I've just browsed Lowfield for the first time - they really don't like Pat do they!

OP posts:

I don't care about josh but I really want Johnny to do well in all of his exams

EBearhug · 10/06/2016 23:01

It was 1987 that Lizzie and Robin Fairbrother had an affair. So Rex would be 28 or 29 if his mother was pregnant at the time of the affair, and Toby is a bit younger. That fits in with them having had time to be a professional rugby player and City boy.

TopazRocks · 10/06/2016 23:50

I'm sure it was Siobhan Hathaway - moaning to Elizabeth- when Jason cut down the honeysuckle. I agree about Nelson Gabriel/Jack may though. Excellent character and acting - and voice. Nicely distinctive too!

Pretty sure Ian won't be the sperm donor. Remember the fall-out when his friend wanted his sperm. Adam was not happy. Though whether the current team will recall such a detail ....

The idea of supervised access only for Knob is brilliant. May it happen ... I can quite see Toby as the next PA character in Ambridge. Maybe they can both be closet gays and trundle off into the sunset. Actual truth - I dreamed about Knob and Helen the other night. i was spilling the beans to the plod - who seemed to be listening. Oh well.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 11/06/2016 00:15

Another scene where Helen deftly deflwcts questions about Rob.

Eastpoint · 11/06/2016 07:11

I agree completely that Rex & Toby have the wrong names. However could it be that Rex is scheduled to be King? After all SOC is terribly clever and did Latin at school.

AugustaFinkNottle · 11/06/2016 07:28

When is someone going to get a psychiatrist to talk to Helen?

GypsyFl0ss · 11/06/2016 08:48

Yes absolutely agree about Trex's names...as I've said before they're so wrong that I have to say Reliable Rex and Terrible Toby in my head when I hear them to get them the right way around. Good point East that does indeed sound like some wanky that SOC would do.

I like Josh but I do feel that they're rehashing the early Tom years with him.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/06/2016 12:37

...which were a rehash of John's early years.

Ruhrpott · 11/06/2016 12:42

Pip is 23 and was born in Feb 1993. I was pregnant and due about the same time

Gruach · 11/06/2016 15:07

Buffy Davis is so gorgeous in "Cassandra at the Wedding" on R4 right now. Her (American accent) voice sounds completely natural - no weird, unnecessary, seducing-a-bag-of-crisps delivery.

LillianGish · 11/06/2016 18:55

I like Josh but I do feel that they're rehashing the early Tom years with him so agree (and with the John follow-up comment). Just hope he won't be killed off so Ben can step into his shoes - do we know anything about Ben these days? Maybe he's already been killed off and noone's noticed.

RockNRollNerd · 11/06/2016 19:55

I suspect Josh's masterplan re the eggs is going to be to pass off some of Neil and Hayley's eggs as the Pastured Eggs and they will come unstuck at some point.

Admittedly I was listening to Friday's episode whilst going round Waitrose this afternoon (I figure I may as well double down on the middle class thing Grin) so was slightly distracted by free samples but why did Bert decide to help out with the Resurgam Fence? Just because he's a nice guy?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/06/2016 20:15

Yes. Smile Good for Bert.

GypsyFl0ss · 11/06/2016 20:34

I'm confused about the Bert thing. I heard Eddie offering to help Bert to beat Lynda and then Bert turned up in her garden. What did I miss?

mummytime · 11/06/2016 20:47

Lynda asked Eddie to do the fence, but he wanted extra money and to be able to promote his "Shepherd Hut" business at the open garden. He was basically blackmailing Linda but she said No.
Eddie then ran into Bert at the builders merchants, and said he hoped Bert beat Linda. Bert heard about Linda's problem and out of the goodness of his heart called his boys in (Toby, Rex and Josh) and they put up the fence for Linda.

GypsyFl0ss · 12/06/2016 11:05

Ah thankyou mummytime. Hurrah for Bert and his boyz.

BYOSnowman · 12/06/2016 11:07

Although to be fair on Eddie - he was working on a job and she was expecting him to leave that and go to her. Maybe I'm seeing this from the patio customers perspective but I would not have been happy!!

Gruach · 12/06/2016 11:11

Slightly tardy BOOP for Susan in her new Super-Head role!

First time anything in TA has made me laugh for ages.

BitOutOfPractice · 12/06/2016 11:11

I've only just clocked that we will have 2 Annas now

enochroot · 12/06/2016 12:20

Did I catch that Anna Tregorran is coming to stay in the village?
I hope she sees Rob losing his temper over something or other.

Scarydinosaurs · 12/06/2016 12:44

Lynda was awful to Eddie. She was lucky Bert came to help her. She didn't deserve it! She needs to do something sweet sharpish to balance out her recent acidity.

With Anna (Anya? Shop Anna?) coming back, surely this is the signal of Rob's unraveling?

BYOSnowman · 12/06/2016 13:34

It's Anya in the shop and Anna the barrister.

The thing that makes Lynda a good character is that she can be insufferable sometimes but she can also be lovely. She feels like a real person.

BitOutOfPractice · 12/06/2016 14:25

I thought we'd established that it's Anna in the shop!

God I am confuddled!

BitOutOfPractice · 12/06/2016 14:26

And we need a new thread soon!

BYOSnowman · 12/06/2016 14:26

Lowfield says Anya but not to say they are right!!
