Pip and Brookfield nauseating as ever. When, oh when, is Josh going to say, "The reason we're in the financial doo is because of your persistent lies, you stupid caah, so just go fuck yourself. " I really hope he scores big with his business, sticks two fingers up at his idiot parents and buggers off. But none of that will happen.

Have been switching off when the Fag Ash/Justin scenes come on. Too grim. But NBS' last column nailed Lillian, I think ' born to be a gangster's moll". Tells you everything you need to know about Fag Ash's need for excitement and the thrill of the bad boy.

The mess is everyone's responsibility, isn't it?

David bought cows without proper due diligence.
Ruth, co-owner and Wonder Cow Woman, didn't spot this.?was in NZ?
Josh broke some fence or something similar (sorry, memory hazy here) and managed to wriggle out of mending it, passing the job on to Pip.
Pip didn't mend fence, had a memory blackout and then took an age to fess up.

Ben and Jill are the only ones in the clear.

Lancelottie · 05/06/2017 11:53

Ben probably tunnelled out of the farm months ago. Maybe that's what made the fence fall down.

mummytime · 05/06/2017 12:17

Pip I am just hoping is being set up to run off somewhere - she still doesn't get how Rex felt about her, and how he feels now. I do wonder if we will end up with a scene where he knocks her back for Anisha or something. Then maybe she can leave the farm for a few years (New Zealand is nice).
Lilian and Justin - the interesting part is that Justin is not being honest with her. He hasn't told her anything about his plans for the land from Bridge Farm etc. I do hope we get Anthea back and she lets Lilian know what is going on.

Cromwell1536 · 05/06/2017 12:23

But the additional financial impact is Pip's fault, because she didn't immediately notify the other owners that the cows were out. Which, if I understand it right (from this thread, admittedly!) would have enabled everyone to vaccinate/isolate/have the cows gargle with TCP/whatever and greatly mitigated the impact. Plus, she weakened Brookfield's negotiating position by allowing her parents to go shouting around the county about how it couldn't possibly be, no they never had any breach, not them, no sirree, and I'll sue anyone who says different.

TheAntiBoop · 05/06/2017 12:34

Whilst Josh broke the fence it was pip who took on the responsibility of fixing it and so she is ultimately responsible for the other herds getting IBR. And that is where the huge cost comes from. If it had been contained in their farm they wouldn't be in such a mess.

However, if a fence is broken why would the cows be left in that field until it is fixed?

ppeatfruit · 05/06/2017 13:35

It's a guarantee that husband or no husband Anthea will fall for Justin in a big way and will end up by being the opposite of Lil's mole.

Is Rex frightened of Pip now she's free? What was David implying , that darling Pip is frustrated in her missing Toby? Grin

The mess is everyone's responsibility, isn't it?

I don't really think so - Ruth should be able to trust David to do basic paperwork without checking his homework. Its his farm after all, she effectively works for him rather than they other way around.

I thought Josh offered to mend the fence but Pip said she would do it? Maybe not but either way she explicitly said she would do it and he should leave it.

David cocked up but Pip is they reason they are facing such massive bills.

mummytime · 05/06/2017 14:21

I think Anthea falling for Justin would a be a total character change for her. And would be the kind of thing to make me really cross.

And I'm sure she is being brought back if only for those occasional wistful moments of Maurice's unrequited passion for her (in otherwise boring plots).

TheAntiBoop · 05/06/2017 14:51

Can someone explain to me why the cows were put in broken fence field at all? Whoever put them in should have ensured the perimeter was secure first surely?

EBearhug · 05/06/2017 17:30

It might not have been broken initially - if the field was by a road, it's not unknown for people to drive into fences and then drive of without saying anything. But otherwise - yes, you wouldn't normally.

I think Rex is avoiding Pip because he knows how Toby feels, and unlike Toby, isn't just going to jump in - he was the one going on about the Bro code when Toby first got with Pip, wasn't he?

Ceto · 05/06/2017 17:30

I assume the idea was that Pip would repair the fence quickly, hence no need to move the cows.

TheAntiBoop · 05/06/2017 18:05

I just find it odd they would leave cows there with a known broken fence

R4 · 05/06/2017 19:26

I loathe Anisha. Why does she have to be mega-competitive, and unpleasantly so, about unimportant things?

But yay! for the return of Anthea. I'm hoping that Lilian regrets it!Grin

GrumpyOldBag · 05/06/2017 19:58

I enjoyed Freddy's argument with his Mum about exams, revision & phones. Very similar to what's going on in this household at the moment!

mummytime · 05/06/2017 20:18

Nope I'm still hoping Anthea lets stuff slip to Lilian. So Lilian sees the other side of Justin - and has to choose between her loyalty to him or the village and family.
Then maybe she can manipulate his downfall.

dairyfarmerswife · 05/06/2017 20:20

It is certainly part of the protocol here when moving cows to a new paddock that the fence and water trough are checked. I think Josh had damaged the fence and Pip had offered to mend it for him, but it's so long ago that I've forgotten how he damaged it and why he convinced Pip to mend it.

TheAntiBoop · 05/06/2017 20:43

Josh turns up and wants a favour; can Pip help with staking up a fence? Josh offers to do a milking shift in return.

That's all I can find on lowfield on 15 Feb but not sure when they escaped - so I'm assuming it wasn't a broken fence but a weak fence. That would explain it I guess

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/06/2017 21:23

I want to know what Matt's up to. Fairly certain he's plotting Justin's downfall.

mummytime · 05/06/2017 21:26

Okay maybe Anthea will tell Matt something? I can't remember her attitude to Matt in the past.

EBearhug · 06/06/2017 01:01

I think Josh had damaged the fence and Pip had offered to mend it for him

Oh yeah, didn't he smash the quad bike into it or something?

Gruach · 06/06/2017 07:34

I want to know what Matt's up to. Fairly certain he's plotting Justin's downfall.

And vice versa!

Imbroglio · 06/06/2017 07:59

Hurray for Rex and Anisha.

I sincerely hope that this doesn't end up as Pip realising that Rex is the one and wining him over.

I had to laugh last night because Justin sounded to me just like 'ole Uncle Walter" He's embracing his inner yokel. Grin

Rex would be right for Pip.

Blimey you lot, the TA sws can't win, Anisha's a woman with personality, a high status career, an all rounder, obviously heavy duty qualifications. You do need to be full on to 'get on' and she is.
