Gruach gets the points.
Actually, I've found out since then that AeroEng can be fairly part-time. If you work for MoD-related projects you can never take work home, for obvious security reasons. And if you work flexi-hours you can do a little extra during the week and then take Friday afternoon off and the whole department goes down the pub.

WannaBe · 11/04/2016 09:50

if Rob had been drugging Helen, is it possible that the baby could be born with some drug-related issues and as such this would then come to light?

"Alice, what the heck is that fighter jet doing in the back garden? I'm getting fed up with you bringing work home!" Grin

I missed the bit where they discovered that Rob was tracking Helen's phone. Can anyone point me to the right episode?

redshoeblueshoe · 11/04/2016 09:56

The phone tracking thing really annoyed me in the police interviews, it was like it was Helen's fault that she was been tracked. As the police know that wouldn't they still be searching BHC.

Bore The article wasn't really HellRob related, it was more Saville / Operation Midlands related. We heard from a chap who had been accused by his DC, with his ex behind it all. His complaint was that the Police were too believing of the child's testimony, didn't attempt to see the other side of the story. They were quasi-prosecution instead of impartially collecting information.
About 7:50 ish, I think.

EsmesBees · 11/04/2016 09:57

From memory Emily it was one or two episodes after The Event. One of the police officers mentioned it almost in passing.

I don't think it's hard to do if you both have iPhones. Parents I know keep tabs on their (young) teenagers via some sort of app.

redshoeblueshoe · 11/04/2016 09:58

Emily that was when she was being questioned by the police but I can't remember which day last week

EmilyDickinson · 11/04/2016 10:00

Lillian I'm not sure exactly how you do it but friends have shown me how they can locate their children's i phones (and thus their children). A map comes up on the parent's phone with their children's names showing at their locations. I can't decide if it's creepy or useful. Unfortunately in order to keep tabs on my own children I'd have to get them to help me set it up, which I don't think they'd be willing to do!

trevortrevorslatterfry · 11/04/2016 10:00

Grin R4 oh no ask me an easy one! Is she an engineer?

trevortrevorslatterfry · 11/04/2016 10:02

X-post again as I had to go and do some actual work Smile.

Honestly someone needs to have a word with my boss who keeps dragging me away from reading these mammoth threads.

Question 2: what does David do for a living?
Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/04/2016 10:04

Thanks R4 I will try to listen later.

Emily at Helln's last police interview, when they were trying to get her to say what had happened and H was all "no comment" the police officer said "We know he was tracking your phone". Presumably they discoveed the app on the phones.

Lillian phone tracking software is readily available to download. Once installed on a phone it reveals where the phone is to the person doing the tracking - it literally shows up on a map on their own phone. Knob has known exactly where H was all the time, if she had her phone with her. This explains why he was always popping up unexpectedly, eg the tea room.

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/04/2016 10:05

x posts with everyone!

R4 · 11/04/2016 10:06

Question 3: what does R4 do for a living?
Answer: at this precise moment, not a lot. I must go and do some!

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 11/04/2016 10:07

I might start tracking dh. It will save me 30p a month in "where are you text messages".

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 11/04/2016 10:07

Oh no, punctuation fail :(

DadDadDad · 11/04/2016 10:13

Thinking about it, it seems a bit of a stretch that the police would have spotted that Helen's phone was being tracked. Is that really something they would routinely look for in a case like this? They would have had to taken Helen's phone, asked her to unlock it and then looked for specific apps. I know they do that kind of fancy thing in spy dramas, but it seems a bit implausible that the local police would do it. Maybe someone with a police background could enlighten us.

It really felt like it was something dropped in for the listener's benefit, and / or to shock Helen out of saying "no comment".

mummytime · 11/04/2016 10:14

The iphone thing is easy - but you need apple family sharing I think or to make the phones opt in. I use it to find my phone using my ipad (usually the phone is lost somewhere in the car).
You can buy tags to attach to children's toys and other things that you might mislay, and they are easily tracked using a phone etc. It is pretty easy nowadays. You can even buy (or could) a Teddy with a nannycam in from Argos.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 11/04/2016 10:19

R4 ooh! ooh! I know this one!
Mopes about the farm like a wet lettuce being a pain in the @rse? Team Rooth

glowfrog · 11/04/2016 10:23

Dad good point but I'm willing to let it go if it helps them build a picture of creepy Rob. Though am sure Rob would explain it by claiming it's because she is unstable.

I would love it if they discovered cameras or drugs... If they are going for melodrama, let's go all the way if it helps get Helen off!

glowfrog · 11/04/2016 10:24

Did Helen know about the tracking, hence her forgetting her phone sometimes?

glowfrog · 11/04/2016 10:26

I have a bit of a crush on David. Or his voice anyway. Blush

DadDadDad · 11/04/2016 10:28

Yes, how frustrating for Rob to have his tracking software saying "Helen is chained to kitchen sink at home" when in fact she was with Kirsty at Grey Gables having that conversation about speaking to Jess.

Gruach · 11/04/2016 10:33

In the last few weeks I felt she was accidentally on purpose leaving her phone behind - because she knew he would be harassing her when she was out. But also, in her shoes I might have wondered why I was still allowed a phone at all - and perhaps come to the conclusion that I was being tracked.
