I am certain you do deserve each other

here I think you might need this - winter may be harsh this year well for some people Wine

SliceOfLime · 19/08/2015 19:58

Thanks everyone for the history stuff, most helpful, I had no idea the Fairbrethren were already a part of the incestuous Ambridge history... Helenluvsrob congrats on your wedding I think you have a long and miserable happy life ahead, ah well, repent at leisure as they say Grin

Why am I reading the thread when I haven't even listened yet?? Go to sleep DD2 so that I can i player it!

EBearhug · 19/08/2015 22:18

Besides the fact that what Charlie does outside work is nothing to do with work, (not that that quite works like that in small, rural communities,) if they start sacking people for having extra-marital amusements, they'd have to lose pretty much everyone on the BL board, I'd have thought.

Helenluvsrob · 20/08/2015 07:07

redshoe I don't know what you are implying with the Wine . You know Rob doesn't like me to drink alcohol, he thinks it's not good for me and I might want to , I don't know , go out and have friends if I drink. What a funny idea!

redshoeblueshoe · 20/08/2015 07:43

I'll take the wine back. May I politely suggest you nip to the chemist today as you sound deranged a tad hormonal. It might be exactly what Rob would like then he can become a SAHP and scrounge off your family for you to become a proper family

Toooldtobearsed · 20/08/2015 08:09

There was a bit in the programme where Rob said something like 'Will you tell the BL board, and Charlie said 'Oh yes, I know just what to tell them'.

I hope think that Charlie is going to tell all to the board, and will turn up Stefan?? think that was his name, as evidence of Robs evilness, and all on the day that Helens announces she is pregnant.

Helenluvsrob, cross yer legs girl!

enochroot · 20/08/2015 08:56

He played the 'I'm a member of a significant family in this village' card.
He planned to jump ship from BL once he was a safely married.

I hope Charlie is made of steely stuff.

R4 · 20/08/2015 09:34

He played the 'I'm a member of a significant family in this village' card.

That probably won't cut much ice with JE because he is trying to position himself as the local landed gentry (doesn't he claim some Ambridge/Borset ancestry?). He will ruthlessly cut out competition.
The outing could backfire on Charlie though. It could be portrayed as: Charlie tried it on with Adam, Adam rebuffed him, Charlie cut his contract. In that scenario, what Charlie does outside work does have an impact on his professional life, and drags down BL by association.

This week's compare and contrast: Rob plays the "I am an Archer" card after less than a month's wedded bliss. Ruth still feels an outsider from the clan even after 30 years of marriage.

R4 · 20/08/2015 09:48

NBS is back on form this month.

Icimoi · 20/08/2015 09:53

HelenluvsRob, mark Nancy's words:

Helen has just married a real bad hat, in a whirlwind wedding on the Isle of Wight (even to me, not one word of that sounds plausible), and already the man of her dreams is criticising her chocolate-chip cookies.

enochroot · 20/08/2015 09:55

Human gumboil Grin

Nicely spotted contrast of Archerness, R4.

BertrandRussell · 20/08/2015 09:59

NBS was obviously brought up on PGW!

Gruach · 20/08/2015 10:05

A question. (Usually I can answer any Ambridge uncertainty that occurs to me by googling "X in The Archers" - but I feel disinclined to google chickens.)

Are the Brookfield hens that Pip and Jill were pottering about with different to the big business hens that Josh bought into before (Old)Pip went away to Yorkshire? Hayley presumably abandoned her share of the enterprise; (Sad) Neil must be extra busy at Bridge Farm so surely (not lazy) Josh must be running the show now?

Gruach · 20/08/2015 10:07

And yes, well spotted c&c R4.

ppeatfruit · 20/08/2015 10:19

Oh they are brilliant!

ppeatfruit · 20/08/2015 13:09

I'm wary about links now. Dh says that's a good way for hackers to get 'in' to a site.
