"Get outta my village" screams Peggy Mitchell

Bore, yes, when pointed out on this thread, I did a double take, but it's just run of the mill farming bollocks now, isn't it? The Ag Ed must be lying in a corner of the meeting room sobbing silently to himself. He might as well not be there.

ppeatfruit · 18/05/2016 11:50

Yes I noticed it straight away Bore and thought maybe they're not spraying on their free range pasture.

enochroot · 18/05/2016 12:02

Final day for applications for the editor's job.

That's a good point about Adam and Ian. They both were concerned after the infamous steak dinner, noticed Rob preventing Helen from going to comfort a distressed Henry and vowed to keep an eye on things. They never gave it another thought but you'd think their memories would be jogged now, especially when Henry has been given into Rob's care.
Also, has Ian not yet pieced together the way Rob used the info about the snog in the bushes to almost derail his wedding? At the very least he knows Helen wanted him to be godfather to the baby.

enochroot · 18/05/2016 12:07

And..... has Kirsty really not wandered into the kitchen at Grey Gables and actually talked to Ian about Helen?
Ian was 'family friend' enough to be at Peggy's birthday party that didn't happen so is no one curious about why he's no longer been Helen's friend for months before the stabbing? Is he Henry's godfather?

Gumpendorf · 18/05/2016 12:10

I might be alone here but I do not understand the emphasis on Hellin saying I'll kill him. If I was on any jury, and that had been said in the heat of the moment I would not take that as a clear intention to kill archers shit
Doesn't it show intent? Helen said it one week and stabbed him the next. Hence the attempted murder charge. The police/CPS know it's flimsy, hence the wounding charge.

I find the lack of concern about the birth and Helen's MH irritating given it was all everyone spoke of before the stabbing. It's another (and there are loads) example of lack of continuity that makes listening such a frustrating experience.

I do wish whoever had designed the Bull Archers emoticon had ever seen a bull, or even a picture of one. That's clearly either a moose or a bio hazard symbol. Bull's heads AFAIK don't go in above the muzzle then flare out, they are more of a triangle like this.

BYOSnowman · 18/05/2016 14:12

It's a basic diagram of the reproductive system. Of a woman. Not a bull.

On a phone anyway - it comes up as a couple of ml square

Better to have something than nothing! I can't imagine designing something for that many pixels is easy!!

Ragginis · 18/05/2016 15:22

This is so frustrating - why hasn't a single person said something along the lines of

'so! Self defence, eh? do you want to flesh that out a bit?, tell us how he made you feel threatened?'

If she were my daughter and I only had the evidence her family currently has, I'd be frantically trying to get her to either plead guilty to lessen the sentence or to spend every second building a case. Armed with their current knowledge 'not guilty' is an bonkers plea and Anna is doing nothing about it. IT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE.

AskingForAPal · 18/05/2016 16:05

Ragginis (I think you might be from the same neck of the woods as me!) - I know! What I can't believe is no-one's said, "So, your very small child was in the room. Did you a) decide in cold blood this was a smashing time to do in your husband? b) feel like he was in danger, at all?"

BertrandRussell · 18/05/2016 16:18

Or even "when you say Rob mustn't have the baby and the children need to be kept safe- what do you mean?"

AskingForAPal · 18/05/2016 16:19

Exactly Bertrand, instead apparently that's the perfect time to give a reply like: "Ok Helen, I'm off now. Tara."

Ragginis · 18/05/2016 16:40

It's maddening. It doesn't even do anything to add to the dramatic tension for rating bating - it just prevents the suspension of disbelief and makes me want to, well, stab people. After months of subtlety and nuance why would anyone involved be behaving in the way they are??

It's utterly freakish that nobody has said 'Quick Q if I may Hel; Er- Why?'

In the space of a couple of days she went from gas lit frightened mouse to steely resolved Jess hunter to deliberately taunting him with Tuna boak during the process of leaving to stabby nutcase to babbling wet fish. Infuriating.

This. With bells on.

GypsyFl0ss · 18/05/2016 17:51

Or as we say where I'm from...with Knobs on Grin

DadDadDad · 18/05/2016 18:59

...and a dollop of custard, Gypsy Grin

GypsyFl0ss · 18/05/2016 19:37

Urgh, that's a grim mental image, thanks DDD!

Gruach · 18/05/2016 19:37

Poor Lilian ...

GypsyFl0ss · 18/05/2016 19:40

I am worried about her.

shinynewusername · 18/05/2016 19:44

This is why I find it hard to listen to - it feels like it is being written by someone who doesn't listen the The Archers

This. A thousand times this.

Minimammoth · 18/05/2016 19:51

Lil's not right is she?

GypsyFl0ss · 18/05/2016 19:57

I can't decide if she's lonely or brewing something nasty. I think the whole lung cancer could be an excellent storyline but I thought that about Helrob...

GypsyFl0ss · 18/05/2016 19:58

Maybe it was a bit of misdirection and JDarling is going to have heart attack at their 40th bash.

Gruach · 18/05/2016 20:06

Well it's definitely something bad. If any sibling of mine started bleating about how lovely and kind I am - I'd know I won't see another Christmas.

And Mungo needs both his Ambridge grannies.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 18/05/2016 20:11

They were really corpse-baiting us with Peggy's journey, weren't they?

Scarydinosaurs · 18/05/2016 20:32

Place marking as about to listen...
