Avoided a non-sweary title.

For me it's the constant sucking in of air through her teeth.

YES!!!

And Alice (remember her?) sounds like she's having a mini-orgasm when she talks.

ppeatfruit · 30/01/2017 13:17

Vango I think it's not so much over exposure more that we have to LISTEN to them, the vocal quirks and oddities are not so noticeable on telly. On the radio every change of tone\nuance, peak and trough etc is magnified, Daisy Badger needs to decide which timbre to do Pip in.

I thought Daisy Badger was really pretty good in Home Fires - she's unrecognisable as the actress playing Pip!

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 30/01/2017 13:32

it's sort of jolly hockey sticks mixed with trying to sound lascivious when talking about virtually anything to do with bed, mixed with indulgent mother talking to slightly wayward child. I don't understand how any man could bear to live with that all the time

Yes !!!. I think Tobes was finding it irritating. I can only hope the pointless wasting of time is leading up to a big Brighton denouement tonight.

MrsArthurShappey · 30/01/2017 13:33

Francis excellent point there (Pat and Ruth)

ppeatfruit · 30/01/2017 13:34

Although I remember someone saying that Pat had to clear up before someone visited. How anyone can run, or even help, run a farm, and farm shop, veg. boxes, also give time to their grandchildren AND keep a hoovered tidied house is beyond me.

MrsArthurShappey · 30/01/2017 13:35

I've said it before and I'll say it again, pointless as I think the Fairbrothers are, I actually really like Rex and he deserves far better than Pip! I will be Very Cross if they end up together. She's allowed to fall for him (after all) but he must spurn her. He must!!

ppeatfruit · 30/01/2017 13:37

Rex does seem to bring out the best of her though. They'd be ok together I reckon.

Lass, there's a separate thread for Archers spoilers. I suggest you ask for your post to be moved, otherwise Olivia will smite you.

MrsArthurShappey · 30/01/2017 13:42

But.....but....she's an utter twat! I'm only 'allowing her' to be with Toby because he's a twat too.

Actually....look how Helen's changed. Maybe Pip should stab Toby, go to clink and come out all nice and stuff (and as a different actress). Apologise to everyone for being a twat and we'll never hear the end of it.

But really what should happen is someone (not Josh, or Jill!) should call her out on her generally appalling behaviour and attitude. It needs to be David and/or Ruth. She should be young enough to see that she's being a twat and mend her ways.

Vango · 30/01/2017 13:43

I like Rex too. I hope he and Anisha are very happy together. I hope they have lots of laughs and make friends with all the young'uns. I hope they'll be great mates with Chris and Alice. Pip can languish, friendless, at Rickyard, hanging out with her granny and her miserable mother while Josh and Ben go to fun parties with Lily and Freddie.

MrsArthurShappey · 30/01/2017 13:45

Ah Vango that actually made me *happysigh. I need to get a life.

Vango · 30/01/2017 13:45

Rex must NOT be saddled with Pip! What's he done to deserve that fate?

MrsArthurShappey · 30/01/2017 13:46

Apologise to everyone for being a twat and we'll never hear the end of it.

I meant 'and that'll be the end of it' Hmm

Vango · 30/01/2017 13:46

Me too Mrs (life that is!).

MrsArthurShappey · 30/01/2017 13:46

EXACTLY Vango he deserves better!

I've just spotted the adverts for 'Twelfth Night' at the National Theatre with Debbie/Tamsin Greig as Malvolio (interesting casting). I'm not sure that I can justify a trip to London to see it but am tempted by the live cinema screening on 6th April.

SingingAvocado · 30/01/2017 14:01

I went to Amadeus (magnificent) at the National Theatre on Thursday Iwantacampervan and Tamsin Greig / Twelfth Night posters / flyers were everywhere. The NT Facebook page has a few nice pics of Twelfth Night in rehearsal too. Quite tempted but may have to settle for the live cinema too!

ppeatfruit · 30/01/2017 14:03

I Lurrrve Call The Midwife , hate Casualty and EE. Grin

Vango · 30/01/2017 14:09

I don't watch any of them though my DD has recently started watching Casualty and insists on talking me through each week's episode. She knows I glaze over and tests me sometimes by asking me to repeat back to her what she's just said.

Cromwell1536 · 30/01/2017 14:16

Whaaats so aarrrrgent? Thell meee!

That's my attempt to mimic Pip. Ugh, she's beyond awful. Can't hear the teeth/air sucking thing tho.
