Enjoy!

OP posts:
MoominFlaps · 09/06/2017 09:40

I'm going to make myself a pariah but here goes....

I don't like Kirsty (find her voice very irritating)

I quite like Toby.

I'm on Tom's side re the money thing, but then I would never turn down a million quid Blush

ppeatfruit · 09/06/2017 09:43

Moomin I'd turn down a million if it would mean I'd get 2 million!

TheAntiBoop · 09/06/2017 10:30

Once they've sold it they have zero control over what he builds on it. He says houses....

Although I am surprised that Justin is so happy to shit on his own doorstep

R4 · 09/06/2017 11:04

It's not his doorstep, though, is it. It's Lillian's.
He could easily move to somewhere local that is not in danger of being Route-B'd (these things never really go away, they just lie dormant). Or somewhere in a totally different part of the UK please.

TheAntiBoop · 09/06/2017 11:12

But he made the big fuss about wanting to live in the village etc etc. He strikes me as someone who wouldn't want to live near a mega piggery or housing estate and who wants people to admire him

R4 · 09/06/2017 11:20

But he made the big fuss about wanting to live in the village etc etc.

He knows that he is not liked, despite Lil. In fact, he is a laughing stock because of Lil (after the proposal rejection). I bet that he could easily persuade her to relocate to Guernsey, Costa Rica or anywhere a bit more cosmopolitan than Ambridge.

TheAntiBoop · 09/06/2017 11:46

i guess i find it implausible that given his position at demure he is so hands on and local

ppeatfruit · 09/06/2017 11:58

Poor Freddie he's obviously got the maths equivalent of dyslexia. Lizzie is stupid to not try and find the cause of his problem with maths.

Does anyone else wonder if Freddie is going to turn out to be gay?

Ceto · 09/06/2017 12:05

Agreed - I was thinking dyscalculia ages ago.

R4 · 09/06/2017 12:06

Freddie had tutoring from Ifti, and he didn't mention dyscalculia or the like.
Doesn't Freedie have to be straight so that he can produce the next Heir of Lower Loxley.

Ceto · 09/06/2017 12:06

Didn't we think Ben was going to be the gay member of the next generation, given that they've been flagging up his liking for old films? It's a matter of time before they start playing "Meet Me in St Louis" in the background when he's mentioned.

Ceto · 09/06/2017 12:08

Tonight could be interesting. They probably wrote different script inserts reflecting Conservative or Labour wins but it would have been very prescient to write one for a hung Parliament. Maybe Keri is sweating over it as I type.

R4 · 09/06/2017 12:11

Nah, they wrote the topical insert six weeks ago. They may not have known the national result but it was a foregone conclusion that Hollerton & district would be Blue.

TheAntiBoop · 09/06/2017 12:14

i just hope they don't mention it at all. i'm sick of the aggressive nature of politics in this country and don't want to have to listen to a fictional characters view on it tbh!

ppeatfruit · 09/06/2017 13:05

Ifti may not have known the signs. he was wrong not to get Freddie tested for dyscalculia as was his school.
R4 people are not so hung up about passing on the 'name' now through the male line. It could be Lily.

CeciledeVolanges · 09/06/2017 13:20

Sycamore, it would be CGT not income, unless a corporation owns the land in which case it would be corporation tax.

EBearhug · 09/06/2017 13:25

I very much enjoyed Freddy's SL last night, but I thought the way he was written/acted was OTT. He came across as a bit of a tosser, and I don't want him to be a tosser.

He's 17. Most 17yos have a bit if a tosser streak. Some grow out of it, others develop it. I can live with it now, if he grows out of it.

Mind you, someone has to inherit the gorilla suit-wearing tendencies.

ppeatfruit · 09/06/2017 13:31

Exactly Ebear Grin A great many 17yr. olds are lacking common sense! He may grow out of it eventually (Nigel took quite a while Grin )

I had a thought - what if Justin doesn't really want to build affordable homes, but would use that to get the land marked as "for housing" on the local plan and then build himself a mansion? Maybe with some working bit to get around restrictions, and it must tie in with the woodland opposite.

ppeatfruit · 09/06/2017 13:40

Unless he had the planning committee in his pocket there's no way he could do that mummy.

I know of someone who built a semi mansion and 'hid' it behind trees and a wall etc. He had to take it all down when the 'secret' was revealed.

R4 · 09/06/2017 13:55

Maybe with some working bit to get around restrictions

Easily done. A bloke from Birmingham bought a few fields further up the road from us. He built himself a house because he was "employed in agricultural and needed to be on site", despite the fact that he could have bought one of the houses in the little mini-estate slap bang opposite.
It would have to have an Agricultural Occupancy restriction but Justin would probably apply to have it removed after a suitable period of time.

mummytime · 09/06/2017 13:55

Was that the "Castle/Tudor" house?
Justin has been written as if he is in control of planning before.

TheAntiBoop · 09/06/2017 13:55

i reckon he wants to build a landfill there.....

MikeUniformMike · 09/06/2017 13:56

Tom and Helen are both awful. Fridge Farm would not sell the land as it is like golddust. Tom is a dick and is an impostor. Bring back the real Tom Archer.
