Thank you R4 for the title.

OP posts:
Mootsie · 20/03/2017 22:33

Thanks for the pics, dfw. I once had a part time job rearing Fresian calves. Happy days.

Gherkinsmummy · 20/03/2017 22:37

Maybe it's just my friends then; everyone I know is pickling and fermenting

StVincent · 20/03/2017 22:45

Those calves are beautiful, DFW, you must be very proud. I can almost smell their milky breath, awww.

selsigfach · 20/03/2017 23:56

Aww, love the calves!
If I'm right about Tom, I'll be pissed off. I know that Kirsty says she doesn't want a relationship (and that it's not real), but shagging away in Brazil on a jolly when your ex is st home crying over your lost baby is pretty low.

EBearhug · 21/03/2017 00:53

Talia did get a lot of mentions, though...

StVincent · 21/03/2017 09:33

Let's hope she turns up nearby on a placement and sorts the cricket team

Mootsie · 21/03/2017 09:44

Why has Anisha departed to look after ailing parents? Haven't we been through all this with Ruth? Yes, it's a real life issue but what's the point in writing in a character who seems to blast her way through Ambridge only to have her disappear leaving Alistair with all her big ideas - and bills!

LillianGish · 21/03/2017 09:45

I don't think Lillian wants to be stuck with a retired old man!! This. she's said it herself - she's looking for a bit of fun - she doesn't want to wake up one day and find out she's morphed into Peggy nursing Jick. Also, I'm not sure if this is deliberate on behalf of the SWs , but Justin just comes across as so unattractive - I don't see Simon Williams when I hear him I see a red-faced, overweight businessman incapable of being on his own for even a day. The fact that he chucked Miranda after admitting he'd been cheating on her throughout their marriage and then assumed Lilian would immediately be champing at the bit to step into her shoes has to be the biggest turn-off - I'm not sure he can ever come back from that. Now he's asking Brian for advice. Unsurprisingly Jennifer is enthusiastic - after all what Justin is offering is pretty much what she has with Brian. She has no problem looking the other way so probably can't even begin to understand what Lilian's problem might be. Don't do it Lilian. I don't think there's anything Huge Canoe can do with Justin now - knowing what we know about him - that will persuade me to change my mind.

GrumpyOldBag · 21/03/2017 10:01

Mootsie - probably just to cover for the actor being on holiday/working on another project.

redshoeblueshoe · 21/03/2017 10:01

Exactly Lillian. We also only have Justin's word for it that he picked Lillian. I would not be surprised if Miranda had said I'm sick of your flings, see you in court I know someone who stood by her cheating DH for 25 years, then she booted him out.

ppeatfruit · 21/03/2017 10:09

No Lilian of course she doesn't want to be stuck with a retired millionaire who could afford to pay for the best care for himself and HER !!! She is also an elderly person and with her lifestyle being as careless as it is, she could drop from something nasty any time.

At least being married to Justin she'd be in clover.

Gherkinsmummy · 21/03/2017 10:51

Won't Miranda be taking Justin to the cleaners?

LeninaCrowne · 21/03/2017 11:08

Maybe Justin is over-leveraged, and after Miranda takes her share, there won't be much left. I'm guessing Miranda will want the London townhouse and the Swiss Chalet or whatever. Maybe he's looking at the Dower House and Lilian's property portfolio and thinks "I'll have some of that".

LillianGish · 21/03/2017 12:00

a retired millionaire who could afford to pay for the best care for himself and HER !!! you've just described Jick. Lilian doesn't want to be like her mother. In any case I don't see her as a gold-digger. She's not short of cash - she owns the Dower House, runs her own business, lives rent-free in some luxury with her family. It's the utter entitlement on Justin that turns my stomach - it never occurred to him for a moment to thinks what Lilian might want, even now he hasn't got a clue. He's already treating her like he treated his wife - expecting her to fall in with his plan.

Minimammoth · 21/03/2017 12:58

On another note entirely, how many rooms does Lynda actually have to let out. Too much fuss being made of BnB competition I feel.

ppeatfruit · 21/03/2017 13:13

Lynda has one or two at the most I think (I'm not sure). Oh I quite like the silly day to day pettinesses aand competitiveness of the 2 BNB owners , very true to life IMO and IME.

Though the hunt kennels' roof falling in and the cattle disease is a bit OTT in the same week.

LillianGish · 21/03/2017 13:26

I wondered is Shula going to be liable to stump up for repairs to the stable roof in her role as joint master?

ppeatfruit · 21/03/2017 13:32

She'll have to put the hunt members' fees up won't she? (though tbh I know nothing about hunting Grin ).

LillianGish · 21/03/2017 13:34

Me neither. I just remember her having to pay for the privilege of being joint master or whatever her title is and being rather surprised.

mummytime · 21/03/2017 13:40

I was wondering if the Anisha storylines is paving they way for her parents to move to Ambridge. And then to the struggles of working and caring for parents. They could both be in the Laurels at least temporarily.

RedBugMug · 21/03/2017 15:00

lovely cow picks!
cows have such lovely eyes

StVincent · 21/03/2017 15:03

I don't buy that explanation of Anisha's absence. After all they've concealed people like Kathy for years in plain sight haven't they. I'm wondering if this spending lots of money and then buggering off is going back to a bankruptcy story for Alistair though I do hope not. I really like Anisha.

TheAntiBoop · 21/03/2017 16:15

I don't like anisha. But unwound rather she stuck around!

Mean to Jazzer? Well a bit but it was only a bit of fun, plus he obviously was hoping to embarrass her (I imagine there's quite a size difference between an Asian woman and a hulking great pig hand with a large appetite)
