Not long until our thread's 3 year birthday!

OP posts:
BYOSnowman · 23/02/2016 12:47

Justin said he would pay for the storage so why not let him?

Toomuchtea · 23/02/2016 14:03

Yes, quite. An odd episode but at least we were spared Ursula.

ppeatfruit · 23/02/2016 14:26

Well I reckon our Lil likes "Young Men" and wants to give local boys a chance, maybe she'd be the 'sponsor' that they mentioned they needed. They could be taking some of it to Brian's and some elsewhere. who knows.

enochroot · 23/02/2016 14:33

Lillian would use specialist removers, surely, but I think it's just another type of odd job that the Chuckle Brothers do from now on instead of Grundys.

BYOSnowman · 23/02/2016 14:50

I don't get the fairbrethren and these odd jobs though. Toby is bone idle - wheeling and dealing is too much like hard work isn't it? Or do we think Rex will have to ask josh to help him?

ppeatfruit · 23/02/2016 15:02

It's called money, they are obviously kept a bit short by Daddy.

BYOSnowman · 23/02/2016 15:06

It just doesn't seem like a way they would make money though. They don't make sense as farmers either to me.

I'm surprised Toby isn't just wheedling money out of his parents. Or becoming an estate agent.

AskingForAPal · 23/02/2016 15:12

I imagine Lilian quite likes the idea of sitting out the front in a deckchair with a pitcher of G & T and a long straw watching these young rugby chaps hauling furniture about. :o

I am wondering if we are going to see Toby become the new Ed, while Ed (please!) eventually gets what he deserves and does well for himself.

BYOSnowman · 23/02/2016 15:14

As long as they don't play that out on the radio. Can you imagine the outcry if Justin asked Emma to clean the house just so he could ogle her

trevortrevorslatterfry · 23/02/2016 16:15

HULLO! and thanks for the new thread.

bilbodog · 23/02/2016 17:14

Just place marking! Thanks for the new thread - great title.

spiker · 23/02/2016 18:08

I'm not convinced by Rex and his half-assed lines of work, dossing in a caravan with annoying, work shy brother - he absolutely seems the type to need/have a steady Proper Job.

And I've said it before - eggs schmeggs.

WipsGlitter · 23/02/2016 18:09

These threads move fast!!

DSClarke · 23/02/2016 18:29

What with the Fairbrethren and Hellrob... I' switching off more and more.

Please please please can we bring back Moike. And have more Jim, Carol, Alan. Anyone else really!

BYOSnowman · 23/02/2016 19:08

Pip in love is even more irritating than usual

BYOSnowman · 23/02/2016 19:11

Lillian remembered she has a business. But she can't possibly look after it all on her own so it's a good thing there's a man willing to help her (and has better contacts than her despite her knowing the area/living there forever?)

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/02/2016 19:12

This is what Toby's actor looks like. It's not what Toby looks like. In my mind, he's Stephen Mangan.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/02/2016 19:13

To clarify - that's not Toby's actor! That's Stephen Mangan, who has no connection with TA, as far as I know.

BYOSnowman · 23/02/2016 19:15

And hasn't Rex got a bad back?

Nice to hear the sisters chat. Even if it's a bit of navel gazing

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/02/2016 19:17

Yes, I liked that bit. Sisters, brothers, mother/daughter, mother/son. A family-based episode.

BYOSnowman · 23/02/2016 19:18

Stephen mangan is quite a bit older than Toby!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/02/2016 19:20

It's the voice. Mmmmmmm. I hasten to add that Toby isn't and never has been a type that I would have gone for. But I do like his voice, and unlike some of the rest of you I have no problem telling it apart from Rex's or anyone else's. I've always been a sucker for an attractive voice. Blush

BYOSnowman · 23/02/2016 19:25

I think he sounds sleazy! I could tell him apart from Rex because he was trying to sound like Leslie Phillips

Gruach · 23/02/2016 19:34

Hmm ... I'm not mad about Toby's voice - he always sounds so impatient and patronising. (Just realised I've described myselfBlush) but if his father is assumed to be similar (and like Stephen Mangan) I can see how he would have appealed to Elizabeth.

Anyway, I am beginning to enjoy the difference in Rex and Toby's personalities - particularly Toby's headful of ideas.

tibbawyrots · 23/02/2016 19:46

Mmm Stephen Mangan. There is a tenuous TA link though... He's in "episodes" with Tamsin Greig and before that was in Green Wing with her so while he's not been in TA he works with someone that has 😆
