Thanks to Lancelottie for the title Flowers

And what sort of a fucking message does that send? I am incandescent.

Me too.

Theleavesonthetrees · 03/04/2016 19:30

God, I amactually really angry. I stopped listening for ages after Nigel was killed off in that stupid 'Christmas special' way, only to get sucked back in by this storyline. And now, now, they have pissed all over my trust in them again with this bollocks.
Jellycake, refuge aren't advising on the story. They don't don't know the plot any sooner than the listeners do. They just advise on DV and the SW do with that what they will.

WipsGlitter · 03/04/2016 19:30

It's on listen again already.

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/04/2016 19:31

Well. Well well well.

After the years of build up, think they could have managed a better, less rushed conclusion than that.

Although, he may not be dead if he hit his head as he fell...

AugustaFinkNottle · 03/04/2016 19:31

I really don't think that was the finale. I don't think he's dead.

EsmesBees · 03/04/2016 19:32

It's just a rip off of the Little Mo EE story line. Just a different household implement.

Stickerrocks · 03/04/2016 19:32

Can we ask the police to listen to it on iPlayer?

Moomin37 · 03/04/2016 19:32

Gutted :( that wasn't how the story was supposed to end. All the good that has been achieved through this SL has potentially been lost this evening. I feel so sad.

Strangely I find knob less scary when he raises his voice - much less sinister.

buckingfrolicks · 03/04/2016 19:32

it was such an important issue - and to end it this way is a real disservice to anyone suffering abuse. Now my heart has stopped pounding, I'm raging.

lljkk · 03/04/2016 19:33

(Pseudo better be ready with next thread title!!)

I was so glad when she called him out on his mind games & directly accused him of sabotaging things.

Police would have to investigate, though, surely some part of Knob's past stuff, like the financial irregularities & the culvert blocking, would be revealed?

Would a person (Hell) go from so much apparent denial to all & sundry (2 days ago) & so much denial to even herself only a week ago, to snapping like this? Does that ring remotely true?

I can't think of a single SL outcome from the unwitnessed stabbing that I'm interested in listening to. :( & FFS, Pat & Tony. As if they hadn't suffered enough.

PenelopePitstops · 03/04/2016 19:33

I hope he isn't dead.

Court case would be awful.

OneMoreStepAroundTheBendIGo · 03/04/2016 19:33

Isn't there silence rather than music at the end if someone dies? Don't think he's dead. Henry didn't say anything about blood, which you'd expect if Rob was bleeding profusely.

Slightly concerned my neighbours will think something's going on in my house with the screams they must have heard from me during TA.

enochroot · 03/04/2016 19:33

I don't think he's dead. He'll get up again like Rasputin - and he hasn't suffered enough yet.

EsmesBees · 03/04/2016 19:33

Really hope you are all right and he is not dead. Because otherwise Henry is going to have a very tough time growing up.

firesidechat · 03/04/2016 19:34

I can't believe that they have done this. The only thing that made me and many others keep going with the storyline was to see a satisfying and humiliating end to Rob and this is what they give us.

I haven't listened by the way and am just relying on this thread for my info.

He won't be dead, but why oh why does Helen have to face the consequences of his actions. It's all wrong.

Signed
A deeply upset listener.

Gruach · 03/04/2016 19:34

Are we placing bets on degree of deadedness?

Putthetulipsthere · 03/04/2016 19:34

A complete cop out. I thought this was meant to be a SL showing women what to do if they are in a similar situation to Helen's. Ie how to get out safely, how to protect your child etc. Instead of which we have Helen facing manslaughter charge ( or murder depending on Arsula's lawyers). and if he's not dead, other charges I guess.

And of course the fact Henry witnessed it all.

I stopped listening in January, then started again shortly after.

Really wish I hadn't.

YesterdayOnceMore · 03/04/2016 19:35

And Henry's reaction was totally unrealistic too- he father just shouted at him and came at him with a knife, then his mother stabbed his father and he fell to the floor. Henry saw it all. Even if he didn't quite understand, it would still be extremely scary and make him cry at the very least. He's five!

Stickerrocks · 03/04/2016 19:37

Listening to the last few minutes again. Poor Henry definitely saw it all. She got him once, paused so she could apologise and he spoke, then went for him properly.

redshoeblueshoe · 03/04/2016 19:37

sticker Grin
Wine for all of us who had the misfortune to listen tonight.
I hope Psuedo hasn't gone out, as this thread will be full very very soon

kippersyllabub · 03/04/2016 19:38

Actually, the fact henry witnessed it could be the thing that saves Helen

easteralready · 03/04/2016 19:38

My God, is that it?? Is he dead?

EasyToEatTiger · 03/04/2016 19:38

Most people aren't very good at diagnosing death. Just think of all those poor people who have been buried alive. I don't think we've seen the last of Rob yet. Oh noooooooo.

Toomuchtea · 03/04/2016 19:38

Really unimpressed - and they have lost a future listener in my DD, who listened for the first time in years and said when it ended (and she does not know the history of the recent editorship) - "Oh how stupid - that's the sort of thing they do in Eastenders."

She wanted Helen to get away and Rob exposed for the knob he is/was.

Me too.

Gherkinsmummy · 03/04/2016 19:39

Ugh. Even though I want Rob deaded, not like this! It's just rubbish. Badly done SOC.
