Rex as a personal trainer at GGs sounds like a very sensible plan!

R4 · 26/01/2017 10:38

[lightbulb moment]
GG are going to need maternity cover in the Health Club soon.

birdsdestiny · 26/01/2017 10:42

I think they are playing a long game with Anisha. I think she will be seen as the brilliant new vet and Alistair will begin to doubt his own abilities. Then a disaster will strike and Alistair will save the day.

Butteredpars1ps · 26/01/2017 10:45

Mmm I like the idea of Rex as a personal trainer at GG. Less so the inevitable will they, wont they, with Lizzie.

bore's long term plan for the fair-arch-brothers sounds very likely though.

witchmountain · 26/01/2017 11:23

Re third party horse insurance you get it as part of the membership of several of the horse associations, e.g. Pony Club, BHS, British Eventing and I think at least some hunts would require it as a condition of membership.

witchmountain · 26/01/2017 11:24

For vets fees it's like any pet insurance, there's things they won't cover, especially pre-existing conditions, so would be impossible to insist that anyone had it.

BroomstickOfLove · 26/01/2017 12:36

Why would Rex working at GG lead to romance with Lizzie? Surely GG is the haven for people (Roy) trying to escape from her.

Butteredpars1ps · 26/01/2017 12:40

Doh. You're right broomstick thank goodness. [blush (LL dont need a personal trainer do they)

Fink · 26/01/2017 14:17

Just LA to the repeat and realised that right before Toby asked for an advance on his pay, he had rocked up late to his shift without proper apology or any reason given having left Kenton covering for him. FFS, what a caricature, can't even turn up on time for bar work.

Gruach · 26/01/2017 14:24

Oddly, I was wondering last night if Rex was about to become a dahl (or dal if you prefer) super-chef. Although that might be too many cooks in Ambridge.

It's true that ideally he should have capitalised on his sporting talent - but I know all too well how easy it is to lose one's way in RL. Perhaps we're supposed to imagine him too heartbroken to ever consider any other career in sport.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/01/2017 14:43

I don't think Rex's dhal is something anyone would pay to eat.

Maybe he was to some extent pushed into the 'farming' - there may have been family pressure for him to find something he could do with Toby to keep him out of trouble? Not sure whether having been a rugby player would qualify him to work as a proper PT without getting some training - would a place like GG take him on in that sort of role?

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 26/01/2017 14:51

Maybe Justin has something Rex could do. I hear there's an opening at Damara - nice salary package, executive flat, not too taxing...

Vango · 26/01/2017 15:04

If I were Kenton I'd swap Toby for Rex at The Bull.

TheAntiBoop · 26/01/2017 15:30

Isn't it food for a barman to have a bit of charisma? Toby is a twat but I bet he is better at customer service

DoctorTwo · 26/01/2017 17:58

I think Anisha's going to try to make a play for Rex. The way she said "Who's the posh boy?" made me think that. Rex could do a lot worse I thought Anisha cheating was funny and her reason for doing so was spot on. I like her so far, but she's renting Bloody Hell Cottage! Shock

R4 · 26/01/2017 18:46

Remind me again: what are Kirsty's qualifications?Hmm

BroomstickOfLove · 26/01/2017 19:13

To qualify as a gym-based personal trainer, all you need is an 8 day full-time course.

Vango · 26/01/2017 19:18

Right. So Jill cooks the equivalent of a Christmas dinner for 8 then finds herself in the kitchen afterwards washing up? What a lovely family. Toby sounded really thrilled that Pip considers them a real couple.

GrumpyOldBag · 26/01/2017 19:21

Why has Jill changed her mind about Toby?

There've been a lot of situation resolutions recently - Lillian back with Justin, Roy and the tart (forgot her name, sorry), Rob leaving town and now this.

Vango · 26/01/2017 19:36

Because there isn't a single person on her side Grumpy and if she wants to be comfortable in her own home she has no choice but to try to improve the situation. I don't believe for a second that she's altered her opinion of him and I could imagine her gritted teeth as she uttered her apology. They're all so totally stupid and self-absorbed at Brookfield that they can't see any of that.

Jill's first impression and instincts will be correct. It's only a matter of time. For now, she's prioritising 'keeping the peace' having learned over the past few months that Pip is the most important person in the family and must be indulged, whatever her whims.

PuppetInParadize · 26/01/2017 19:38

Well, Ruth and Daveed couldn't possibly wash up - they had to get ready for a bit of light slurping in the master bedroom. I laughed when they mentioned Ben was missing. They could just have him being there and not had to pay or even appoint an actor. But it did occur to me maybe they were doing that for our benefit.Grin

GOB, did you miss Lizzie's chat with Jill her mum last week? I presume that's wot dun it. It's so obvious Tobee doesn't see the relationship with Pip long term. If I liked Pip I might feel upset for her.

I hope Kirsty doesn't get with Roy. I did like the scene with Tracee in the car. Is she the tart , GOB? Or is it the middle aged one you mean? I suppose both are Lizzie and Tracee are that now. Smile Nuffink wrong with middle age though.

redshoeblueshoe · 26/01/2017 19:50

Daveed also pissed me off she doesn't always cook dinner
What a nasty bunch, and they didn't even wash up Shock

BroomstickOfLove · 26/01/2017 19:54

Lizzie's chat with Jilland then Jill and Peggy's conversation in church.

Vango · 26/01/2017 19:55

Elderly Jill. Recently sprained ankle. Standing at the sink. Angry

Vango · 26/01/2017 19:58

I think Lizzie and Peggy's chats with Jill helped her only to determine (in her own mind) that she was fighting a losing battle. She hasn't had a Damascene conversion.
