We love Charlie. But we want Adam and Ian to get married. What will happen in Ambridge in the pre-Christmas thread?

Just listened to Friday - we are 2 weeks from Christmas and David didn't even ask whether Ruth will be back by then?

I knew scruff wasn't dead all along. Tsk

the joy of Scruff's triumphant return does not cancel out the horror of flirty giggly Pip - can she be next in line to go in the silage thingy please....

I am a bit scared about the next episode though. Tonight's has been pretty heartwarming except flirty giggly Pip tomorrows is likely to be pretty traumatic.

Not listened to this evenings yet but if Scruff is truly alive and well then my Christmas is complete. I've been so worried about him. How/where/when did he appear? Where's he been? What happened to him? Has he been secretly sniffing round the village spying on Rob and now has enough evidence to present to everyone to publicly unmask Rob and expose him? Will we have a Lassie style episode where Scruff reveals all in a series of barks and Alastair translates making him a hero causing Shula to abandon her simmering passion for the Doctor?

I'm very tired - spent the last hour peeling veg for tomorrow

I've not listened to the last few episodes, but a big Hurrah! for the return of Scruff. I wonder what the story line point of his disappearance and reappearance is?

Thank you Joskar.

I'm planning on catching up with TA in the morning while I make stuffing. I'm really hoping Knob gets what he deserves this Christmas.

Scruff is back?! I may have to start listening again, albeit selectively.

Twould be nice to have markers at beginning of each scene in Listen Again, and be able to skip to the next scene if it makes me too shouty...

Oh there may have been something in my eye at 7.14 tonight. Had to give my collie an extra big squeeze. I'm not normally a Lynda fan but that was lovely. BOOP BOOP be doop!

You do realise that there is no way this thread will be full by Christmas, even if the rate of posting doubles from normal levels, unless you all cheat in some way.

Well, excluding the last 48 hours, the rate over the most recent threads has been about 67 posts per day. In the last 48 hours, you've managed 131 posts per day - pretty impressive! Wine

But more importantly... Scruff's back?! ShockGrin

So where did the botulism come from then if scruff is alive? What was dead in the culvert? Confused

Disclaimer, I listen to TA omnibus whilst working my OOH dental clinic on Sundays. Sometimes the drilling means I can't hear everything.

Absolutely boopity BOOP for the Christmas miracle. Even though it's totally ridiculous. But also for the bit where Leonie was nice to Lynda.

Looking forward to Joe eating goose tomorrow. Reckon there might be a boop in that.

Frightened that Knob will lash out at Hellin.

Merry Christmas!

And so, the Undead Scruff, Hellhound of Ambridge, returns.

Be afraid, Knob. Be very afraid.

(And BOOP for Lynda)

Gruach posted this definition upthread, MrsM

At the beginning of this year a poster whose name could be abbreviated as BOOP pointed out, with great eloquence and charm, that the threads were becoming rather negative and off-putting. BOOP points are like gold stars for anything in an episode or storyline (s/l) that you feel was particularly well done. (There were no actual gold stars available then.)

So was tonight's episode a 'safe' episode for someone who can't remember not listening to the Archers? The lunchtime repeat when I was very young signaled the start of quiet time (during which my mother would often have a nap), I've listened all my life apart from recently & when living abroad pre-Internet. Adding to the thread really.

Scruff!
Where has he been all this time? There was no mention of his condition. I hope Lynda doesn't get into a custody dispute with whoever has been looking after him.
What will she feed him? - will there be an emergency raid on the village shop on Christmas day or will he get the choicest cuts from the turkey.

Warm Christmassy glow here.

Wait a minute, mrsmorton, you're an out of hours dentist who works listening to TA? Shock Given the violent way some seem to respond to current storylines, I'm worried about your patients if you're drilling when Rob is nasty to Helen etc. It might really hit a nerve! Grin

Xmas Grin I love the way people are linking the return of Scruff with the oncoming downfall of Rob. Such twisty minds you have.

Was a lovely gentle episode Eastpoint. Perhaps not quite BOOP-worthy for me since we'd been waiting for the ghostly remains to turn up most of the year. And it would have been funnier if it happened during Calendar Girls. But I thoroughly empathise with the sheer relief at the return of a long gone animal.

Gruach re 16 yo's perspicacity - I think a naked WI/CG radio show could scar him for life - better he plays Call of Duty or watches a Beyonce video.

Could the large dog in the silage possibly have been a human?

Or will Scruff lead Lynda to Stephan in the culvert? Or to some buried treasure that Rob has been hiding following the poaching episodes?

And had Lynda only recently returned home after the flood? In which case was Scruff turning up there on a regular basis only to find no-one home?
