Thank you R4 for the title.

OP posts:

I though most of Ambex took place in Russia. Lil and Matt were there.

LeninaCrowne · 20/03/2017 14:01

To be fair I only listened to a few episodes of it.

Gherkinsmummy · 20/03/2017 14:17

Lilian was like this with Matt too, I certainly remember her cackling laugh and endless gins, and he was married. I think that she prefers the mistress role; Justin gave her self esteem a much needed boost but she's seen for herself the way he treats his wife...

ppeatfruit · 20/03/2017 14:25

I think that Matt was getting divorced when Lil met him. I remember him trying to outwit the lawyers by hiding income offshore or paintings or something.

Lilian is not sympathetic to her partners' exes or her female secretaries. Why should she care if she's marrying cheater? She really shouldn't. Pot and kettle .

Gherkinsmummy · 20/03/2017 14:28

Because she doesn't want to be cheated on?

AuldHeathen · 20/03/2017 14:44

Gruach, you are probably right. I was thinking Ed wouldn't keep Pip's secret but he has demonstrated his honesty in the past. He's certainly more trustworthy than his father (which isn't very hard really).

ppeat, I see what you mean. I think dislike the two of them so much now, I don't really care what happens next. Justin and Lilian that is.

ppeatfruit · 20/03/2017 14:53

Thanks Auld Grin

Though actually, ref. Ed's honesty, this is a situation in which he'll have to tell the correct people. Regardless of Pip's admonition.

AuldHeathen · 20/03/2017 15:00

Yes, I suppose so, though not if they find the infection source elsewhere. I imagine being sure of the source would be quite hard.

TheAntiBoop · 20/03/2017 15:53

If Tony's herd is infected I think ed will feel duty bound to mention the escape. Ed is definitely a man with upstanding morals (except for the shagging his brothers wife)

Justin and lil aren't very sympathetic characters and making Miranda so horrible won't change that

(Off topic - I'm sure I remember a few of you on the hiddleswift thread - I'm sure I just saw him walking down the street - either that or he has a doppelgänger who also wears grey suede shoes)

redshoeblueshoe · 20/03/2017 16:21

Funny that we are relying on Ed to be honest, clearly it won't come from Pip.
Roof & Daveed pleading poverty again, but I thought she got a decent inheritance from her mum.

Well it's not ed's responsibility but he clearly has a stronger moral compass than pip

Maybe she will come clean but if she does I'm sure the scene will end with her stropping over as she 'can't handle it'

TheAntiBoop · 20/03/2017 19:05

Tom seems to have left the limited charisma he had in Brazil

Thank god they've dropped the innovative baby food

Gherkinsmummy · 20/03/2017 19:16

Wouldn't Tom have googled organic baby food - or just gone to a supermarket - and see the shelves groaning with Ella's kitchen, organix, hipp etc. For that matter the fermented foods market is pretty saturated.

TheAntiBoop · 20/03/2017 19:20

He needed an American he met in Brazil to tell him.

I guess the fermented food is still at the faddy end of the scale. I couldn't name a brand.

GrumpyOldBag · 20/03/2017 19:46

Fermented food is a thing, sure, but it's all about fermented vegetables, sauerkraut etc now, not dairy products. Which is just yoghurt basically.

StVincent · 20/03/2017 19:50

I was going to say, haven't they been making yoghurt since forever? So why is Pat all "OOH fermented foods! You clever boy"?

BroomstickOfLove · 20/03/2017 20:03

I think he probably means kefir, which is dairy and fermented. And the trendy faddy fermented veg products use whey for the fermentation, so that would probably work well for the dairy, too.

redshoeblueshoe · 20/03/2017 20:17

We said this about the baby food from the beginning, you can even pick it up in aldi.
I'm hoping Justin comes unstuck tomorrow, but I am enjoying it.

selsigfach · 20/03/2017 20:36

My dog was thoroughly spooked by all the woofing tonight. Tom is totally shagging the Kiwi farmer.

Gherkinsmummy · 20/03/2017 21:37

But fermented foods are really easy to make yourself (dh is a big pickler); we have kefir, saukraut, ginger, kimchee and all sorts on the go. The key benefit of fermentation is gut health/probiotics so brand wise it's yakult etc.

And yeah, totally bonkers in a good way = shagging.

Gherkinsmummy · 20/03/2017 21:37

My dog was freaked too!

dairyfarmerswife · 20/03/2017 22:23

Just popping in with some calf pics before I get called an imposter again... Hoping I can remember how to add pictures...

They are lovely dairyfarmerswife

BroomstickOfLove · 20/03/2017 22:27

Lots of things are easy to make yourself but are still available commercially. Bread, pasta sauce, soup...

And fermentation isn't that easy. It's like sourdough bread or homebrew, and needs a lot of little moments of attention to keep it going. And scrupulous hygiene - I know quite a few people who don't make their own because they worry about botulism.
