Avoided a non-sweary title.

Anyway, did she put money in herself to buy a chunk of the goodwill?

TheAntiBoop · 30/01/2017 19:27

Still not liking anisha

Vango · 30/01/2017 19:28

How much would it cost to buy into Alistair's veterinary practice? Would she have to stump up half the £250k for the new equipment? Is she really, really rich?

Stickerrocks · 30/01/2017 19:32

The partnership would have to take out a loan, but the business should have been valued when she joined and she should have paid for her agreed share. The problem is that the business was declining, so it may not have had much goodwill. It sounds as though the assets are out dated, but Alistair still has the premises.

Vango · 30/01/2017 19:40

Given the interest from the bigger practice though, Alistair's business can't be doing too badly. I'm guessing Anisha's had to spend a fair amount already.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 30/01/2017 20:02

Still not liking anisha

Disliking her more and more.

Vango · 30/01/2017 20:10

Isn't it funny? I really like her.

R4 · 30/01/2017 20:13

I don't like Anisha, either. I hope that we're not supposed to find her feisty and fire-y because she isn't. She's just unpleasantly pushy and self-centred.
It looks like Rex has had a lucky escape if she only thinks of him in terms of odd-job-man-who-needs-tipping.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 30/01/2017 20:25

I'm not keen on Anisha either - far too self-satisfied. The constantly reminding the entire village of her brilliant flushing of a horse's joint for days after the event sealed it for me. Not that big of a deal, luv. And now she's trying to back Alistair into a corner over this £250k investment in a business she's only just bought into - surely this should have been discussed before she invested?

Pleased Brighton is finally being addressed though.

TheAntiBoop · 30/01/2017 20:27

Agree r4 and grumpy

And she strikes me as one of those people who says 'I'm just saying it how is see it' or 'I'm just being honest' when she's said something bitchy

glowfrog · 30/01/2017 21:09

I don't like Anisha, either. Still trying to work out whether she was making a weird pass at Rex.

As for the Brighton stuff... Really, that's all there is?! Why is Rex doing Toby a favour by not telling all??

mummytime · 30/01/2017 21:50

As for the Brighton stuff... Really, that's all there is?! Why is Rex doing Toby a favour by not telling all??

I don't think that explanation by Rex explains Toby's behaviour. But it might pretty much explain what Rex knows - except Toby having some kind of debt - which £500 paid off at one point. But it doesn't explain what we've heard but no one on the Archers has, such as Toby's response to that phone call. He sounded anxious/worried or something, and that he had to go to Brighton right then and there - he was fully going to finish the cleaning, take the power washer back etc. before.

I really think there is more for us to find out. But the SWs did a great job of getting rid of the complication of why Rex hasn't spilled the beans to Pip - he doesn't know all of it. (And probably doesn't want to.)

IAmNotAUserNumber · 30/01/2017 22:02

Perhaps he has a child in Brighton and so far his method of parenting has been to go down there every so often to lob cash at the mother, who threatens all sorts of things if he doesn't. And now the child is very sick/in hospital and Toby realises he/she actually means more to him than he thought.

Cromwell1536 · 31/01/2017 08:32

One of the Brighton gang has OD'd? perhaps Charlotte, and Toby feels particularly responsible because of Their Past? Anyway, since Pip is incapable of playing a slow hand, she will confront Tobes on his return, and hopefully the whole wretched business will be wound up soon.

ppeatfruit · 31/01/2017 09:04

Anisha was very pushy with the investment thing, she was talking about them being in competition with other high end vets. Wasn't the reason Al took on a partner was because he wanted to 'slow down" Grin poor sod Grin

Gallavich · 31/01/2017 09:07

Toby had to leave with no notice for some emergency socialising? Of course there is more to it! Surely Pip won't swallow that line?

BitOutOfPractice · 31/01/2017 09:23

The thing with Rex refusing the money, I took it that he rather liked Anisha and hoped she liked him too and her offering the money made him realise that the chat and tea had only been politeness as part of a business transaction for her. He was hurt and disappointed. That's how I read it anyway.

The Brighton thing. Bloody hell this had better end up being something spectacularly unexpected and a brilliant storyline because so far it is just so bloody tedious.

Imbroglio · 31/01/2017 09:25

I thought it was anisha being 'charitable' and Rex was embarrassed?

BitOutOfPractice · 31/01/2017 09:43

That as well. It really seemed to show up the difference in their circumstances didn't it? Poor Rex. I feel sorry for him

redshoeblueshoe · 31/01/2017 10:27

I'm going to be the lone voice here. I hope Rex and Anisha get together.
Poor Rex - really, he must be nearly 30 and has up until now been supported by daddy.
As for Pip, well - she's more annoyed that he might have a female friend, than doing drugs Shock

Vango · 31/01/2017 10:32

Excuse me redshoe! I've been saying that for ages! Smile

ppeatfruit · 31/01/2017 10:53

I don't know now, I reckon Anisha is too 'pushy' for gentle Rex, he might fancy her to start with but she'd be trying to make him into a go-getting entrepreneur (as she's doing with Alastair).

Probably better with Tobee ! She'd follow him down to Brighton and drag him back Grin

Vango · 31/01/2017 10:59

Probably better with Tobee ! She'd follow him down to Brighton and drag him back

She'd just shove his stuff into black bin liners and tell him to post the keys back through the letterbox! She wouldn't waste the petrol.

Butteredpars1ps · 31/01/2017 11:03

I definitely think Anesha's too - good - to - be - true introduction heralds some sort of denouement.

Charlotte is central to the Brighton mystery. That's why Rex reeled off the boys names first. But is C going to turn out to be a child or an adult?

Just hope the Brighton connection doesn't signal TA getting its first transsexual character. I don't think I could cope with Susan's reaction.

redshoeblueshoe · 31/01/2017 11:23

Whoops !
Vango I meant I am the lone voice because I don't like either of them, and I think horrible people should stick together Grin it saves everyone else from having to be with them
