Quelle surprise! Rob hasn't FOTTFSOF and is in fact hiding in the bushes at Henwee's school. Discuss the latest unlikely Archers events here.

What do we want?
Realistic storylines!
When do we want them?
As soon as the writers see this!

That's true about the insurance - the vet surgery must have upgraded after the flood

Harrison sounded a lot older than he's supposed to

ErrolTheDragon · 09/02/2017 09:37

Maybe the equipment didn't all get wrecked by the flood?

Harrison must have been aged by the responsibility of running the cricket team.

TheAntiBoop · 09/02/2017 09:40

It surely would have needed a replaster though?

ppeatfruit · 09/02/2017 09:58

I was wondering if Miranda doesn't 'put out' for Justin is not a very 'passionate' woman Grin The opposite of our Lil.

MrsArthurShappey · 09/02/2017 11:16

Archers Mumsnetters I need your help Did I dream this

Can anyone help Olivia

MrsArthurShappey · 09/02/2017 11:31

Lillian's going to love hearing about JD and Brine's cosy coupples night with Justin and Miranda isn't she? What's Justin playing at? Is he trying to deflect as well?

R4 · 09/02/2017 11:38

Can anyone help Olivia

I did start to have a look yesterday but then Advanced Search went "temporarily"Hmm unavailable.

BroomstickOfLove · 09/02/2017 12:28

I had no idea that Lynda Snell was running a B&B. How long has that being going on?

ppeatfruit · 09/02/2017 12:41

For quite a long time Broom It's not a big one, it only seems to have one bedroom ( I may be wrong).

Puremince · 09/02/2017 12:45

How old is Justin? And Miranda? Lillian will be 70 this year, somehow I visualise Miranda as being younger.

LowDudgeon · 09/02/2017 13:03

Avocado, I started to read that yesterday but was immediately floored by "Rob intended to take Jack with him to start a new life in America"

We don't know that! & nobody on TA has wondered it out loud afaik, or if Rob might have tried to get him a passport

SingingAvocado · 09/02/2017 13:12

Yes, good point LowDudgeon. He certainly wouldn't have got a new passport turned round in time if he had always intended to take the flight out on Friday …

TaurielTest · 09/02/2017 13:13

A BOOP point for the nod to mustardland in the Radio Carter reference, and a modest twitch of the gaydar at the mention that the elusive Ben is "more of the arty type".

ErrolTheDragon · 09/02/2017 15:59

Oh - is that why he's been stuck in the closet for the last few years? The SWs probably won't dare bring him out till he's over 18.

Broom - iirc the B&B dates back to when Robert lost his job (in some sort of IT) and they had to generate extra income to keep their large home. I think its mostly his responsibility- making the breakfasts, being the one there to greet arrivals etc while Lynda has the steady job at GG. He does some odd jobbing DIY too.

BroomstickOfLove · 09/02/2017 16:19

That must have happened during a gap when I wasn't listening. I'm shocked because I always assumed that however long you stop listening for, you always catch up very quickly. I knew that he did odd jobs, but vaguely assumed that he was more or less retired.

Cromwell1536 · 09/02/2017 17:02

I enjoyed the 'arty' reference as well. Maybe we're also going to hear that Ben is 'musical'.

My mother's favoured euphemism is 'flamboyant'. My father, in a different vein, refers to 'lady doctors' i.e. the new GP at their surgery is a 'lady doctor'. I've foreborn (??) from asking him whether she's undertaken some different kind of training to become such a doctor. He's 86, he gets cut some slack.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/02/2017 17:11

Maybe you should at least start referring to man doctors though?Grin

Gruach · 09/02/2017 17:23

That does seem to be the way of it ...Grin

tiredofhavingtothinkofnewnames · 09/02/2017 18:39

I assume that Robs passport has been flagged and if he flies back into the Uk he will be detained. I have been on loads of flights where they have arrested people at the gate and and also seen people detained them at passport control for offences.

But he won't know that. I imagine the script writers will have him flying into France and swimming across etc.

He cant have got a USA working visa in the time it took so he must have a maximum 3 month stay in the USA. on a visa waiver. He cant be working unless he had a 6 year working visa (has it been 3 years that is the other length )

ThatsNotMyToddler · 09/02/2017 18:56

Interesting article Avocado but near the end they point out that as Rob was breaching his contact order he may have found future access more restricted 'or even supervised'. Clearly not written by anyone with even a passing familiarity with the storyline...Hmm

Gruach · 09/02/2017 19:13

Didn't I say there would be a lifetime of enmity between Henry and his little brother?

Gherkinsmummy · 09/02/2017 19:17

How could Helen NOT expect Henry to be upset and acting out!?! She's really failing him

LillianGish · 09/02/2017 19:24

I love the idea of Ben being literally in the closet - rearranging the cereal obviously.

selsigfach · 09/02/2017 19:24

No change there then, Gherkin.
