Helen knows she's not cracking up - Knob is an eggomaniac.

Are we eggshausted with this storyline?

Oh and congratulations on the ⭐️⭐️ 50th thread ⭐️⭐️

Happy Easter! Easter Grin

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 27/03/2016 12:17

raising awareness. This should be condensed and played to 14 year olds so that girls in particular can see what is normal and what isn't in a relationship.

Yes yes yes!

redshoeblueshoe · 27/03/2016 12:20

Bore I didn't know Rob was married to Helen Grace, do you think she shudders if he says Helen Darling Easter Grin weirdly his real wife looks like how I imagine Hellin looks.

Joskar we are havinf family round for dinner - I need them gone by 7 Easter Smile

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/03/2016 12:29

I was surprised to learn that he is in his 50s!

How old do we think Knob is supposed to be? I'm thinking 40s - deffo older than Hellin.

Imbroglio · 27/03/2016 12:29

Peggy was married to an abusive alcoholic, at a time when women had to out up and shut up.

JessTitchener · 27/03/2016 12:38

Incredibly late place mark. You guys are getting hard to keep up with.

Putthetulipsthere · 27/03/2016 12:41

I am staying with family for whole Easter weekend. I keep needing to sneak off to check in here. We are having Easter meal about 6 ish tonight, I'm already wondering if anyone will notice if I disappear around 7 (probably not!)

YY I think Hellin will go to Kirsty rather than Pat or Tony. I think it will take a long time for Pat to acknowledge true dreadfulness of the situation

BitOutOfPractice · 27/03/2016 12:41

I see the article says "as the storyline approaches its chilling climax" so it must be ending with SoC's departure

Imbroglio · 27/03/2016 12:44

I think the fallout from this will be incredibly hard for Pat. She gets things wrong with Helen all the time but she does love her and desperately wants her to be happy.

glowfrog · 27/03/2016 12:48

Pat disagreed with the homebirth - that's what Helen went off the handle about with her. Hopefully she will remember that and feel she CAN talk to Pat.

EasyToEatTiger · 27/03/2016 12:50

Luv luv luv the shepherd hut picsGrinGrin

Boomingmarvellous · 27/03/2016 13:02

I'm thinking it will be a r&h free night tonight. Knob needs to go off and rethink his strategy as Hellin is finding herself again and he can't have that.

Think we all need a break anyway Grin

Bring on egg and gardengate

Imbroglio · 27/03/2016 13:12

... but we need to know whether Rob cooked dinner or not!

selsigfach · 27/03/2016 13:17

Bet anything he didn't rustle up a Tom Archer sausage fest with scotch egg on the side!

PseudoBadger · 27/03/2016 13:20

The end of Friday's was so sad. "Normal" relationship - "yeah I lay down all afternoon. So what? Also, please can you make dinner, or if you can't be bothered choose a takeaway".

I hope Helen gets a chance of such normality some day.

It occurred to me this morning: it was Ursula who wound up Henwee about the BS. There had been no sign of Henwee being particularly upset until he got angsty just before the tea party. Who was around then? - only Helen, Henry, Pat and ... you know who.
She dropped the bombshell as a parting gift. As someone said previously, Rob has been played by his 'D'M.

I agree.

JasperDamerel · 27/03/2016 14:15

I was googling for Rob and Helen stories earlier today, and found a discussion from when they got married in which a significant minority of posters liked Rob and we're hoping for a happy and stable future for Helen. Did many people really feel that way at the time? I remember being horrified by way he'd completely ignored Helen's wishes.

SliceOfLime · 27/03/2016 15:16

Jasper I can't remember what I thought when they got married - definitely thought it was weird and all driven by him, but I can't remember how much of his controlling behaviour we'd seen by then. Maybe at that stage it would only have seemed like an indicator of abuse if you already know what you're looking for, and I freely admit that before listening to this, I wouldn't have known anything about EA.

Thanks for the link to the Rob interview Bore , it was really interesting and the thought of the 'chilling climax' has my stomach churning or it could be the huge lunch I just ate I remember hearing Timothy Watson on another radio 4 programme about 6 months ago reading out Shackleton's diary of Antarctic exploration and it really freaked me out, I rang my mum to shriek "Rob Titchener's on the radio pretending to be someone else!!" Grin

I probably won't get to listen til late this eve (kids bedtime and poorly baby) so I'll be checking here first to see if I need Wine at the ready...

recyclingbag · 27/03/2016 15:29

I remember the conversations about the wedding and whether it was romantic or not.

From the beginning he has reminded me of my friend's twunt of an ex-husband. She also had a very hurriedly planned wedding with none of her friends present on his request. after r&h wedding I texted her in an 'I told you so' fashion even though she doesn't listen. Lots of people disagreed at the time.

Her mother still refuses to admit that Rob is actually abusive.

recyclingbag · 27/03/2016 15:31

It was the 'little miss tiddly ' that did it for me. Angry

enochroot · 27/03/2016 15:33

He'd shown plenty of form before they got married - criticising her dresses, insisting on steaks for Ian & Adam, had the punch up with Ian, smuggled Tom out of the country, stuffed the culvert.

Stickerrocks · 27/03/2016 15:38

I wonder if the Daily Mail read up on Helrob & the conspiracy theories doing the rounds by reading through our threads. They were out of date on his job, but picked up the drugging & murderous tendencies ideas.

EasyToEatTiger · 27/03/2016 16:19

I think the Chilling Climax will be something like Helen finds a letter from the school accepting Henwee. Or something like it.
