Won't someone please give Kenton a kick in the FA Cup Finals, and a link to Money Saving Expert?

To be fair to the fete committee, I think it was less a lack of awareness of the many, many fields, and more being pissed off that most of the committee CBA to turn up. It can get dispiriting when everyone expects you to organise stuff that happens every year, but people can't be bothered to get stuck in themselves.

BitOutOfPractice · 15/06/2015 13:30

Pipperoo that's brilliant. Toby Trouble. Love it!

squeaver · 15/06/2015 15:33

I am fully expecting a PC Plod-posal on Friday.

Brookfield for the Summer Fete, surely? And, yay for Brenda coming back. Let's hope it serves a purpose. A Fairbrother perhaps??

ZeroFunDame · 15/06/2015 16:01

Hmmm ... Brenda was engaged to some City chap on her last appearance wasn't she? I'm hoping that, like Debbie, all her off screen romances come to nothing - leaving her free to return unbaggaged.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 15/06/2015 21:53

So aren't I clever - suggesting that Peggy would invite Christine to move in and liz would offer up loxley for the fete

Oh no wait, it's just all so predictable...
Boo! Not a clever as I thought!

Minimammoth · 15/06/2015 22:05

I wonder Brenda has run into Toby in the city?

ZeroFunDame · 15/06/2015 22:09
  • Or in Brighton? ...
stilllearnin · 15/06/2015 22:33

No loxfest?! I bought early bird tickets too! So damn selfish Elizabeth will take the fete away from Kenton.

BiscuitMillionaire · 15/06/2015 22:50

About the Fairbrethren: two brothers, one sensible and mature, the other younger and wild... hmmm, who does that remind me of..... Pip will probably marry one then go off with the other.... It's deja vu all over again.

Icimoi · 16/06/2015 08:11

Got to admit if I were Christine I would hesitate a LOT over the Piggoi option. Given Piggoi's age, the reality is that she could end up as her carer, or that Piggoi will SOFTMC and she'll be back where she was. Plus unless she takes a share in the house she'll have to move again when Piggoi falls off the perch.

R4 · 16/06/2015 08:21

You forgot the biggest drawback ... that she would have to live with Piggoi!
Although I'm not sure who would be the worst to live with: I'm-always-right Piggoi or the cardboard moaning Myrtle.

ZeroFunDame · 16/06/2015 08:34

Oh, I don't know icimoi - Peggy is wealthy and smart enough to know all about getting the best professional care for herself when she needs it. And in the meantime Christine could either let or sell her own house. She shouldn't be left destitute.

At least they've known each other for ever so there would be no surprises.

JessieMcJessie · 16/06/2015 11:01

While there is no question of Auntie Cardboard getting a share in Piggoi's house and staying after she dies, I bet that Rob is nonetheless Not Pleased when news gets out about the old lady flatshare. Particularly since he already tried to kill AC once and failed.

HapShawl · 16/06/2015 11:05

"we aren't doing loxfest this year"

you've only done it once! it's not like that's a surprise!

ErrolTheDragon · 16/06/2015 12:11

Oh dear... the rest of the Archers conspiring against poor Kenton to hold the fete way away from the Bull. What selfish, thoughtless bastards they are. Even though he'll doubtless be asked to do the beer tent etc I'm sure that's how he'll see it. Hope Jolene doesn't let him totally throw his toys out of the pram.

ppeatfruit · 16/06/2015 14:23

Yes Errol another reason for Kenton to moan because he wanted to hold the "Fete at the Bull" But it's any reason with K isn't it?

Icimoi · 16/06/2015 15:37

Isn't it a bad business decision not to hold Loxfest this year? Surely it wastes all the publicity and momentum they built up last year?

ErrolTheDragon · 16/06/2015 16:55

I don't suppose Lizzie can face it without Roy - he was the driving force behind it, wasn't he?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 16/06/2015 18:08

Maybe she's worried about which Fairbrother eligible Ambridge "bachelor" she'll accidentally seduce next.

CuttedUpPear · 16/06/2015 19:16

Ha ha I'm loving Kenton at the moment.

BLOODY Lower Loxley!! Angry Grin Grin

Golfhotelromeofoxtrot · 16/06/2015 21:44

Prediction: Kenton is going to go off in an anger fuelled rage and get stuck somewhere, and will need to call upon David to help him. Whilst stuck, he will see the error of his ways and repent.

He can't keep going like this, he's like a hormonal teenager! He's recreating Jamie's GCSE strops.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 16/06/2015 21:57

i think liz will offer him the beer tent and he will pull a massive strop and refuse because she's only asking out of pity (not because he's the only publican in the area)

when is jolene going to give him a kick up the backside!!

(having said that, i think a village fete should be in the village)

EBearhug · 16/06/2015 23:11

i think liz will offer him the beer tent
But he already said that they don't have enough people to staff it and the Bull, and they rely on the extra trade having the fete on the Green pulls in, so with it out at Lower Loxley, they would basically have to write off a day's takings.

selsigfach · 16/06/2015 23:24

Jolene can run the empty Bull while Kenton (and Callum, if required) run the fete bar, simple. What a tool!

Northernlurker · 16/06/2015 23:40

Hazel won't be pleased about Christine moving in. Even though it's absolutely nothing to do with her!
I can't believe how rude Kenton was to Jill. She should clip him round the ear and say ' See, THIS is why I prefer your brother to you!!'
