Not long until our thread's 3 year birthday!

Yes, Pat does love Kirsty. So Pat would be a better person for Kirsty to confide in re Helen.

I worry that Tom & K will start putting the Knob situation together only for any significant action to be thwarted by Tom deciding (again) that he wants her for his sausage queen (again) and Kirsty backing away as fast as she can.

God forbid that an Ambridge male and female could actually just become mature, caring friends.

As for Jonny and Knob (and how glad are we that we didn't have to listen to that conversation/sermon?), surely Rob suggested the finance module because he knows Jonny would fail? After all, he wants him off the farm asap, doesn't he?

BYOSnowman · 04/03/2016 09:43

Yes I think that's right - and also because that's what he would have chosen and he can't understand why someone else wouldn't

Johnny can always do a finance course that doesn't jeopardise his exams

Gruach · 04/03/2016 09:52

Oh he absolutely was setting Johnny up to fail and be sent away in disgrace. But then, if he had unexpectedly passed Rob would be able to argue that he should go elsewhere to get some experience.

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2016 10:14

Agree Liliian and BOOP for Tom being an "enabler" with Johnny. Great stuff !

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/03/2016 10:23

I liked the way Tom handled that.

Anybody else notice mention of a pothole on the Bridge Farm drive? That's got to be significant in some way, hasn't it?

Marchate · 04/03/2016 10:28

That pothole. It's an enigma

R4 · 04/03/2016 10:31

Like a sink-hole enigma?
enigma-schmynigma, as pseudo would say. Or would it be sinkhole-schmynkhole?

DadDadDad · 04/03/2016 10:33

pothole / plothole

squeaver · 04/03/2016 10:44

The sink hole returns!

Boomingmarvellous · 04/03/2016 11:01

I'm with the sociopath theory re rob. You don't need to torture animals to be one. Just superficially charming, non empathetic, highly manipulative, selfish and needing to be in control. Sums him up.

Brilliant TV program a while back, called I think, the psychopath among us, which explains them very well. Plenty in top business roles.

enochroot · 04/03/2016 11:31

The road to our nearest maternity unit used to be notorious for potholes!
Perhaps this is a sign that SOK is going to be premature.

Now I'm hoping that Helen goes into labour at Bridge Farm and Pat bars the door to Ursula.

BeardMinge · 04/03/2016 11:48

delurks.

I think that the homebirth will start to go pearshaped, but Arsula will insist that she knows what she's doing. Rob will finally have a moment of clarity, and realise that if he agrees with his toxic mother SOK will die. He'll rush Hellin to hospital and SOK & H will pull through, just. He will be contrite and they will all live happily ever after.

Or not.

squeaver · 04/03/2016 11:52

Hang on a minute, if she does have a home birth, surely there's going to be a midwife there? Not even Ursula and Rob would want her to give birth with no medical support at all??

enochroot · 04/03/2016 11:56

They're arrogant enough not to call the midwife and try to do it themselves.

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/03/2016 11:58

Helln will fall in the pothole, precipitating something ...

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2016 11:59

Yes especially as Arseula has been and will be scrubbing with high octane bleach\detergent Grin She's probably started boiling kettles already Grin

Gherkinsmummy · 04/03/2016 12:00

And if Helen and Tom are directors shouldn't Rob just shut up and do as he's told? It's not his shop.

MrsArthurShappey · 04/03/2016 12:12

As for Jonny and Knob (and how glad are we that we didn't have to listen to that conversation/sermon?), surely Rob suggested the finance module because he knows Jonny would fail? After all, he wants him off the farm asap, doesn't he?

Yep, this.

squeaver · 04/03/2016 12:13

She's going to fall in the pothole and Rob will blame Tony and Tom and she won't be allowed to go to Bridge Farm ever again.

squeaver · 04/03/2016 12:14

And Pat will blame Tony and Tom too.

AugustaFinkNottle · 04/03/2016 12:18

Maybe the midwife will fall down the pothole and Helen will be left to the mercy of the so renowned childbirth expert, Arsula.

WipsGlitter · 04/03/2016 12:18

Yes, I noticed the shoe-horned reference to the pothole as well!!

redshoeblueshoe · 04/03/2016 12:21

Gherkin - exactly the sw's seem to miss the obvious

BYOSnowman · 04/03/2016 12:24

Isn't jazzer still living at bridge farm? I'm surprised he hasn't said exactly what he thinks of knob to the family. He's not normally one to mince his words

Gruach · 04/03/2016 13:01

Gherkin Rob has married the shop + the rest of the BF business. And sealed the deal with his labour. In his head anyway.

Though I doubt that the SWs have actually clarified to themselves exactly where he stands legally.
