We love Charlie. But we want Adam and Ian to get married. What will happen in Ambridge in the pre-Christmas thread?

Just listened to Friday - we are 2 weeks from Christmas and David didn't even ask whether Ruth will be back by then?

The chill that we could actually feel at home when Rob came in!

This will also further isolate Hellin, Ian will be pissed off with her for not saying anything and Adam will be pissed off with her for telling Knob.

Poor Ian. I just don't understand why Knob would be at the stag party in the first place given the things he's said to Ian in the past.

LillianGish · 13/12/2015 19:25

Really hoping that Knob's not going to get away with it again with Ian failing to spill the beans over how he found out. Would be wonderful if he just came right out with it and told Adam and Helen, but I have a feeling we will all be screaming at the radio again and Knob's nastiness will go unmarked again.

It can't be normal to feel actually, physically sick after 13 minutes of fiction on the radio.

Ah well. The slurry is still coming for him.

Knob made out it was common gossip that Helen has spread.

Knob continuing on his gittish path, yet again.

Interestingly, is he being setup for his own hopefully imminent and if possible painful downfall by saying 'nothing stays secret in Ambridge for long'?

Hmmm, missed a bit due to intervention by DC at crucial point- didn't realise no one invited Knob

One thing the Archers is really good at is building up a dramatic situation/tension over a really long time. I love how they are just making Rob worse and worse and you just know there is going to be a total thriller of a showdown / come-uppance in a few more years

Like they did with Brine and Siobhan – brilliant.

Knob went to the stag night deliberately to do that didn't he ? And his devious nastiness will lead to a big fall out with Helen and no way will she be going to that wedding.

Yes I feel really bleurgh after listening to Rob just then. He's just so deliberately horrible. Plus the fact that his cheating on Jess with Helen, on Helen with Jess and even maybe with someone else (the Valentine's day "conference" when J came to see H) is so much more sustained cheating than one drunken new year kids (not that I am condoning any cheating but pot, kettle etc). And Rob disapproves of their relationship SO much that he won't let Helen go to the wedding, yet he invites himself to the stag just to cause trouble. Argh! I wonder what he told Helen about where he was tonight.

I know it's not real but I really, really want him to be unmasked and die a grizzly death. Well done Ian for not giving Knob the pleasure of seeing him upset. Can't wait for tomorrow!

What an utter tosspot Knob is . I do hope he gets his comeuppance soon.

Yes I agree that Joe's demise has been flagged but he can't be deaded by sitting down 'cos that's how Phil went. And he can't be deaded through lying down for a little nap 'cos that was Betty's fate. I reckon they'll find him collapsed with Bartleby , having popped out to survey his land for one last time.

Just listened in the car with DS. (18)

With him muttering "Rob must die" repeatedly.

I'd like to think that Ian and Adam can get over this, that Ian will tell Helen and then she'll see Knob for the Knob he is. I think what may happen is that Ian will call it off and not tell Adam why (no reason why this would happen, but think it might be like the attack on the hunt sab, the blocked culvert and Knob's being sacked from Berrow).

Maybe Rob will be murdered eventually a la EastEnders. The suspects list is building nicely:

Helen (motive obvious)
Adam (motive = cricket and knowledge Rob is total bastard)
Ian (motive = Helen's predicament and knowledge Rob is total bastard)
Charlie (motive = knowledge Rob is total bastard)
Pat (motive = if she ever discovers the knowledge Rob is total bastard)
Tony (motive = if he ever discovers the knowledge Rob is total bastard)
Tom (motive = if he ever discovers the knowledge Rob is total bastard)
Shula (motive = already knows Rob is total bastard and snaps)
Kirsty (motive = knowledge Rob is total bastard)
Fallon (motive = knowledge Rob is total bastard)
Emma (motive = knowledge Rob is total bastard)
Stefan (motive = returns from dead to point out Rob is total bastard)

He can't have told Helen he was going to the stag, not after the way he was slagging them off as prospective godfathers.

She's going to know he went specifically to tell Ian about Pawel & Charlie.

Surely then the scales will really start to fall from her eyes?

Report
FinestGrundyTurkey · 13/12/2015 19:39

& they can have a massive dramatic EE style emotional scene in which she will fall down the stairs & lose Robspawn

Or Ian and Adam will just get married and Ian will say nothing - I still think I heard him on the gravel when Adam was turning down Charlie - he knows Adam loves him and doesn't want to give Knob the satisfaction. So Helen won't find out - it will be yet another one of those things that someone knows about him without saying anything.

Report
FinestGrundyTurkey · 13/12/2015 19:43

At the very least Helen must find out that Rob was there! Possibly from Kirsty, via Roy?

That's Rob's revenge on Ian for punching him in front of Bradley Wiggins, isn't it? That man holds grudges a looooonnnng time.
