Helen knows she's not cracking up - Knob is an eggomaniac.

Are we eggshausted with this storyline?

Think he'll present hospital birth to Pat as him having persuaded Hellin?

nippiesweetie · 29/03/2016 19:16

ColdTeaAgain Any chance it was Rob Anybody? No, I guess not. Probably ''those Button girls'.

Stickerrocks · 29/03/2016 19:17

His reasonableness can only last so long. He can only keep up the act for short bursts before he comes out with another piece of venom. Two or three days at best, then he'll be worse than before.

Gruach · 29/03/2016 19:17

Seriously, Pat must have suffered a blow to the head.

Asking Rob about yoghurt quantities?

Being nasty about Helen behind her back?AngryAngryAngry

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 29/03/2016 19:19

oh dear god I can see it now...

He will either take her to a secluded cottage for her birthday, bring on prem labour and deliver the baby himself or pretend to take her away and do the above. Ursula will appear snapping on rubber gloves

Elendon · 29/03/2016 19:19

The abuse of women on this thread is appalling.

Especially given the story line.

Elendon · 29/03/2016 19:21

I don't think for a moment Helen is going to a cosy romantic cottage with Rob.

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 29/03/2016 19:21

I have the birth scene in The Miniaturist running through my mind

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 29/03/2016 19:22

I don't think that's fair, Elendon. I think there's a reasonable point to make here that the SWs have let Tony remarkably well off the hook of late, but Pat is undeniably being incredibly unhelpful and obtuse, and yes, she's a woman, but she's also the main, and very frustrating, voice that we keep hearing in support of Rob.

And Peggy was foul!

Make a case that the SWs are not bringing in any male characters to this narrative, fine - but it seems perfectly natural and not 'abuse of women' for frustrated listeners to comment on the behaviour from Pat and Peggy which is quite actively making the situation worse.

Gruach · 29/03/2016 19:22

Think of it as a cricket bat to Pat's script if you prefer Elendon.Angry

AnnieNoMouse · 29/03/2016 19:22

God, he is so clever. As he pushes her head under the water.
Mrs Campbell - I was fully expecting that to happen Shock

GrumpyOldBag · 29/03/2016 19:24

I missed the first 10 minutes, what happened with pat and rob?

Is it worth listening again?

Got the end stuff about the hospital birth.

Putthetulipsthere · 29/03/2016 19:24

I'm glad Hellin stood her ground, but her gratitude to Knob for agreeing with her was so sad.

I think he will still try to make her have a home birth. One way or another.

Putthetulipsthere · 29/03/2016 19:26

The bit with Pat & Rob was just Pat sucking up to Rob & advising him to take Hellin away for a weekend on her birthday Grumpy. I wished I wasn't listening!

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 29/03/2016 19:26

Yes Annie and MrsC I thought that too!

spiker · 29/03/2016 19:28

Where is Tom??

AugustaFinkNottle · 29/03/2016 19:28

Still think it seems too obvious to blame Alf for the church money theft. Not sure who else I think it would be though!

Knob must be feeling the pinch a bit financially ...

spiker · 29/03/2016 19:28

Toby??

Elendon · 29/03/2016 19:29

A hairdresser at the hairdressers I used to go to was killed with a cricket bat to the head, by her ex. She had two beautiful children.

Imbroglio · 29/03/2016 19:30

I think Helen is still much stronger. She is starting to understand how rob thinks and how to bring these dangerous moments to a safe conclusion.

lljkk · 29/03/2016 19:30

Think he'll present hospital birth to Pat as him having persuaded Hellin?

Deffo, he can't miss that opportunity.

Stickerrocks · 29/03/2016 19:31

We have the same level of annoyance with Tom, Elendon, for failing to follow up on each of Knob's digs at his sausages, at Johnny for his temporary Knob worship and Ian/Adam/David/Charlie for their general lack of interest. Unfortunately, the SW have decided to remove all the male characters from this storyline and only use Pat and Kirsty as Helen's potential lifelines. We did get quite indignant with Ian a couple of months ago when he let Rob trample all over him without bopping him on the nose. We'll howl with frustration at anyone who gets taken in by his charm.

You might all give biscuits out and wish this would end, but domestic violence is both insidious and overt at the same time.

Nobody should be critical of any woman caught up in it. Relatives, friends, midwives, consultants, councillors.

lljkk · 29/03/2016 19:35

I think consensus is that the homebirth idea is just a mindgame, to toy with her, make her look more irrational to professionals & her family, keep her unsure of being able to choose for herself what's best, make her think she should rely only on Knob & not trust anyone else to know what's best for her.
