I know all kinds of things are possible, but the theory that Henry wielded the knife seems too far-fetched.

FiveShelties · 17/04/2016 16:57

Rob woudn't have stabbed himself after Helen wounded him sightly ---- would he???

No surely not ----

FiveShelties · 17/04/2016 17:02

slightly not sightly

AugustaFinkNottle · 17/04/2016 17:13

Standing in the queue at the supermarket I started musing, as you do, on an Ambridge Extra/Bad Girls spin off. My theory is that Helen initially has a bad time in prison due to her middle class accent and conviction that no accused woman has ever been separated from her child, ever. Then the violent woman thug with a heart of gold and a love of organic cheese takes her under her wing and the two motherly gay types follow her lead. Thugette gets her contacts outside to ask around and dig up details of Knob's violent past, and they also find Stefan. They find out everything Knob has done and fit him up with a few more offences designed to put him in the must humiliating light possible. Helen is triumphantly vindicated, and devotes the rest of her life to improving conditions in women's prisons.

EBearhug · 17/04/2016 17:27

There's going to be an illicit cheesemaking ring in this prison, right?

AugustaFinkNottle · 17/04/2016 17:44

Of course! And maybe Eddie can smuggle in some cider to go with it.

mummytime · 17/04/2016 18:18

That plot sounds worth listening too - if cheesy.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 17/04/2016 19:05

Jow long before they gind the tin the money was in in George's room.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 17/04/2016 19:07

So that's what Ian thinks.Hmm

Stickerrocks · 17/04/2016 19:12

Or Small they discover that the tin is in the bottom of Linda's woodburner?

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 17/04/2016 19:17

Will be a bit oeeved if it is George. Why, just because he is a Grundy should he be a thief? Would be almost understandable if having heard talk of people being short of money he took it to give them but not to spend on himself.

Abraid2 · 17/04/2016 19:18

Helen loves Henry more than anything else in the world. If she could, she would do or say anything to help get herself off, and return to look after him. Probably perjure herself.

So, if she isn't doing that, I can only conclude the only reason is, again, that she loves Henry more than anything else in the world. And she can only defend herself by telling the truth--that he was responsible.

LyndaNotLinda · 17/04/2016 19:40

Urgh - so irritated by Patbot and Tone being so bloody wet. As least Tom is defending her (but NewTom is such a dreadful actor, he doesn't sound remotely convincing).

Is the current Hell - no visitors and Rob - in a coma storyline purely because the actors are having a well-earned rest?

FurryGiraffe · 17/04/2016 19:41

(De-lurking again)

Surely if Henry were responsible he'd have had a fair amount of blood on him? So if Henry was responsible Helen would have to have cleaned Henry up and disposed of his clothing before calling Kirsty (or at least before Kirsty arrived). If she'd put them in the bin they would surely have been found pretty quickly. She'd also have had to wipe his fingerprints off the knife. Again, the absence of prints would surely have been commented on (although maybe not in Archers-land). To me she didn't sound remotely calm and rational enough to attempt a cover-up- let alone carry it out successfully.

Louiza Patikas is on maternity leave hence why Hell is so quiet, I understand. We'll hear from her again in 6-10 months I suppose.

Girlwhowearsglasses · 17/04/2016 19:58

Are we assuming that the baby will be taken away when it's born?? They obviously haven't twigged yet. That's going to be truly awful.

R4 · 17/04/2016 20:13

Arf @ the lady at Lower Loxley Hanbury Hall with her antique damaged by ferrets.Grin

glowfrog · 17/04/2016 20:17

Not listened yet. Worried about what Ian thinks now. Confused

CuttedUpPear · 17/04/2016 20:20

I LIKE that Augusta.
Helen would sound exactly like Claire in the Community as she bewailed her plight to the uncaring inmates Grin

AnnieNoMouse · 17/04/2016 20:28

In tomorrow's episode Henwee will go to school and find out from the other children why his mummy is away and daddy is sick. Why haven't Pat et al thought this through?

That's interesting. It explains why Helen going to prison might have made a certain amount of sense, i.e. in explaining her absence for several months in the middle of a very big SL. Still wished they'd found a more realistic resolution.

elpth · 17/04/2016 20:32

I thought he was meant to be back at school last week but they've kept him off as he was too upset? Not a long term solution either way...

Abraid2 · 17/04/2016 20:39

CuttedUp, yes! Re Helen being like Clare in the C.

BeaufortBelle · 17/04/2016 20:47

Yes, you'd think there would be some professions support in place for Henry and to help Tony and Pat deal with a distressed child who has seen an horrifically violent sight. It was two weeks ago now and I don't believe SS wouldn't have been in touch to arrange CAMHS referrals, etc,. Also school nursing service, etc.

AugustaFinkNottle · 17/04/2016 21:24

Good luck with a CAMHS referral this side of 2017. Unless Borsetshire is considerably better provided than the rest of the country.

PinaGrigio · 17/04/2016 21:50

Aha! Found you. Clearly I need the patented Knob track-your-thread app. God, I am getting crosser and crosser with this load of old monkeypants but of course can't quite bring myself to not listen just in case the next episode turns into something sensible. Arrrgh. DH and I used to listen to the omnibus over Sunday brunch but because we now both spend our time just shouting at the radio and making the dog hide under the table we have had to resort to listening to individual epis in secret. Like crack addicts, FGS.

So, questions that must be answered before I can calm down and stop shouting:

  • why is Pat content to have not seen her daughter for weeks when she was trapped by Knob & Arseula but is now wailing because she can't see her in prison?
  • where is Ian and why isn't he saying what a twat Knob was? And Shula?
  • Fallon had noticed Knob's way of behaving and his taking decisions over Helen's business/life. Where is she?
  • Why isn't the tracking of the phone playing a bigger part?
  • Why is no one unpicking with Henwee what has been happening?
  • Why isn't Peggy putting two and two together after living with an abusive arse herself in the shape of Jack Archer, instead of praising Knob to the skies?

On a lighter note, is it just me who thinks of Harry Hill every time I hear the name of the actress currently playing Pip?
