Avoided a non-sweary title.

I doubt Rob will slink off without doing (or trying to do) something vile.

LowDudgeon · 21/01/2017 20:29

I think he will slink off, & everyone will go "phew", & then after a while...

I suspect SOC's plan was for the Rob SL to drag out for ages, because he obviously thought it was clever to leave plot points unresolved for ages, or allow them just to die the death. For instance, that time Tom decided to check the orders at the shop which would have revealed that Knob was responsible for Helen's "mistakes", and we never heard anything more about it.

TheAntiBoop · 21/01/2017 20:57

Well according to Tim stimpson it was always the intention for Helen to stab rob. I'm sure soc was wetting himself with excitement at the prospect so he was never going to do a slow burn. He probably times it all so that he would see out the trial and then gave no thought to what would happen next

I loved the exchange between Lizzy and Frillies the other night post-party. The new Lily sounds great, a bit Kate-like but a lightness of delivery that Pip's actor could do well to follow.

I don't believe Knob is going to head quietly off into the sunset though...

ErrolTheDragon · 21/01/2017 22:48

I can't believe Lizzie believed their protestations of innocence, in the face of an overwhelming lack of evidence (2 teens no mess, yeah right, nothing on the camera though there should have been).

BitOutOfPractice · 21/01/2017 23:24

Really! Are we liking the new Lilly? I think she sounds like a pastiche of an 80s Sloane and so like Alice, Phoebe and Kate it's untrue

Gruach · 22/01/2017 01:03

So lovely to see this thread so lively!

And celebrated on the TA twitter feed too. Congratulations Pseudo and ... I forget who ... but jolly well done. Grin

Bring on the Film ...

She probably didn't believe them, but she could see she wasn't going to get any information out of them, and as they seemed not to have caused any trouble and to have actually cleaned the whole house (& laundered the towels!) she just decided to drop it.

GypsyFl0ss · 22/01/2017 06:58

I do like the new Lily, I enjoyed hearing her trying her chances with Ian over the canapés. Although I suspect I like her 'cos anyone is better than wooden Pip with her wandering vocal range and the boring Brookfield lot.
I don't believe for a minute that Lizzy was taken in by the protestations but I think she's probably relieved that Freddie has made some friends and is enjoying himself.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/01/2017 07:48

At least I know who Pip is without having to have script clues. Unlike Lily, Alice, Kate, Dr Locke, Tom, Alan etc

GypsyFl0ss · 22/01/2017 07:54

That's true.

Vango · 22/01/2017 10:19

Ha ha ha......have just heard the Spring Shimmer speech from Susan ("I thought Helen was going to ask about my new lipstick, the way she raised her eyebrows.."). And Jim, on the photos, "The frame looks rather good"! Smile

Vango · 22/01/2017 10:21

I love Lily. She sounds exactly as I'd expect Elizabeth's daughter to sound. And I like Elizabeth too.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/01/2017 10:42

Vango I agree that was a great exchange between two fabulous characters. And the best bit is that it wasn't to advance some major plot line but purely to add depth, colour and amusement for the listener. Archers at its best. BOOP

Vango · 22/01/2017 10:58

The tabard! Or 'vest' as Johnny called it! Still laughing here....

Gruach · 22/01/2017 11:02

"Not much of a moon ...!"

Wonderful!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/01/2017 11:11

I listened to every episode this week and now I'm listening to the film. Woooohooooo all over again!

Vango · 22/01/2017 11:12

So, Kirsty, yet again, thinks it's ok to get involved in someone else's affairs? But slapped wrists for anyone close to her venturing an opinion on her circumstances. Hmmm...

Helenluvsrob · 22/01/2017 11:12

Of course Lizzie knew they'd had a party. She wisely made them aware she knew by quizzing them but didn't push it as it was a huge success with no damage to her previous house ( assuming we don't suddenly find out they empties the wine cellar or something )

Vango · 22/01/2017 11:14

BOOP's statement above could also be said of the party...

it wasn't to advance some major plot line but purely to add depth, colour and amusement for the listener.

The treats keep coming! Neil Nunes.... "I believe the word is 'comeuppance' or 'come-ah-pence' as they say in Minnesota" Grin

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/01/2017 11:24

Grin He's become a real TA fan, hasn't he! I love it when the CAs join in.

Vango · 22/01/2017 11:26

Hasn't he just! He always sounds as if he's suppressing a chuckle.

Megatherium · 22/01/2017 11:29

I think he intended to continue the slow burn so as to drag out what he no doubt viewed as his big storyline as long as possible. I doubt if Rob would have been booted from Damara so quickly if SOC was still in charge.
