I'm another who can't listen anymore, I'm just following by reading. I don't want menace in my kitchen. I must stop the automatic podcast downloads so I'm not recorded as a listener.

DadDadDad · 29/11/2015 10:52

Blimey, I made the casual suggestion that lurkers join the discussion, then went to bed. Now, I've woken up this morning to find all these delurkers. Wonderful!

charlie0123 · 29/11/2015 11:07

De lurking to say didn't jolene look after the painting for Lilian? She knew about the affair and I'm sure she took it for her ...... May be wrong.

PseudoBadger · 29/11/2015 11:08

so lovely to see all the delurkers! Welcome to you all Wine

Thanks for the new thread Psuedo. In my head the scan was next week (but DD is having a scan on Tuesday so I might have mixed them up Grin)

DSClarke · 29/11/2015 11:40

I love the Soundcloud thing! Thank you

Gruach · 29/11/2015 12:01

Oh thank goodness!

There are such lacunae in my knowledge of popular culture; I had no idea what this thread title referred to. (Didn't like to ask ...) But, as usual after iplaying Dr Who, I hotfooted it over to the Guardian to read the series blog - and someone in the comments used the same phrase. So then I realised it was a thing and looked it up. An oratorio huh? I'm so bad at Monty Python ...

Anyway the Doctor has cheered me up and given me a break from despairing over TA.

srslylikeomg · 29/11/2015 12:17

De lurking to say I lurk. Hello! Been listening to TA since 1994. But close to giving up on it now, the flood, the bad continuity and worst of all the constant exposition in the script these days "oh hello Kirsty are you enjoying your new job at grey gables after moving back to the area but still living in felpersham" - I very much enjoy this thread! Going back to lurker's corner now !

SuffolkNWhat · 29/11/2015 12:52

long time listener, first time TA thread poster

I am hating the KnobHellâ„¢ antics now, hoping for Knob to royally fuck up his lies somewhere and big showdown to occur.

So sad at the Joe sl, why are Eddie and Clarrie giving up so easily?

Custardmiteofglut · 29/11/2015 13:05

Another lurker here, tentatively delurking.

TA has been a background part of my life for as long as I can remember, thanks to my Mum. However, she stopped listening around the time of Ruth's breast cancer - she couldn't take the endless 'ooooh nooo's and general misery.

I'm frustrated with the writing at the moment. It feels like there's too much on the go with so many storylines and none of them are drawing to a satisfactory conclusion.

It's like the SW are having fantastic brain storming sessions, writing up the start of something good, then getting bored and wandering off to the next excitment. Maybe they're being paid per thrilling storyline...

Wish they'd see things through and find some consistency. And I wish Knob would FOTTFSOFTFOSM.

TalkingTree2 · 29/11/2015 13:20

Another long-term lurker, delurking. I've had TA as a background noise to my life since I was a small child, (in the early 70s) thanks to my mother. And have listened on and off myself for about 25 years.

I'm not enjoying TA so much right now. I often end up shouting at the radio, or switching off when there is too much Knob and Hell. I find these threads more interesting than the show itself, and find myself reading here to keep abreast of what is happening rather than actually listening. Thanks Pseudo, Daddaddad et. al. If it wasn't for you I might have abandoned TA altogether.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/11/2015 13:55

Hello, lurkers everywhere! Smile

ArgyMargy · 29/11/2015 14:01

De-lurking to say I want Charlie & Adam to "scratch that itch" asap, and that I find Knob oddly appealing when he's being nice. I suspect that's a combination of good writing and good acting. I listen every night while going to sleep so often miss the ends of episodes.. Grin

HumphreyCobblers · 29/11/2015 14:37

Hello, what did Jenny give away to Rob at the end of the last episode? I can't get it to load so I can find out and the toddler kicked off just at the wrong moment so I missed it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/11/2015 15:06

She told him about mAdam's fling with Pavel the strawberry-picker. Then begged him to say nothing, ever.

As if

Grumpymoomin · 29/11/2015 15:17

Another lurker here. I've been listening for years (1986 onwards) and I am struggling like everyone else with the collective personality transplants that are taking place. None more so than Pat's. I usually reserve shouting at the radio for interviews with politicians but now TA's storylines and lack of consistency are really winding me up. This thread and Dum Tee Dum are the only reasons I'm still listening.

Minimammoth · 29/11/2015 16:26

Thank you to the finest Grundies turkey for wheeling me off the old thread. I ha e a touch of the Joe Grundy's going on Grin

TheSilveryPussycat · 29/11/2015 16:40

mine was x-posted with Finest and was a general comment on the sorry state of things

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 29/11/2015 16:42

not really a lurker, more a lazy poster

have to confess I LOVE looking at these threads when TA goes particularly batshit ie when I'm forced to switch radio over in a fury 4 minutes into an episode

I hate having my intelligence underestimated in my own kitchen

DadDadDad · 29/11/2015 16:46

Ok, so if your intelligence is being underestimated, which room do you like to be in? Grin

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 29/11/2015 16:59

oh my family are allowed to IMI in the rest of the house

but I have a sign in the kitchen (underneath my LIVE LAUGH LOVE COOK letters)

if they ignore it I flob in their egg custards

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 29/11/2015 17:00

the constant exposition in the script these days "oh hello Kirsty are you enjoying your new job at grey gables after moving back to the area but still living in felpersham"
