Not long until our thread's 3 year birthday!

I missed the first couple of minutes - do we know what actually happened with the bath?

spiker · 04/03/2016 20:18

It started with U pitching up with henry

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 04/03/2016 20:18

So, in one breath Arula tells the Bridge Farmbots that she hasn't had time to have a drink since lunchtime, so busy has she been with shopping and cleaning and everything, but next breath 'worrying' that Hellin has been so lax with her housekeeping. Surely Pat would be wondering why Arse was still there if the housekeeping is all down to Hel? Do these people never speak up and ask questions? It's a big pile of steaming bullshit.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 04/03/2016 20:19

I did type 'Arseula' but spellcheck overruled me

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/03/2016 20:20

The introduction of Ursula really has tipped it over into farce.

R4 · 04/03/2016 20:24

I missed the first couple of minutes - do we know what actually happened with the bath?

We heard Ursula's version of events. Need I say more?Hmm

Wordsaremything · 04/03/2016 20:24

As a survivor I find this horribly compelling. Suspect hennwee was lowered into slightly too hot bath - cue Ursula and knob... I find Ursula so believable wonder if someone on writing team has seen her in action.

I did predict this but got no response at all. It's believable. Those of you who think not are so lucky.

spiker · 04/03/2016 20:28

Every now and then I think, surely, surely it won't turn out that H is being drugged? that would be such a melodramatic cop out.

Surely the SWs wouldn't do that???

enochroot · 04/03/2016 20:36

I don't like to allow Rob an excuse for his behaviour but if Ursula has been this manipulative all his life then he has been learning from a supreme champion.
She's neatly set Helen up by telling Pat/Tone that she's not coping with shopping and cleaning, losing her temper and keeping info from them about Henry allegedly bullying. She lugs him into their house with a story they can't contradict about Helen being so careless that H is allegedly scalded and sounds as though she's reassuring them!

Helen is once more the victim of her own past so that Tony advocates keeping away from

Gruach · 04/03/2016 20:40

I am finding Ursula's existence - at Blossom Hill - very hard to understand Words.

Though I have wondered if Miles might be both gay and determinedly unpartnered and unfatherly. (As well as probably rather nice.) Rob's homophobia is not "natural" (I mean for his age and class) it's almost like something he's been taught. Are we supposed to understand that it is Ursula who has driven him to go to such lengths to procure a Titchener grandchild?

(I feel silly positing such a ridiculous plot - but I'm really beginning to struggle here.)

BYOSnowman · 04/03/2016 20:44

Agree - it's almost like some sinister plot is going to be uncovered. Do we know that ursula is actually his mother?

WipsGlitter · 04/03/2016 20:49

I do think she's being drugged. He's always proffering tea and telling her to drink up. But it will be "you were so tense darling I was just trying to relax you"

I missed tonight's so have no clue what's going on!!

BertrandRussell · 04/03/2016 20:49

Yes, yes, it's all Ursula's fault. Angry

TASWAMA

BYOSnowman · 04/03/2016 20:53

Thank god you're here Bertrand - my head has been ready to explode as your acronym has been highly necessary pretty much everyday this week!!

I can't wait for soc to leave

BertrandRussell · 04/03/2016 20:55

Feel free to use it whenever necessary, BYO!

BYOSnowman · 04/03/2016 21:05

It just sounds better when it comes from you!

Imbroglio · 04/03/2016 21:11

who the fuck grabs a child and whisks them off like that?

Interesting insight from Emma about Xanthe - is Henry emulating Rob at school?

Butteredparsnips · 04/03/2016 21:12

well that was a steaming pile. After this week I sooooo want Jazzer to be the catalyst. How about it Keri?

And while your at it, Ursula doesn't need to be in it. Ever again. Just like Stephan, and the culvert, and anything else inconvenient.

Trojanhorsebox · 04/03/2016 21:29

So Pat & Tony are worried now, in addition to Tom & Kirsty. Wouldn't it be great if these people ever met in real life or had access to things like phones so they could have a bit of a chat about things?????? I get the awkwardness between Tom & Kirsty, but really, everyone else???

Helen is under house arrest, noone ever sees her, or if they do, they comment she looks ill, not her normal self.

Rob was not well liked when he arrived and even people who are prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt must be able to see how controlling he is.

Why is noone questioning that Helen never sees Ian - they're supposed to be best friends, Pat seems to think they still are.

If Emma is aware of Henry's changed behaviour, other people must be too, surely someone would question what's going on at home for the poor lad............aaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhhh..........

spiker · 04/03/2016 21:33

I agree with Imbroglio - you wouldn't dash off with a child like that unless it was an extreme situation, which it wasn't. In RL it would occur to pat and tony at some point that it was OTT and controlling.

echt · 04/03/2016 21:46

Having just heard the ep here in Au, I was near spitting out my brekkie at Ursula's comments about Helen's housekeeping. What the flaming feck is she there to do?

Imbroglio · 04/03/2016 21:50

Bit risky taking Henry to Bot Farm though? Would Rob have wanted P & T to be alerted to a problem?

enochroot · 04/03/2016 23:07

They have been alerted to a problem though. They've now been made to think that Helen is a danger to her own child and that he's safer out of the house rather than left with a volatile mother who forced him into a hot bath. Also that Helen is incapable of keeping the house clean and simple shopping for basics.

enochroot · 04/03/2016 23:33

In fact Henry's served his purpose and it won't bother them greatly if Pat chooses to keep him at Bridge Farm because there's now plenty of false trail laid that Helen's unfit to look after a child.
Looking after Henry will also keep Pat busy and not nosing around Blossom hill Cottage.

But it is a load of bollox because it's now all contrived to fit in with whatever SOC has in mind as his Big Finish.

Imbroglio · 05/03/2016 00:05

Maybe ursula or rob turned off the cold water while Helen was distracted?
