for the first few months.
She cares more about the cows and outdoing Josh - it's totally fair to want to still be your own person but I think she's just vile. (Oh, I guess I did anyway Grin)

Gruach · 16/08/2018 15:42

... Although. Dan has (had?) Mark’s parents to inherit from, as well as Shula. (And presumably Alistair will still think of him as his son. So, really, given Jim’s fondness for justice and morality etc, etc, he may well feel that it Jazzer’s domestic situation should be secured against accident.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 16/08/2018 15:59

Well it would certainly make Emma's day if Jazzer was to inherit a little three bedroom house....

ADarkandStormyKnight · 16/08/2018 16:02

Dan will be fine. He inherits from Mark, Shula and (probably) Alistair and none of them had any other children.

Gruach · 16/08/2018 16:16

But I have always assumed Oliver would leave Grange Farm to Ed. (So I’ve struggled to care overmuch about the affordable housing. They just have to sit tight ...)

ADarkandStormyKnight · 16/08/2018 16:37

Oliver has daughter(s), though.

MissVanjie · 16/08/2018 16:43

I have loved jazzer for years and years now, he is a total babe (in my mind) and I long for a storyline where he ends up winning rather than being a har de har punchline chump. he is genuinely kind and generous, he never has a bad word to say about anyone. being bridesman while the woman he still carries a torch for marries someone else made my eyes leak a bit. he deserves all the luck and good things #justiceforjazzer

Gruach · 16/08/2018 16:48

Yeah ... But no ... But ... The SWs have never managed to put either of them on a plane to Ambridge. What use is a farm/house in a country you never visit? And Oliver’s in the same position as Jim - he’d have to make his tenants homeless if he left the house to his offspring. (This is the ridiculous mess SOC got them all into with the flood ...)

Is Jazzer just a lodger?

Gruach · 16/08/2018 16:50

I agree MissV! I worry for Jazzer’s aging bones out in the cold and wet every day with no prospect of any greater comfort.

MissVanjie · 16/08/2018 17:08

I would comfort jazzer till the cows come home tbh, I bet he's filthy

MissVanjie · 16/08/2018 17:09

..and I aint talking about pigshit neither

LassWiADelicateAir · 16/08/2018 17:58

Why would Dan expect to inherit anything from Jim? Leaving the house to Jazzer or even Jazzer and Alistair would be nice.

I'm struggling to have any sympathy for Shula.

BikingBeatrix · 16/08/2018 18:42

Doesn’t Alistair have a silent sister? In which case that complicates the inheritance thing, but l agree otherwise. #justice for Jazzer - and Alistair and Toby. And piss off with the cows Pip, Jill, Shula. Jill is being a right cow these days anyway. Not sure how l feel about Freddie - he has been a very naughty boy.

birdsdestiny · 16/08/2018 18:46

Oh I think Jazzer would be rubbish in bed he talks too much about his prowess with women.
The fact I have thought about this at all is worrying.

Minimammoth · 16/08/2018 19:01

I’m afraid, I imagine Jazzer would be sweaty and er limp.Grin
