I've just browsed Lowfield for the first time - they really don't like Pat do they!

It seems we all like the silent characters much more than the speaking ones! I always think Sabrina Thwaite sounds like great fun!

Thymeout · 09/06/2016 18:41

Well, at least you know who's not talking.

Last night, I wondered why Tom was coming on to Pip.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/06/2016 19:25

I quite enjoyed tonight's episode. Grundys, TRex, Lilian only, so the KLAXON can be sounded.

BlackeyedSusan · 09/06/2016 19:33

those Button girls are a bit of a handful though.

BlackeyedSusan · 09/06/2016 19:59

can't stand Toby. Hope lillian and justin wipe the floor with him. (and I am not that keen on either of them but they are much more preferable to toby. )

Campaign for Real Archers, Please, aka C.R.A.P.

Oh hang on -

glowfrog · 09/06/2016 20:16

Toby is utterly loathsome. I hate him almost as much as I hate Rob.

KittiesInsane · 09/06/2016 21:10

I want Ian to turn out to be Henry's sperm donor. He can sweep back in and adopt him while Helen is sorting her thoughts out in clink.

BertrandRussell · 09/06/2016 21:34

Did you hear the continuity announcer reminding us about Jason? he is such a stirrer! Grin

AugustaFinkNottle · 09/06/2016 22:07

Who's Jason?

BertrandRussell · 09/06/2016 22:13

He was a builder. Worked for Amside- among other people . Gave Darrell work?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/06/2016 22:22

Jason was a Brummie. He used to feature fairly regularly but was never a central figure. To be honest, my memory of him is a bit hazy, but I think he was genuinely funny (as opposed to the new characters they keep imposing on us who are meant to be funny and aren't). Did he give Darrell work? I thought he was long gone before that era.

SaraTheFairy · 09/06/2016 23:51

Was it established why Dan's beard girlfriend was at the save celebration on Tuesday night? Did I miss the mention of Dan being there? I vaguely remember something about some homoerotic tank trip, but must have blanked the rest out Blush. Also, I know it's been said, but the scripts over the past few days have been tosh!

EBearhug · 10/06/2016 00:28

Didn't Sid get all upset and homophobic about Jason because he was gay?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/06/2016 08:08

I don't think so. The Archers Encyclopaedia says he has an ex-wife and three children to support and a live-in girlfriend. Are you thinking of Sean and Peter who owned the Cat & Fiddle for a bit?

Jason's sidekick was Clint (silent). They found some bones once when digging a trench and had a playfight, which caused outrage, although they turned out to be animal bones. Also, TAE informs me that he dug up the honeysuckle that gave Honeysuckle Cottage its name. That would presumably be back in the time when Nelson Gabriel, my favourite character ever bar none, lived there.

I can't remember when we last heard from Jason, but it must be at least 10 years. Sad However, I'll grudgingly concede that might be plausible, given that the actor (Brian Miller) is now 75. He was married to Elizabeth Sladen (Sarah-Jane Smith from Dr Who) and seems to have popped up in most long-running British TV series of the last 50 years.

Minimammoth · 10/06/2016 08:39

I always thought Ian might be the donor.

At least we now know that 'dad' is financially propping up the brethren.

R4 · 10/06/2016 09:07

But it doesn't make sense, as per usual.
Rex gave us today's public information lecture talked about the peril to cashflow of overexpanion. And, in the next breath, said that daddy was bankrolling them.

They either have access to cash or not. Which one is it?

BYOSnowman · 10/06/2016 09:24

Daddy bankrolling is lazy sw
Of course he will turn up at some point and throw Lizzie and Jill into a tizz. Now isn't that something to look forward to.

Saker · 10/06/2016 09:45

Sorry I'm here doing my occasional delurk to let off steam and not really on the current topic of discussion. I can't see why Pat can't visit the baby without seeing Helen. Presumably if Rob would be allowed supervised access without Helen present, then she could be too if only for a few minutes so she can have at least seen him and held him etc. Also surely if Helen's defence is going to be that she was afraid of Rob and that she was afraid of what he might do to Henry, then it won't do her case any good if she willingly agrees to supervised access for him as Anna is encouraging her to do. Surely later on a prosecution barrister could say, if you were so worried about the effect of Rob on your children why did you allow him any access at all?

NotdeadyetBOING · 10/06/2016 09:49

God the last couple of episodes have been tedious….

And as for Pip droning on about progesterone in a silly, faux flirty way the other day. Jesus. What on earth does Rex see in her?!

ArgyMargy · 10/06/2016 11:49

Presumably Pip's attractiveness to all (straight male) young farmers within grabbing distance is down to her enormous breasts?

EBearhug · 10/06/2016 12:01

I thought it was mostly availability.

Gruach · 10/06/2016 12:15

Pip has acres of promise ...

AugustaFinkNottle · 10/06/2016 14:36

The prosecution couldn't claim Helen has willingly given Rob access to Henry. So far as Jack is concerned, I think it would be great if she agreed to supervised access only. He would utterly hate having a female social worker looking on and checking on his parenting skills, particularly if the baby dared to do anything disobedient.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 10/06/2016 15:27

I thought the progestetone droning is a foreshadowing because she is pg.

Otherwise wtf was the point of Matthew? Unless the sole purpose of Matthew was to show that the Archers will not leave BF, not for roads, robotic milkers, romance nor for jobs in Brazil.
