I can't resist alliteration Wink

OP posts:
BuildYourOwnSnowman · 10/07/2015 16:52

He was too junior to have done much damage re insider trading and junior enough to be slung out on his ear for harassment/drugs.

Not sure having a child is a deal breaker as he can spin that

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 10/07/2015 17:04

Or could Rex mean Kate?

Gruach · 10/07/2015 19:07

Thanks for the support Brian ...Hmm

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 10/07/2015 19:08

Only half listening and wondered why Jenny sounds so weird before realising we had a long ignored character back (for plot purposes only)

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 10/07/2015 19:10

Adam is starting to sound unhinged in his delivery

Gruach · 10/07/2015 19:11

Oh Lord - it's going to be one in, one out with Debbie and Adam isn't it?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 10/07/2015 19:17

Adam is a bit of a bull in a china shop.

He rants on and on about the soil but doesn't actually give anything but opinion. If he was a sensible person he would attempt to persuade rather than browbeat.

Of course it's all bullshit to try and making the farming more dramatic.

R4 · 10/07/2015 19:21

Yay! Is Adam really going?
pleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease

CatsandCrumble · 10/07/2015 19:39

hahaha, I love how script writers will try to invoke certain emotions, which are somewhat changed when real listeners are involved.

R4 · 10/07/2015 19:47

Big BOOP to Brine. At least someone has got a business brain. Did we ever find out what Adam's alternate plan was going to be?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 10/07/2015 19:48

I'm sure I heard frothing in that scene between Brine and Adam

ppeatfruit · 10/07/2015 20:14

You can buy organic maize, if it was so bad the organic farmers wouldn't grow it would they? We need dairyfarmers to tell us about it.

How's poor old semi silent Ian going to take it?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 10/07/2015 20:16

poor ian has probably been doing double shifts to avoid he rabid dog who has eaten his husband

where are ian and adam living post flood?

ppeatfruit · 10/07/2015 20:20

Did they get flooded? I don't remember it being mentioned maybe they didn't.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 10/07/2015 20:42

i'm sure i heard adam showing brian the disgusting state of the house and then the hot tub was the most disgusting of all

i'm sure they are the only people in the village with a hot tub!!

dairyfarmerswife · 10/07/2015 20:46

ppeat organically grown doesn't always equal good for soil... It means no sprays or fertilisers were used to grow it. Adam's issue, I believe, is the erosion of the soil because the excessive cultivation leaves a seed bed which is easily washed away. Maize is grown in really wide rows, so little to hold the soil in the event of high rainfall. Charlie did say they underside the maize at Home farm, which means growing another crop alongside the maize to make the soil more stable.

Also, though it may be possible to grow maize organically, I don't know how common it is. Maize is pretty high maintenance in terms of needing lots of fertilisers, and herbicides to control weeds.

Umm.. Have I answered your question...?! Haven't heard tonight yet, and got to be up at 4.30 to milk so off to bed soon...

Icimoi · 10/07/2015 22:25

Yay! Is Adam really going?
pleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease

Please no, not if it means lovely Ian going.

Icimoi · 10/07/2015 22:28

R4, it sounded as if, as predicted, Adam has precisely no alternate plan. When Brine asked him about it he said something to the effect that that was something they'd have to think about. Pratt.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/07/2015 00:10

While it may be possible to grow organic sweetcorn, presumably the price for maize grown for cattle food is much lower?

Anyway - bit drastic, Adam. Maybe Debbie will put his toys back in his pram and come up with some solution - though I can see Adams point if they really are overworking it then just carrying on may be shortsighted and ultimately not good for the business.

I didn't recognise usha till her name was used, then thought it must be a change of actor, but then later sounded ok again.

minkGrundy · 11/07/2015 02:18

Oh was that usha! Now I see.

Aa for Adam aurely this is just to pave an oh no Adam purlease don't go scene with Charlie. Tbh i think if Adam did go you'd potentially here more not less of Ian as I doubt he would go too.

R4 · 11/07/2015 06:49

Tbh I think if Adam did go you'd potentially here more not less of Ian as I doubt he would go too.

Are you sure that Ian's actor hasn't already gone and we missed it, in the same way as Matt? When did we last hear from him.

If Ian does go then it could be yet another problem for the absent-on-holiday Caroline.

Icimoi · 11/07/2015 06:50

Haven't we been here before with Adam threatening to bugger off forever?

R4 · 11/07/2015 07:05

He huffed and puffed about the mega dairy but backed down. But this isn't just down to Adam - Brine is saying shape up or ship out.
I imagine that Brine is thinking that he can't retire with this lentil-weaver in charge so he needs to find someone else who has more of a handle on reality.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/07/2015 07:52

Grin R4!

Golfhotelromeofoxtrot · 11/07/2015 10:00

I like Adam! Am I the only one??

I also didn't recognise Usha at first, but then did later when she was speaking to Ruth.

Ruth's mix of emotions about her mother is all being done very well. It's a terrible situation that many people are in, and her confusion about what to do for the best really resonates with me. I'm not a big fan of Ruth normally, but I have really warmed to her over this storyline.
