"Get outta my village" screams Peggy Mitchell

Thanks for the MBU link Gasp0de; that was very interesting reading.

Saker · 17/05/2016 16:58

Delurking to say when Peggy said if Tony won't go to Helen with her she would ask Jennifer or Lilian, it made me think - why are Jennifer and / or Lilian not already offering to go to Helen for the birth? Surely if her mother can't go, an aunt would be the next best thing and I would have thought it would be just up Jennifer's street (though less so Lilian's). Surely anybody Helen knows would be better than nobody and I think Jenny darling would actually be quite good in that situation and quite comforting.
I think it is a bit odd how little they have been round to offer comfort and support anyway.

I'm wondering if the mysterious Miles is going to be the key to resolving the whole HelRob saga, if only for now. He may come out of the woodwork with a killer piece of evidence about how Knob abused previous girlfriends, or tried the handing-victim-the-knife tactic with him, or abused another child or something, and with one bound Helen will be free. I suspect SOC may want what he will view as a dramatic dénouement just before he leaves, and probably won't worry too much about whether it is in any way credible.

Gruach · 17/05/2016 17:39

Oh my! Extract of Helen and Anna on PM now. "What is life like for a pregnant woman in prison?" Expert from Liv. University.

bilbodog · 17/05/2016 18:14
Archers Just wanted to try it out!
SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 17/05/2016 19:09

If pat asks where's the justice one more f*cking time ....

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/05/2016 19:10

Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrghhhhhh Pat!!!

And, what are the the Bridge Farm organic cattle doing on Adam's non-organic pasture?!?

MrsArthurShappey · 17/05/2016 19:10

Is Kirsty a witness for the prosecution? Surely she makes the most sense as a birth partner! Why has she not been to visit?

Boomingmarvellous · 17/05/2016 19:10

Oh do shut up Pat! If you had taken off your robot head and asked yourself why your daughter was having such a personality change you may have cottoned on the perfect knob was a controlling shit.

Boomingmarvellous · 17/05/2016 19:11

Kirsty and pat are both witnesses for the prosecution.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 17/05/2016 19:12

Pat, have a word with yourself for chrissake.

GypsyFl0ss · 17/05/2016 19:17

Poor Tony having to listen to her go on and on.

ColdTeaAgain · 17/05/2016 19:18

Ffs this is mindnumbing. How many more episodes of Pat wailing and whining?!

R4 · 17/05/2016 19:22

You've all beaten me to it! I was going to ask D^3 to open a book on how many times Pat says "it's not fair / it's so unjust" before the trial.
She is such a major idiot. All that breast-beating about she failed her little girl. What about her boys - she's failed them big time too. Don't they count equally, Mrs Feminist? Was Tony involved in this parenting too or is Pat airbrushing out his input to his face : feminist fail, wife fail.
Ugh. Get yourself of to the nuns again and stop subjecting us to this.

EasyToEatTiger · 17/05/2016 19:23

Are there only witnesses for the prosecution? Pat was not a witness, and nor was Kirsty. Neither were there. Surely it takes a bit more than simply saying x y & z are witnesses for the prosecution. There is nothing in it for either to stand against their family/friend when they had nothing to do with the event in hand, I would have thought. The whole thing makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. I really can't see the point. Is there any?

LyndaNotLinda · 17/05/2016 19:26

Why are they torturing us with PatWhine four days on end??! Aargh

mummytime · 17/05/2016 19:28

Pat witnessed Helen say "I'll kill him" about Rob (premeditation).
Kirsty was the first on the scene and spoke to Helen.
Henry was the only one there at the time of the crime, except Rob and Helen.

AugustaFinkNottle · 17/05/2016 19:29

Witnesses for the prosecution don't have to be present when the crime was committed. Pat is witness to the fact that Helen said she wanted to kill Rob, and will probably be called on to say that she never saw any problem in the relationship and never thought he was a threat to Helen at the time. Kirsty is a witness because she was first on the scene, called the police, can talk about times and what she found.

BeauGlacons · 17/05/2016 19:32

Pat is clearly not coping. I don't think it would fall on Lillian or Jennifer really - they are Tony's sisters rather than Pat's.

At this rate Pat won't be fit to look after Henry when the status, quo changes.

AugustaFinkNottle · 17/05/2016 19:32

Pat's views about the role of prison authorities are truly amazing. Does she seriously think that they have nothing better to do with their time than to phone their charges' rellies regularly to tell them that their loved ones are fine and haven't gone into labour?

The only time I agreed with Pat tonight was when she said she'd let Helen down with reference to Rob. OK, Rob gaslighted her as well as Helen, but really it's ridiculous to be moaning on about how she misses her when she was perfectly happy to leave her on her own locked up like a Stepford wife for weeks on end.

EsmesBees · 17/05/2016 19:36

Oh it's just so tedious. And so selfish. Whining on and on about the injustice of it all when she could be actually doing something to help. Maybe staring by supporting either her son who is drowning under a huge workload or her grandson who is obviously really upset about the pigs.

EasyToEatTiger · 17/05/2016 19:39

Are there witnesses for the defence too? I wish Jess would turn up. Helen was locked up for a good 6 months and when she was out, treated quite clearly like a bitch on heat.

EasyToEatTiger · 17/05/2016 19:48

I am sooo fed up with the relentlessness of the story-line and the bizarre lack of communication and the total lack of hope. Really this SL is without light. This may well be the death knell of my listening to TA. So much else to do. 144 minutes a week. I love this thread, I really do, and I will be sad to say goodbye.

FiveShelties · 17/05/2016 19:49

I cannot decide which is worst at the moment -- The Archers or Coronation Street. Why do I keep on listening/watching? Confused

tibbawyrots · 17/05/2016 19:53

I've a map of Ambridge. I'm going to drive up there and push Pat into the silage or shoot her or something. If I can get Pip at the same time it'll be a bonus. Archers

I can neither drive not do I have a gun but I can't stand the incessant whining.

Pat failed her when she didn't just pop in to see her pregnant daughter ever when Rob said that she was at home resting.
