Wishful thinking. I think she's in it for the long haul Sad

Yup the Jill Phil Grace story line is self indulgent pants.

I am now trying to picture goose related accidents.

But does Rex actualky know about it. He seemed to wonder at Lizzies attitude to him which made me wonder if he was oblivious

choccyp1g · 18/09/2015 09:15

If they are so keen to dredge up stories from the past, his about something that is actually relevant to the current plot? Marmalade wars, Ruth's cancer, Kenton's various monetary failures all have repercussions now, unlike Jill feelings about something 60 years ago, which does not affect anyone else.

choccyp1g · 18/09/2015 09:17

how about something

enochroot · 18/09/2015 09:17

Would you tell your offspring you had an affair long in the past? Probably not.
So I doubt if Fairbrethren know their father was knocking off Lizzie.

LillianGish · 18/09/2015 10:14

Before we know it, as part of the increasing Enderisation of TA and SOC's determination to dredge up old plots, no sooner will Jill have reluctantly moved into LL than Robin Fairbrother will be reappearing to sniff round Lizzie.

ppeatfruit · 18/09/2015 11:05

Eastpoint Quite of few people go into farming enterprises hopefully ( and other businesses ) without experience or contacts a few succeed but many don't Grin at least the Fairbrethren have contacts.

InimitableJeeves · 18/09/2015 12:30

Do we think Jill will actually move out? When she started saying how she hated the thought I decided they were working up to it not happening, but then I thought it really would be staggeringly ludicrous to have three failed attempts to move people away from Brookfield. But maybe it creates its own force field so no-one can ever move away. God help poor Josh and Ben.

BYOSnowman · 18/09/2015 12:53

Robin will be in ambridge before you know it. Once the boys were introduced it was just a matter of time

Eastpoint · 18/09/2015 13:48

Ppeatfruit I guess I'm just so risk averse I wouldn't start up a company without having found some experience in the industry first. I forget how cautious I am as compared with my DH & his family I am a wild rebel Shock.

Gruach · 18/09/2015 14:12

Listening again.

How the hell can Ruairi not be going home again till half term? He's still at prep! Two and a half to three weeks at most between leaves. Unless Jenny and Brian (or some trusted friends) are planning to take him out for his compulsory leave somewhere nearer to school ...?Confused

squeaver · 18/09/2015 14:39

Yes I think much more likely that FairB Snr will pitch up at LL. What's the status with his wife? Do we know?

Poor Ruari.

EBearhug · 18/09/2015 15:30

Ruari's turning 13 soon. Surely he can cope till half term?

Gruach · 18/09/2015 15:53

Is he yr 9?

Coping isn't the point EBear. I don't know where you'd find a boarding prep that doesn't have 1or 2 compulsory (long weekend) leaves between the beginning of term and half term. They're not optional.

Gruach · 18/09/2015 15:54

Aargh! Meant yr 8 obvs.

LillianGish · 18/09/2015 17:03

Ruairi is a dramatic device who's past his sell-by date. I doubt we'll see him again until he comes to challenge Adam and Debbie for the Home Farm inheritance (though never having spent a day there he'll be lucky if he can ever find it let alone running it).

Gruach · 18/09/2015 17:04

Don't be mean! He's a real boy!

LillianGish · 18/09/2015 17:39

Do you think he's kept his Irish accent?

Gruach · 18/09/2015 17:49

Perhaps he'll come back fluent in - was it German?

Anyway, given the new TA naval gazing over deceased females ... Dead Mistresses Translate No Tales; Why Siobhan HAD to Die. - Coming to a radio near you pdq ...

LillianGish · 18/09/2015 18:11
Grin
LyndaNotLinda · 18/09/2015 18:36

The endless trails for tomorrow afternoon's Grace Archer play are doing my head in.

I don't bloody care. And if someone who has barely missed an episode for nigh on 30 years doesn't care, I don't think anyone else will either.

Why has R4 commissioned this? I'm at a loss. I agree with you choccyp1g - there are so many more interesting and recent storylines they could have revived. Rather than this and bloody Robin F.

Incidentally, did Lizzie know he was married? I can't remember but think she did. Then again, that doesn't seem to make much of a difference to her

LillianGish · 18/09/2015 18:47

I don't bloody care. And if someone who has barely missed an episode for nigh on 30 years doesn't care, I don't think anyone else will either. How true.

AskingForAPal · 18/09/2015 18:54

Yeah afraid I don't care either. Even my parents are probably too young to remember. Maybe they should have done something for the 50th?

PlayingSolitaire · 18/09/2015 18:55

When was the Elizabeth - Robin Fairbrother affair. I have been listening my whole life but can't remember it! I remember David and Ruth hooking up and Pip being born though.

Elizabeth got pregnant by Cameron Fraser, was it before that?

BYOSnowman · 18/09/2015 19:11

Yep. Couldn't be less interested in the grace sl if I tried

I'm finding carol really annoying too. As usual I guess

Gruach · 18/09/2015 19:18

So Susan's team will be able to wear their Paisley tabards?

Yay.

Hmm
