Won't someone please give Kenton a kick in the FA Cup Finals, and a link to Money Saving Expert?

Well they can't all go to Prudhoe, as someone has to milk the cows... I think Eddie is busy with a building contract for a few weeks? Saying that, I'm sure Ed would lend a hand? But they presumably can't pull Ben out of school just like that, and Pip has only just finished at uni, hasn't she.

I was bemused by the fact that David is 'so exhausted' that he fell asleep in the chair. That is a regular occurrence for DH and indeed most farmers I know. Many of my friends have fallen victim to what we call dairy farmer syndrome on a night out, falling asleep in pubs, bars, clubs, etc. Need to listen again, missed the Fête meeting due to bathtime fighting! Someone up thread was pondering the politics of the changing of the guard on these kind of events. Having just been roped in myself I can report back that it can be good fun getting involved but sometimes you have to tread gently to avoid some of the older toes Grin

TopazRocks · 24/06/2015 22:14

That's happened before in TA, David falling asleep. Usually during lambing though. Smile

when oh when is someone going to give Kenton the good slap he so richly deserves? Fallon and Jolene must be so sick of the poor-me-whining. I thought Fallon was going to put him right today........

highkickindandy · 25/06/2015 02:26

ooops....

Iwantacampervan · 25/06/2015 09:53

Considering how Ben was supposed to be very concerned about Granny Heather living alone (before the stroke) then I'm surprised he hasn't been mentioned/gone for a visit - Josh could drive up there as he has before.

squeaver · 25/06/2015 10:40

Does Kenton actually have a personal stake in The Bull? Or is it in Jolene's name? And where is Shula? She needs to do the twin thing and give him a talking-to. Or is she too busy looking for Alistair and her missing storyline with Dr Dishy?

ppeatfruit · 25/06/2015 11:10

Yes I'm fairly sure that Kenton and on and on.. has a stake in the bull with J'lene and Lil. He's becoming paranoid isn't he?; "Infamy infamy .. theyve all got it in for me" Grin.

squeaver · 25/06/2015 12:16

I spy a mental breakdown story over the horizon....

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 25/06/2015 12:21

It's not that he's paranoid, it's just that the whole world is against him

ppeatfruit · 25/06/2015 13:26

Yes squeaver or a divorce.

DoctorTwo · 25/06/2015 16:07

This interesting piece was posted in a Facebook group.

squeaver · 25/06/2015 16:27

Oh I LOVED that, Doctor! Thank you. And all so true, especially Tiger & PussCat.

ZeroFunDame · 25/06/2015 16:30

Nice! A person of sound judgement.

Although one day Ed's boat will come in.

Iwantacampervan · 25/06/2015 16:38

Radio 4 Extra tomorrow 2.15 - On the Map. An interesting series of programmes about maps by Mike Parker. He's off to Ambridge in this episode and asks Eddie Grundy for directions.

toldmywrath · 25/06/2015 16:44

Golfhrt I lolled and snorted at Maybe Kenton will find his childhood toy pub in the attic and have a change of heart... ( reading this a week late, but nevermind, you know who you are)

toldmywrath · 25/06/2015 17:14

ppeatfruit it is like deja vu all over again-I used the quote "infamy infamy.." today a mere 3 hours before your post & followed up with a deja vu reference!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/06/2015 20:11

So who thinks Kate will make a great success out of teaching meditation? Hmm

TopazRocks · 25/06/2015 20:12

Oh, clever Kate, she knows what Roy needs to do to sort himself out. Just what Roy needs. Hmm

TopazRocks · 25/06/2015 20:13

Gaspode, I find I don't actually care. Shock Hmm

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/06/2015 20:18

I care what Brian thinks, and that's about as far as it goes, Topaz. I adore Brian. If Charles Collingwood ever walks my world will be rocked on its axis.

ZeroFunDame · 25/06/2015 20:28

So ... Apart from Ed, who is still farming, and Chris and Jamie who are doing things innately entwined with the countryside, the latest new Ambridge business ventures are vintage upcycling, goose breeding and holistic retreatment?

Is it me? Am I out of step with the times? Is this some sort of vicious parody or an accurate representation of why this country is going to the dogs?

TopazRocks · 25/06/2015 20:39

I think you might be, Zero. I know I am. Grin I did mention a few years ago Ambridge had no artisans. Presumably the SWs think they've sorted that now .... I do hope Brine/Charles gets some good lines out of Kate's new venture, Gaspode. Wink

mummytime · 25/06/2015 20:58

Well did anyone else think: I know who would be a great manager if Kate's holistic retreats takes off and works out?

Roy.

ZeroFunDame · 25/06/2015 21:09

Ooooh!

Good thinking mummytime.
