Rob - dead? No, no, he's, er, resting. He's just pining for the Canadian plains. As Helen is taken into custardy, discuss the Archers here.

Thanks Pseudo for the new thread & happy birthday for tomorrow. I think a lot of posts on this thread don't merit an individual response as they are observations. I'm always pleased when mine are noted although sometimes it's been because I have misunderstood something. I should really be on/in an Archers' Flouncers Corner.

Can anyone remember when the sab incident happened. Roughly. For no reason.

redshoeblueshoe · 04/04/2016 22:46

Grauch of course, I don't know how I missed that.
Kingscotte your link to the guardian made me laugh, on Sunday when Rob was slagging off Hellins chocolate-box village it felt familiar, I'd completely forgotten it was the same phrase that SOC used on WH last week.

Vango · 04/04/2016 22:48

Forget that - have found this in the Ambridge Observer from Feb 2015

…. and Shula’s seen the nasty one

It was Ash Wednesday this week, so Shula decided to give up biscuits and to unburden her sin of perjury to Caroline. ‘I lied to PC Burns,’ she confessed, ‘for the sake of the hunt. It was Rob who started it. He tried to grab the sab’s camera and punched him, hard, to the ground.’
Caroline offered to ask Oliver to give Rob a ticking-off, but Shula insisted on confronting him herself. ‘The more I think about it,’ she reported back to Caroline, ‘the more I don’t like it. The way he couldn’t conceive of being in the wrong.. it’s not healthy. I don’t like it. It was horrible. Like someone walking over my grave…’
Will it end there? Or will Rob try to silence Shula and her inconvenient conscience? Time will tell…

Thank you thank you Augusta for the Borsetpolice twittings Grin

Welcome welcome nearly all delurkers. It's lovely to see you but, now that you have revealed yourselves, you have to stay. It would be disobedient not to. And no one likes a disobedient poster

Indulgent chuckle and pat on head for D3 Wink - I love your stats, they add to the ambience^ of these threads

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY PSEUDO! Star

glowfrog you have to adjust your settings to highlight the OP's posts in a different colour (you can also set it to highlight your own). Possibly that has to be on the desktop site. But once you have done it the highlighting will show across all devices. Discovering this revolutionised MN for me!

Happy birthday pseudo! ThanksBrewCakeWine

DH has been preening himself something shocking since his: "Rob needs stabbing" of a couple, of threads ago has come to pass.

I wonder too if the wrist wound is a defensive one or if the sly fecker did it himself while "dead" in the kitchen.

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/04/2016 23:02

Gruach Grin Grin

KingscoteStaff · 04/04/2016 23:06

Thank you Gruach! That finished off the evening perfectly.

Vango · 04/04/2016 23:07

Was he not 'dead' in the hall? I thought he'd run out to chase Henry back up the stairs when it happened. I don't suppose they've got the cottage floor-plan (with expanding bedrooms) alongside the Ambridge map?

EBearhug · 04/04/2016 23:12

There are lots of versions of the Ambridge map. (I was there at Academic Archers. I know these things now.)

They'd better not put up the cottage floor-plan. I've got quite clear images in my head, and I don't want them wrecking that.

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/04/2016 23:12

To be fair though, echt, she did stab him, so not unreasonable for him to have a defensive wound. Although I like your theory.

In other news, the Helen Titchener (nee Archer) Rescue Fund have now raised in excess of £97,000 for Refuge.

Some of the messages with the donations are v poignant.

Blimey you lot are ON FIRE tonight!🔥🔥🔥I can't keep up! Thank you all who took the trouble to reply to my whitterings/welcome me Flowers

The last time I delurked I caused a thread to veer off course with a Nelson reminisce and then got behind in my listening and returned to the occasional lurk.

I am all up to date now though! I've also literally just worked out who is playing DS Hardbitch. I just don't know her name so I'll look her up on IMDb where they neglect to include appearances on the wireless heathens

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 04/04/2016 23:17

I think DS Hardbitch is Heather Pearce m.imdb.com/name/nm0668698/?ref_=m_ttfcd_cl2

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/04/2016 23:20

Oh, I remember her from London's burning - she was younger then, of course.

Clearly a woman who likes a uniform.
