Along with Chris who hadn't spoken for years?
...If you don't include a month or two ago, that is.

To change the subject; Matt's hypocrital lying confession to Brine about Lil's affair with his 'brother' ( "the 2 people closest to me") WTF? He hated Paul, his HALF brother, and had no relationship at all with him if I remember correctly.

He also would've got his leg over with that floosie on the board of BL If Lil hadn't interrupted them.

mummytime · 27/04/2017 11:05

Matt was being extremely manipulative.
I'm not sure he was after scamming Brian, although wouldn't be adverse to a bit of that, after all Brian helped push him out of BL didn't he? I'm wondering if he is after getting some of Justin's money?
It does all sound very dodgy to me.

ppeatfruit · 27/04/2017 11:28

Yes and the brass cheek of the man after what he did to Lil to even turn up in AMB. let alone do everyone a favour by asking then to loose their money in his "Coster Reekah " affair!

Costa effin fortune Grin

C8H10N4O2 · 27/04/2017 12:25

I'm not sure he was after scamming Brian,

As soon as he said 'its out of your league' I assumed that is exactly what he was doing although I wouldn't expect that tactic to work with Brian. If I were Brian and introducing Matt to contacts I'd be doing it with a health warning.

TheAntiBoop · 27/04/2017 13:15

He's totally trying to scam Brian!! 12% return and a racetrack in Costa Rica. Not suspicious at all

ppeatfruit · 27/04/2017 14:31

Why didn't Brine say as soon as he caught sight of Matt, "I have a 2 oclock appointment". Or whenever. Then walk straight of the door?

picklemepopcorn · 27/04/2017 16:15

Totally trying to lure Brian. Disappointed Brian listened. With the overextension because of the land, he is a bit vulnerable.
Brookfield definitely looking precarious...

Think I must not listen closely enough, I didn't hear anything that said Pip would inherit everything at Josh and Ben's expense, or that Usha knew what Pip did. MUST PAY ATTENTION...

ppeatfruit · 27/04/2017 16:24

R & D just said that Pip is the future of Brookfield, they never mentioned inheritances. I suppose it was just a figure of speech. I asssumed that Roof told Usha, I don't remember her doing it either.

Sometimes the cast speak very quietly and I miss things!

Abraiid2 · 27/04/2017 16:40

Wouldn't Usha ask why there'd been a bust up and they weren't talking and why Ruth was so angry with Pip?

GrumpyOldBag · 27/04/2017 19:04

Could Pip's overacting get any worse?

Stickerrocks · 27/04/2017 19:08

Chris speaks!

SnickersWasAHorse · 27/04/2017 19:12

Now I will confess that I've not read the thread so sorry if this has been suggested but........
I think Justin will drop down dead, heart attack or some such, and Lillian will be left fighting Miranda for Justin's assets.
She doesn't really have much of a claim to them but she feels she does.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/04/2017 19:23

Alice is astonishingly annoying.

I don't think Lilian could claim a penny of Justin's money if they weren't married. Is it possible the divorce could go through without the financial details being resolved first? Then J and L marry, J drops dead on the first night of the honeymoon, L inherits everything as his wife but M is still fighting for her share of J's assets and in the end L gets diddlysquat.

I've always wanted a juicy divorce in Ambridge but I wanted it to be between two people we knew and cared about, e.g. Brian and Jennifer or David and Ruth. Justin and Miranda - meh. Blow-ins.

even if justin died very shortly after the marriage I would think Miranda would have a good claim on most of his assets

I missed the first few mins but was Alice recounting a story where she was sexually harassed in the workplace and got into trouble for emailing someone about it? Nothing about the unacceptability of the harassment Hmm

And listening to Alice tonight was like listening to a vocal version of FB where my only friends are teenage girls. I bet she instagrams all Chris's dinners and says "feeling blessed" and "wine o'clock"

IAmNotAUserNumber · 27/04/2017 19:44

Francis in England you won't get decree absolute until the financials (and children stuff) is settled - so sounds the same as Scotland.

IAmNotAUserNumber · 27/04/2017 19:46

Miranda could use adultery for her reason but Justin would have to admit to it - which he probably will as he's so keen to get divorced. Otherwise it will have to be unreasonable behaviour.

GrumpyOldBag · 27/04/2017 20:04

if justin died very shortly after the marriage I would think Miranda would have a good claim on most of his assets

The divorce agreement would have to come before they could marry though, and they would need to reach a financial settlement.

However, marriage invalidates a will and so Lilian would get everything (if he hadn't made a will). The bad outcome for Lilian would be if Justin died before the divorce & remarriage - Miranda would get everything (if it's in his will).

I also think it's absurdly naive of Justin not to have expected Miranda to go for half of everything - they've been married forever haven't they?

redshoeblueshoe · 27/04/2017 20:21

Justin was his usual despicable self tonight. Saying Miranda was basically his secretary, I immediately thought just like Lillian
As for Pip - you'll all be pleased - I have no words Grin

At least after Justin's "secretary" rant, Lil will be under no illusions as to how she'll be treated when Justin trades her in for his next girl in the office.
