I just thought of a brilliant scenario: Rob tries to snatch Henry and maybe Jack. Drives off in his car, but a cow has got loose (maybe escaped from the rustlers that didn't get solved). Rob crashes into the Cow, or maybe it's a Bull that charges at the car.
Harrison comes along solves the cattle rustling and the abduction. Rob goes to jail.
Henry is okay but so traumatised he becomes mute for years. There can even be whole plots about Henry not speaking, until the Ambridge fairy does her work when he is 14+.

I don't think Rob is intending to snatch Henry, doesn't really fit with the 'away for a long time' part. I reckon he's just going to take Jack. Though where could he take him, jack doesn't have a passport, even if he did and there wasn't an 'alert all ports' presumably he couldnt just swan out with a Jack Archer?

Lass it took me two years to convince my ex he has time to send me a text when he got home after a night out to tell me he was safe. He has since tried to convince me that he has been too busy to send one for three solid months despite having promised to - it must take men a lot longer or something (to text, that is)

Presumably Rob is named on the BC, in which case he could get a passport fairly easily I think. Although Helen may not have put him there, I think even if you're married you can put father unknown. Though if she had done that Rob would have got himself put on as part of the legal proceedings I'm sure.

So. After all that incredibly realistic, slow burn domestic abuse story, the SW then decided to send out the message that the only way of escape is attempted murder and the perpetrator will not be charged with rape and coercive control. And now they are sending out the message that a vulnerable 6 year child who must be on some sort of register, and who the school must have been briefed about is able to have regular conversations through the school fence with a person who has been forbidden to contact him. What utter, utter bollocks. And irresponsible bollocks at that.

thatsnot I agree about Pip's immaturity. Most people of her age starting a relationship don't happen to have their own cottage though. Pip's never had to have the "can we afford the rent" conversation that most couples have ad their relationships evolve.

Rob won't be able to get a passport for Jack without a picture, which also has to be certified as a true likeness of Jack by someone reputable who has known Rob for 2 years. He'd need an original birth certificate too, though that is easily obtained/he may already have one.

This is all too much signaling for my liking. Yes, Helen is all on her own.
