Chocolate Chip cookie anyone?

I agree with you Cuttedup. Being handled brilliantly. The slow burn and invisibility of it is clever and accurate. As is the way in which Helen is lying to herself and convincing herself that Knob's controlling behaviour is love. Will admit to having missed update on it last night…..

PseudoBadger · 13/08/2015 17:22

Do you think the editor has now admitted that that is actually the storyline now? I seem to remember he wasn't sure.

He was horribly dismissive of Middle England hearing something sinister in every well enunciated vowel that dropped from Rob's lips.

Possibly the SWs have set him straight.

redshoeblueshoe · 13/08/2015 17:35

I know how Rob could have falsified the DNA test - apparently IRL outside of Ambridge courts are dealing with several cases like this to avoid paying maintenance. They just send someone else to do the test.
I too fear I am turning into my mother though she would have known every detail going back to day 1

LillianGish · 13/08/2015 18:31

But we heard Knob doing the test with Richard Lock. I too am beginning to think Knob is infertile which is why he was so sure Ethan wasn't his. But why would he now be pressuring Hellin to have another baby?

redshoeblueshoe · 13/08/2015 18:53

Blush Lillian you're right I forgot that

enochroot · 13/08/2015 19:27

I don't think Rob knows for sure he's infertile but Jess getting pregnant so easily by someone else after years of marriage to him must have got him wondering.
He didn't want to be the father of that baby then because he didn't want to jeopardise his slow take-over of Helen and her inheritance prospects. Also Jess had seen through him by then so she was no longer suitable as a mother of a mini-Knob. I have a dim memory of him telling Helen way back that Jess wouldn't agree to try for a baby during the marriage but that can't be taken at face value.
I know this doesn't explain why he was so convinced that he wasn't Ethan's father.

I think he's pretty desperate to father a baby with Helen now.

TopazRocks · 13/08/2015 19:39

Back to the stag night, wasn't there a lovely little twist when Ian led them all to a gay night club?

I'm another who likes Charlie - it's his coolness when dealing with Knob that I like. But didn't we discuss that on last thread?

redshoe, that would have been possible as Dr Locke had never met Knob before. But then we all heard it - and Helen was there too. Could he have been pretending to be his brother - or some other Mr Titch doing a different paternity test? Then got an imposter to do Jess's one? No, I don't think so either.

I too like the idea of Knob knowing he's infertile. Then he can put much pressure on naïve Helen - of course I'm not doing a sperm test, it's most likely to be your fault you can't get pregnant, dahling . It's probably because you don't really want my baby/ to give me a baby of my won.

My impression of Shula was that she was thinking wistfully of the gallant doc. But he only left for Manchester. Lovely place but hardly exotic.

Re-name changes on marriage, even Usha changed hers. I found that surprising. Her being a professional woman and all.

R4 · 13/08/2015 19:57

Are we sure that Rob does want a baby? He could be playing mind games.
He and Jess went a long time (teenage sweethearts) without having a baby, whatever that proves.

PseudoBadger · 13/08/2015 20:11

Imagine if she does get pregnant. And he's suspicious that it can't be his. Months of fun there.

OP posts:
TopazRocks · 13/08/2015 20:56

pseudo, they might have a paternity test SL.

R4, it IS mind games already. I wonder if Jess saw though him years ago - she is a social worker after all - but stayed because she was drawn in by him. She did say such as that when trying to warn Helen off. Maybe she didn't want a baby with him. But then a SW she must have known what to0 do about the situation of EA husband - except that professionals can't always help themselves.

EBearhug · 13/08/2015 21:18

they might have a paternity test SL

Didn't Emma do that with Will & Ed, to see who was really George's father?

NotdeadyetBOING · 13/08/2015 22:10

Good luck tomorrow, Kenton. If you don't watch it Jolene will be filing for divorce. He really needs to pull himself together….

On the plus side, great relief Pip has stopped her dreadful giggling and simpering around Tobes. Almost makes one wonder if the SWs follow this thread…..

smink · 13/08/2015 22:34

Sorry for non sequitor, What did Leinie call her child again?

smink · 13/08/2015 22:34

Leonie even

EBearhug · 13/08/2015 22:36

Was it Mowgli?

smink · 13/08/2015 22:40

I thought she wanted to call him Mowgli and Lillian and Lynda staged an intervention? Or did she have anevenworse idea before Mowgli?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/08/2015 22:49

Isn't it Mungo? She did think about Mowgli.

Yes, Emma, Will, Ed and George had DNA tests which established that Will was George's father.

smink · 13/08/2015 23:12

That's right Mungo!

ErrolTheDragon · 13/08/2015 23:45

So David wisely opines that Ruth needs a calm haven to return to, but it sounds like he'll be off searching for his idiot brother, leaving pip to hold the fort, which will make her convinced she's indispensable...

Scarydinosaurs · 14/08/2015 06:41

Kenton really was beyond belief last night. He has put nothing into the Bull. Jolene should throw him out. The fact only Toby Trouble will listen to him speaks volumes.

Callmecordelia · 14/08/2015 08:43

Just realised last night that when Knob showed Pip around Berrow, he talked a lot about untrustworthy staff and needing to keep your eye on them. He's an arrogant sod isn't he....

CuttedUpPear · 14/08/2015 08:45

I think Rib is pressurising Helen into trying for a baby so that he can make her feel inadequate when she doesn't 'take' (in farming terms).

CuttedUpPear · 14/08/2015 08:45

Rob even

NotdeadyetBOING · 14/08/2015 09:22

I predict Knob does manage to get Hellin up duffed and then massively favouritises new baby over poor old sperm donor Henry.
