Chocolate Chip cookie anyone?

OP posts:

gruach - apologies - was not on the previous thread Blush
BUT - if I was Josh or Ben I would be a bit miffed that it is always the annoying Pip - new voice or not - who gets to participate in making decisions about the farm
should they not have family conferences to decide who gets to use the spare room, who gets shipped off to the care home, who gets to look after the bees and bake the cakes Shock

EBearhug · 25/08/2015 16:46

I have just been wondering if I slept through some random Harry Potter storybline, as I struggled to work out what the HP situation was ...

I will be most annoyed if Pip stays. And I agree they should be having family meetings about who goes where - with a plan of the house, so they can remember how many bedrooms they have.

EBearhug · 25/08/2015 16:49

Also, the thing that annoyed me about Jill a couple of days ago - she was going on about all her memories with Brookfield - like she was moving to Outer Mongolia, rather than a couple of minutes down the road - and I'm not convinced she'll actually go yet.

(I am being unfair; I know how I felt clearing my parents' home.)

Gruach · 25/08/2015 17:00

I was pondering over the bedroom situation this morning in bed. (Try not to expire from envy over the excitingness of my life ...)

When Pip returns from High Wycomb and demands that the Hollowtree house is revived she might consider asking Jill to move into it with her.

Although I'm sure Bert will do a flit pretty soon. After all it would be far more entertaining for the SWs and us to have both grannies living at Brookfield.

EBearhug · 25/08/2015 17:06

Given Bert is still there, how come they haven't considered asking anyone else in Ambridge to put him up till the bungalow is ready again? Seems a bit more obvious than booting your own family, yet it doesn't seem to have been even mentioned.

squeaver · 25/08/2015 17:14

To be honest, they could do with getting Phil & Kirstie in to sort out what's happening to all the post-flood properties. I mean it's been, what, six months since the flood, surely they'd be starting to move back in by now?

Obviously the Grundys are about to be evicted by Hazel - where will they go?

My money's on Charlie persuading J Elliot to buy up the shop and keep it running, and do the same for The Bull.

BertrandRussell · 25/08/2015 17:17

I just think Ruth is being a cow. And a very shortsighted cow at that.

Gruach · 25/08/2015 17:24

Oh yes - speaking of Justin, he was all ready to spend 7 million on Brookfield lately, so great was his love of Ambridge. So surely he's been searching for another house in the vicinity?

Did someone mention Arkwright Hall? And GG nay soon be up for sale - perhaps he'd like that.

Icimoi · 25/08/2015 18:07

I think Ruth would be perfectly entitled to move her mother in, if it didn't entail shipping Jill out, and if she had the sense to organise a ground floor room for her. After all, when Jill moved in, didn't she have a conversation with her about how much they all wanted her there and virtually promised her a home there for as long as she wanted it? It's a bit rich to say in effect "You can stay as long as you're useful to us and as long as we decide we don't have a better use for your room."

selsigfach · 25/08/2015 18:31

RE Henry calling Rob 'Daddy' - I'm sure he did this last year when he moved in with Helen. Pat was stuttering over it then! He seemed to revert to Rob though.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/08/2015 19:18

Rob re-imagining himself as an organic farmer! Oh dear oh dear oh dear. The CA was bang on the money tonight.

For those who didn't hear, he said at the end 'Almost as deluded as his sister!' And so say all of us.

He also mentioned the top 15 insults levelled against Rob by listeners, which are [http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1WqhGmZWgHxMpBM3g8YSCcD/the-15-most-creative-insults-levelled-at-rob-titchener-this-week[ here]]. Some good ones in there!

R4 · 25/08/2015 19:46

Did we like the in-joke where Tom said that Susan needed to see a therapist.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 25/08/2015 20:02

Tbf Tom.qas in Rob's thrawl.at the start. He usex to think the sun shone out of him and his business advice. Remember the ready meals?

BertrandRussell · 25/08/2015 20:15

"I think Ruth would be perfectly entitled to move her mother in, if it didn't entail shipping Jill out, and if she had the sense to organise a ground floor room for her.

Of course she's entitled-but I just don't understand the lack of family consultation. Surely it's an everyone round the kitchen table how do we deal with this situation?

BertrandRussell · 25/08/2015 20:18

Oh, God- I've just thought. There's going to be sx nie on Thursday while Henry's with Pat, aren't there?

BitOutOfPractice · 25/08/2015 20:24

Matt is in a Dick Francis play on 4Extra right now. I feel all nostalgic

Gruach · 25/08/2015 20:26

It will be Wife Insemination Night.

Whether she likes it or not.

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 25/08/2015 20:33

I am spitting over HP and Jill
I mean Brookfield is hardly a 2 up 2 down!

R4 · 25/08/2015 20:48

Pat missed a trick. When Rob asked if she could babysit because he was planning a surprise, she should have asked him "Why all these clandestine goings-on...?"
She's asked Helen but not Rob.

selsigfach · 25/08/2015 21:39

I've never willed a made-up person to be on their period before.
AAAARRGGHHH, he's even got Pat on side now. I just can't take it anymore.

Icimoi · 26/08/2015 08:43

Knob was definitely positioning himself so that if it turns out well, he takes the credit, but if it doesn't, it was nowt to do with him and Tom made all the decisions.

WipsGlitter · 26/08/2015 09:44

Listening on catch up. I loathe Rob, "you were right to listen" totally patronising to Tom.

Plus Jill's acting is shocking. And the lemonade thing - weird!

Gruach · 26/08/2015 09:56

Indeed Wips - Jill sounded horrified that Ruth was there. Odd writing and direction.

BertrandRussell · 26/08/2015 19:10

So bored with the Mapp and Lucia routine.

DSClarke · 26/08/2015 19:15

Oh shut up Kenton.

Boooooored now.
