Avoided a non-sweary title.

Broomstick just read Lowfield for yesterday. There was one not very exciting event and it lasted the whole episode.

Tonight's was a good one.

Megatherium · 27/01/2017 20:35

I wonder if Rob will turn out to have been squatting somewhere awaiting his chance to abduct Jack? Are there any empty properties knocking about?

Cromwell1536 · 27/01/2017 20:43

My money's on suicide (for Rob, natch!) But perhaps that's too much of a plot retread in terms of stuff-that-happens-to-Helen's-exes? I think it is the most realistic though, for that personality type - all the stuffing suddenly gone out of him, no status to maintain and to uphold him any longer. A final act of aggression against Ursula, Helen, Jess, the entire monstrous regiment that have conspired against him. A shot to the head in the woods somewhere...

enochroot · 27/01/2017 20:46

There's Linda's shepherd's hut. Josh's hen house. He could be kipping in his car.

BroomstickOfLove · 27/01/2017 21:05

He could be like Scruff, and be wandering around.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 27/01/2017 21:24

It's not fair. I want to get the Archers version of a box set to find out what happens to Rob in the end.

Fink · 27/01/2017 21:43

Unexpected They did already try to cash in and produce a CD (?) or something that had just the Rob and Helen storyline and nothing else. It sounded dreadful, I wouldn't have touched it.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 27/01/2017 21:53

I still want to hear all the other gubbins, I just want to binge listen Grin

RandomDent · 27/01/2017 22:50

Vango Daryl....Daryl... :o

(Non-Simpsons fans, that's Daryl Strawberry getting heckled.)

Caught up two episodes and corresponding posts.... a helluva lot of posts analysing a dull episode Grin

Well done whoever it was a bit before that said it was time Arsula showed up. It probably was unlikely he'd have gone to his parents- he despises her, wouldn't be able to tolerate her fussing. I wonder if her anxiety about him is just concern for his welfare or if that she's consciously or subconsciously aware that he may do something drastic.

Watching the Crown episode 7
Just fell over Oliver as an Eton master with a pet crow Grin

Shallishanti · 27/01/2017 23:44

please not a suicide, he wouldn't go alone

Megatherium · 27/01/2017 23:48

It was highly satisfying listening to Pat saying to Ursula what we have all been saying for months. Ursula and Rob share the same sort of basic unawareness - you can't be unforgivably rude to someone and then start expecting them to do you favours or claim their sympathy, but that just doesn't occur to either of them.

EBearhug · 28/01/2017 00:31

Yeah, there's an executive flat on the road out to Hollerton, which has just been put up to let...

EBearhug · 28/01/2017 00:35

I agree, he's the sort to kill the children ("if I can't have them, no one can,") before himself, rather than alone in a shepherd's hut like Greg. And Helen's already lost Greg that way, so to lose two would look like carelessness.

GigotdAgneau · 28/01/2017 07:18

I'm sorry, I think making a singular flapjack is bollock. (Apologies for being sweary.) Grin

My pet theory re rob is that he's been in touch with Henry somehow, hence Henry's current mood of being unsettled. He's old enough now that if rob had told him not to tell mummy something he'd be conflicted.

So rob has told Henry to pick up baby jack and will pick them both up from outside the house. Jazzed will see it all, race after them in dramatic chase and save the day. Cue rob being led off by PC whathisname shouting 'my boys, my boys!'.

I can't believe it's just going to be left with him disappeared...

Colabottle10 · 28/01/2017 08:11

My thoughts exactly eatingcheese.

There was a massive hint when Helen said Henry came into her bed in the night. He's upset about something and that something is ROB.

ErrolTheDragon · 28/01/2017 08:30

If Rob's flat is empty, and he's not gone to his parents, where's all his stuff? I'd be looking out for a self-drive van parked up somewhere.

It's 'some/a piece of shortbread' by analogy with bread, isn't it? Flapjack I can go either way on, maybe because mine don't always cut neatly so there are some nice discrete rectangles (flapjacks) and then the nubbly bits left in the tray (some flapjack). Jill's flapjacks are doubtless perfect squares so there is no grammatical ambiguity. Or if she did have any edgy bits, she wouldn't have presented them to Pip, Ben would have silently eaten them.

I was watching the very same episode last night too *LowDudgeon• although I didn't know that was Oliver.

In other news, Josh has invented EBay. Oh, wait ....

IAmNotAUserNumber · 28/01/2017 08:48

Rob can't be dead, he's too valuable to TA producers to write him off now.
But I hope TW, whose acting has been excellent, is able to use his role as a springboard to greater things, and he'll have no more than a Debbie Aldridge role in TA in the future.

DadDadDad · 28/01/2017 08:55

I thought Henry being unsettled was explained as him picking up on Helen being anxious, as a way of setting the scene that Rob's disappearance was disturbing her, forcing Lil to share the truth. I feel if Rob had contacted Henry we would have got some hint, such as Rob being seen at the school.
