What do we want?
Realistic storylines!
When do we want them?
As soon as the writers see this!

Yes, me DDD. Seedy. Not 'fun' for me. Not exciting. 😟

redshoeblueshoe · 02/02/2017 10:34

I thought the Lil & Justin Liltin was a compare and contrast, Lil enjoyed nearly being caught, they had more excitement in one morning that Pip'n'Tobes have ever had.

Thanks for the new thread Psuedo Archers

SingingAvocado · 02/02/2017 10:35

Agreed Dad and Vango – both are behaving very badly and nobody condemns it.

Excellent Pseudo – Stella = alternative facts!

Butteredpars1ps · 02/02/2017 10:44

Signing in. Thanks Pseudo. We await the post truth Brighton fall out.

RedBugMug · 02/02/2017 10:49

pseudo's titles are the very reason I started listening to the archers :o

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/02/2017 10:49

I agree about the seediness. I'm amazed Jennifer hasn't had strong words with Lilian about it, given her own experiences.

DadDadDad · 02/02/2017 10:51

OK, thanks. I guess I was surprised that: 1. here on MN there wasn't more outright condemnation for a man cheating on his wife, and the woman who is enabling that and revelling in the deceit; 2. someone like Jennifer is not challenging Lil about having such a relationship (or have I missed that?).

Megatherium · 02/02/2017 10:56

Agreed. It might be different if it were one of those marriages where there is one of those "understandings" that each party will do their own thing, but that obviously isn't the case.

BertrandRussell · 02/02/2017 11:19

Someone on another forum described himself as having "plot whiplash".

And Rob/Henry thing is ridiculous. He is a vulnerable child and there's a court order in place to stop Rob seeing him. There is no way the school would let repeated conversations through the fence happen.

BertrandRussell · 02/02/2017 11:20

And I hate the Justin/Miranda/Lillian storyline too. So grimy and unpleasant.

mummytime · 02/02/2017 11:26

Thanks Pseudo for the biggest and the best threads!
Yes the Lilian?Justin thing is a bit mucky - and its not even a passionate relationship etc. al la previous affairs in the Archers. I did think Jolene was gently suggesting that at the Spa, but then again she isn't one who can speak (having stolen two of Kathy's partners and worried Clarrie a lot back in the day).
But lets not forget the Pseudo's threads are the best and biggest, truly awesome!

TheAntiBoop · 02/02/2017 11:33

I agree that the lil thing is seedy and I don't like it being made into this comedy farce

Also agree with Bertrand on the last thread about the signals the whole knob sl has put out.

Brillig · 02/02/2017 11:33

I know it seems as though I'm jumping on the bandwagon a bit too late here but yes. I've been feeling for some time that the 'naughty' Lil-Justin shagathon SL is just plain tawdry.

Miranda may be painted as a hatched-faced bore but....really? Justin's essentially a shit, isn't he?

Disclaimer: I'm not a Lillian fan at the best of times either and I couldn't stand bloody 'Tiger'

Shallishanti · 02/02/2017 11:38

agree it was tacky in the extreme, understandable that Jolene would condone, but to be fair I thought JD was sounding quite unamused

glowfrog · 02/02/2017 11:40

I also strongly disapprove of Lillian and Justin but mostly because the thought of old people doing it makes me want to spew. Grin

~~runs away from thread~~

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo.

MrsArthurShappey · 02/02/2017 11:42

Another great thread title pseudo. I might have suggested 'a knob in the clink is worth two in the bush' or something equally clunky!

I'm another one who just doesn't see the funny side in the Liltin affair. If they just felt a little more guilty I might feel better about it, but they're revelling in the deceit, it's awful.

I'm hoping Knob's plan is thwarted by the school doing their job but I won't hold my breath! It's very worrying isn't it?

What we know - it's a 'surprise' for Helen, it's happening soon, Knob may have to go away afterwards, and he needs Henry's help. It's the last bit that's confusing and worrying me. I wonder if Henry is going to have to distract Helen somehow so Knob can grab Jack.

Apart from the lack of safeguarding at school, we've been saying for yonks that Knob is the 'family destroyer' type so in a way almost anything that happens now wouldn't be out of character. Unless he turned up with a big bunch of flowers and a genuine apology for Helen and really did fuck off to Trumpville never to be seen or heard again.

MrsArthurShappey · 02/02/2017 11:43

the thought of old people doing it makes me want to spew

Brave words Grin

Vango · 02/02/2017 11:46

Also agree with Bertrand on the last thread about the signals the whole knob sl has put out.

I think we're going to have to find a way of un-investing ourselves in the public service element of last year's storyline and remember that TA is just a fictional 'drama' with all the accompanying horror stories/over the top plots/comedic touches/extreme characters etc. that make a good, long running and entertaining serial. The mistake I made, last year, was to accept the 'awareness raising' message, even though it made the programme hard-listening many times over its 2-year build up. An event like the stabbing would have life-long repercussions - not sustainable as 'entertainment' - and I can't imagine that many of the SWs have the qualifications and/or resources to write with the accuracy, sensitivity and time-frame it deserves.

Fink · 02/02/2017 11:53

Oh, I'm glad I'm not alone in disliking the way everyone's ok with Justin's cheating. I thought it was just me with my 'backward' Christian outlook and maybe the world had moved on from there. I quite like Lillian as a character and I'd like to see her happy (couldn't care less if Justin disappeared forever) but I don't really like how all the family are 100% behind her affair. And especially dislike the portrayal of Miranda as some old harridan who's just out to spoil everyone's fun.

HighbrowEyebrow · 02/02/2017 11:56

I keep hoping that Lil will get to know Miranda better, discover she's actually really nice and be completely guilt-stricken. Listening to the gleefulness makes me wonder if she has any decency Sad

ppeatfruit · 02/02/2017 11:56

Yeah MrsArthur very brave words INDEED , she better wotch aht. Grin

enochroot · 02/02/2017 11:57

I seem to have lost a day this week and was tensing myself for the Friday night cliffhanger tonight - and I should have remembered I'm going to see the live stream of Amadeus tonight.
So, I predict that this evening's episode will be fairly uneventful. The calm before the storm.

I'm another who doesn't like Lillian's affair.

Vango · 02/02/2017 12:01

I knew I'd said it before, so I've just had to Advance Search myself!

Vango Sun 10-Apr-16 11:57:03
Justin and Lillian had better not take things to the next level! He's married. It's not okay. Even if the SWs are trying to restore some of the more comical elements. I don't like the way that one's going with Jenny egging her on.

Abraiid2 · 02/02/2017 12:02

Oooh, Enoch! I am envious.

Vango · 02/02/2017 12:02

Look! All the way back in April!
