I can't resist alliteration Wink

OP posts:
BuildYourOwnSnowman · 06/07/2015 10:04

Fallout with tony over the will plus various others in the past!!

Gruach · 06/07/2015 10:05

I was distracted while Peggy was speaking so can't recall the context - but she has plenty to choose from: her first, drunken Jack; Jenny's illegitimate child / marriage/ divorce / Ruairi; Lilian's widowing x 2; Matt's conviction; poor Jack II; Hazel; the fondant fancy fallout and Tony's trampling ...

Has everyone already read the new blog piece about Hollowtree? I've only just seen it, via a very circuitous route - don't miss the comments.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 06/07/2015 10:12

Interesting - the obsession with grave seems very contrived to me and I rely there so that they can make a big deal of 60 year since her death.

As for the comments surrounding the various women and their genetic propensity to sleep around (and therefor show themselves to be slags) - words fail me!

JasperDamerel · 06/07/2015 10:13

I think that Pip will end up staying in Ambridge, but because Ruth will be caring for Heather rather than because of Rex.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/07/2015 10:48

The fairbrethren should borrow Lynda's llamas - they're meant to be good for protecting flocks of sheep/lambs from foxes so I expect they could do the same for geese (though maybe that bright idea would just result in a hissing and spitting contest).

So David's got a house going to wrack and ruin that the SWs have evidently just forgotten about for years - is that really likely, when housing is at a premium? Hmm

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/07/2015 10:57

To be fair, BYOS, it's only one woman and even she mentioned Brian and Roy as well as Jennifer and Kate. Idiotic comment nevertheless.

If Pip stays in Ambridge, I will... um.... rant at the radio rather a lot. So, much as per usual. Hmm

Gruach · 06/07/2015 11:00

It does seem a little unlikely Errol. They have something over 400 acres at Brookfield - I wouldn't have said that was so enormous you would forget whole buildings for ages. Why wasn't something done about it when they got rid of the pigs?

ppeatfruit · 06/07/2015 11:37

Gruach I vaguely remember that Phil had a really bad 'thing' for Grace (i suppose because of how she died) for years and years which got right on Jill's tits Grin.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/07/2015 12:23

I wasn't born when Grace died, but the impression I have from my Archers books is that she was far from perfect when alive, but Phil, as is fairly common I think when someone dies young, gradually airbrushed out all her less attractive qualities. Not easy for Jill to contend with that.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 06/07/2015 12:24

I find the idea of letting a totally fine house stand empty ludicrous, especially when it's not like the whole family is rolling in it. Why on earth would they do that? It's not like they couldn't have someone living there while the pigs were there...unless the pigs were living in the house? Um.

I have a horrible feeling that the bringing creepy flowers to thanks Brine and Jen for their grandchild's virginity, and the "Mr Paterson" (remember Harry Enfield) routine was a crap attempt by the SWs to show us what a lovely young man Alex is. Well, I think it's weird.

Glad others agree about not talking to their mums about losing their virginity. I remember when I wanted to sleep over at my boyfriend's for the first time - my mum was quite iffy about it, so I told her that I had already been over there many, many times during the day... Blush

Golfhotelromeofoxtrot · 06/07/2015 12:52

I need to listen to last night's but I LOVE the thread title.

RocknRollNerd · 06/07/2015 13:01

Love the thread title (as an aside, I also adore the Avengers see what I did there! but am somewhat thrown by them setting up their new training camp in the Sainsbury Centre in Norwich aka 'destination of last resort' for school trips, presentations and any kind of event in the 1980s and 1990s).

Without wishing to cast a pall on things (or be a Debbie Downer as the Americans would put it!) but I fear we may not have a glorious month or even a fortnight of her. I could imagine it being a couple of episodes and the rest of it relayed second hand by other Aldridges, or mimed by Lily)

Am very glad someone did the economics of the gosling business, I can see it as a side business like the Grundys do it but large scale sole source of income for 2 chaps not a chance!

Oh and to whoever asked on the other thread Amex is resting. Bit of a shame as I quite enjoyed recapping the last one!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 06/07/2015 13:13

I know I am alone here but I hate Debbie and tamsin Greig by association. I find her voice deeply irritating.

I would be quite happy for Debbie to have a fleeting visit

And a lot of the key family don't really know her eg phoebe, ruari. I'm sure Alice and Kate only have hazy memories of her

Gruach · 06/07/2015 13:26

Adore Debbie! Think her finest moment was when she discovered who Ruairi's father was - and tore yards of skin off Brian, and Elizabeth (for not telling.)

Have no particular interest in Tamsin Grieg but I'm delighted that she clearly still wants to be associated with TA.

I hope we get a proper SL. Home Farm family dynamics are always fascinating - Debbie so effortlessly frustrates and wrongfoots Adam. Longing to see what the writers have in mind for her future. (As long as they don't kill her off.)

ppeatfruit · 06/07/2015 13:46

Well Debbie must hate her family. if it were me and my family had been in a badly flooded village I certainly would have visited them sooner than later.

I hope that Brine is not going to find her agreeing with with his dinosaur opinions Grin. I'm firmly in team Adam and Lynda Grin

Merse · 06/07/2015 13:58

Drip to Tobes: 'Are you getting soft?"

Tobes: 'That'll never happen' (smirking at his own innuendo).

Really all a bit much….

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 06/07/2015 14:04

The house has been heavily signposted hasn't it

If I were David I would totally be reducing pips involvement in the business side of things as she seems to have a serious lack of judgement re fairbrethren

trevortrevorslatterfry · 06/07/2015 14:33

Thankyou for the new thread Smile.. bit of a Marvel fan myself! Am intrigued to know what you mean about Sainsbury's RocknRoll!

Golfhotelromeofoxtrot · 06/07/2015 14:37

I love David's scathing tone when he talks to Pip about the brothers.

Phoebe was magnificent. Kate was painfully self conscious and desperately trying to claw back some credibility as she attempted to justify herself. What a nob.

ppeatfruit · 06/07/2015 14:43

Was Toplesstobes having a swim in the Am? It clearly turned Pip on, perhaps she has bad judgement when it comes to men, someone else posted that didn't they?

ErrolTheDragon · 06/07/2015 14:57

I caught the repeat - loved Kate's 'its not a blame game' (meaning she wasn't judging Phoebe) to which Phoebe roundly asserts that it is and it's all Kate's fault. Grin

On the phone, Debbie seemed to be aligning with Adam for a change. Is it just me or is it entirely unclear what her actual involvement with Home Farm is nowadays? Confused Seems like Adam does all the actual work and she just gets to make decisions.

R&R - I agree re amex - never listened to it but was glad they made it just for your recaps. Grin

ppeatfruit · 06/07/2015 15:15

Yes Errol and I loved the way Feebs very quickly mentioned the Toby and raddle escapade, notice that Kate didn't deny it.

Golfhotelromeofoxtrot · 06/07/2015 15:19

Kate at least sounded suitably embarrassed at her hypocrisy there!

LillianGish · 06/07/2015 15:45

You just know Pip is going to find Toby in the tent with someone (actually thought it might happen last night).

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/07/2015 15:54

YY Lilian. Upthread I have speculated that his tent companion will be none other than Cougar Kate Grin
