So when Justin was expressing his surprise that Helen was at the meeting he almost let slip his offer to Tony/Pat? He hasn't told Lillian about the housing proposal then.

I thought the final comment about "getting what you want" could equally be applied to Lillian herself (Anthea).

JigglyTuff · 04/06/2017 11:45

Christ Pip is thick isn't she? But I want to be friends, Tobeeee!

I'd hoped we'd hear less of her since she moved out. That scene with her laughing with her YF friends was quite disturbing

Gruach · 04/06/2017 11:53

Do no one else is Shock about Brian's reaction to Pip's makeover?

Vango · 04/06/2017 12:07

I cringed a bit Gruach but was glad that the SWs have remembered that Brian's not always been the perfect husband and father!

Ceto · 04/06/2017 14:03

I always feel it's a bit off when Pip addresses Kenton as Kenton. Uncle Kenton, surely?

Ceto · 04/06/2017 14:05

I thought that Justin was surprised Helen was there because he felt that Pat and Tony should be trying to keep him sweet in relation to the offer for the land. But if anything it is he who needs to be nice to them, given that Tony gave no inkling that he is willing to sell.

Ah yes, and the delightful way she bragged to Toby about having an enormous room, ensuite and all the LL luxuries whilst he is sharing a bedroom at Bert's. Such a charming considerate girl - I actually felt sympathy for Toby despite him being a pillock.

And the equally charming way she was bitching about Josh and OFS behind his back along with the 'I'll do extra milking shifts for money if Josh pulls his weight'. That sounded to me like 'I'll swap work on Brookfield for paid milking elsewhere and Josh can do the extra work covering for me'.

Is Josh actually getting paid to work at Brookfield? I vaguely remember an agreement whereby he deferred Uni for a year to start his business and got board and lodging in return. I don't remember any payment involved and previously D&R have mentioned they could only pay one full time farmworker.

Pip has apparently forgotten all that free board and lodging when she was at Uni.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 04/06/2017 20:06

What the hell is going on with the SWs?

We want less bloody Pip not more. Same for Justin and Lil.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 04/06/2017 20:10

Well that was utterly tedious.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 04/06/2017 20:14

An entire episode split between Brookfield and Justin and Lil. Ruth and David plumbed new lows of idiocy.

C8H10N4O2 · 04/06/2017 20:39

Ruth and David plumbed new lows of idiocy.

This evening was so nauseatingly a Pip love in that I wondered if the LSWs are setting her up for a massive fall.

Or possibly provoking the argument which results in Josh telling them all to continue worshiping goldenPips because he is buggering off. I can think of no other reason for them to be sucking up to her outrageously and letter her rubbish Josh at every opportunity.

IAmNotAUserNumber · 04/06/2017 21:43

Have I missed a vital episode? An episode in which it turned out that IBR and Brookfield being in financial shit was ALL the fault of Josh, and Pip an innocent victim? I think I must have done because otherwise Pip's constant digs about Josh not pulling his weight just don't make sense Hmm
Does she have any redeeming points?

R4 · 04/06/2017 21:47

At least Pip talks about Josh. Ben seems to have fallen off the planet and nobody has noticed.

C8H10N4O2 · 04/06/2017 22:35

Ben seems to have fallen off the planet and nobody has noticed.

If only the same could be said of the nauseating Henwee.

Ben is busy in his bedroom, hacking into the Pentagon and undermining the capitalist basis of The Free World whilst the idiots kiss goldenPip's feet.

EBearhug · 04/06/2017 22:45

Pip did mention Ben - when she was talking to... Rex, possibly, about how Freddie will inherit LL, and isn't so keen on it, and he pointed our she'll get Brookfield and she said not necessarily, she could go off and do something else and Josh or Ben could take it on. She did also add that she doesn't want to go elsewhere, so don't get your hopes up.

JessieMcJessie · 04/06/2017 23:49

Did Anthea always have a husband? I thought there was some undercurrent of potential romance with Miserable Maurice the butcher.

Minimammoth · 05/06/2017 07:33

How old is Ben now? most farm children in this area are driving tractors, rearing chickens, delivering lambs and generally working with their parents, from 10 upwards.

I think Ben is 13 - didn't they mention his age recently when he was being bullied at school because of IBR?

Imbroglio · 05/06/2017 08:10

It's making me feel very uncomfortable how R&D allow Pip to snip away at Josh and about Josh and say nothing.

I was shouting at the radio when Pip said "someone's to go make some money round here" as if no-one else was doing anything productive whatsoever. And she conveniently forgets that when she was Josh's age she was at university and contributing very little to the farm during termtime. Also annoyed that she's filling her face with Jill's food without apparently feeling it necessary to apologise to her.

And she's so blatantly going after Rex to try to bring Toby back to heel. I hope he has the sense to keep well away.

Imbroglio · 05/06/2017 08:23

The Toby storyline is just tedious. No 'spark' between them now all this mooning about. I find myself withing Toby would just go back to Brighton.

LillianGish · 05/06/2017 08:44

Come on - MN predicted this storyline months (if not years) back. Pip splits with Toby and gets together with Rex. Pip is the future of Brookfield (that's been made quite clear In various interviews however that may make our hearts sink) - she's not named after Phil Archer for nothing and once she gets together with Rex, an Archer and a Fairbrother will be together at Brookfield again. If only they'd cast a better Pip - she's not growing on me.

TheAntiBoop · 05/06/2017 08:44

Huge canoe has lost my goodwill with all this pip and Justin crap

Doesn't seem to be his own man
