Deluged damp squid or not? And has Peggy been assisted off the mortal coil by Rob yet?
And when will JD and Brian remember Debbie?

I thought Adam placing the blame at BLs door was interesting. Maybe he feels Charlie was trying to buy him off with the contracting work.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 11/03/2015 20:58

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo!

This is Heatherpet in her kitchen as Rooth and Ben drive away from Prudhoe.

GypsyFloss · 11/03/2015 21:26

I loved the Lynda/ Lilian stuff tonight. They're fab together.

TheFnozwhowasmirage · 11/03/2015 21:58

Gah! I was just tuning in at work today and someone came over to talk to me,so I missed what happened when Ed was going to see Charlie.
I'm jealous of David having a blower thing to put his straw bedding down,we still use pitchforks here. Arm wrestle anyone?Grin

Davros · 11/03/2015 22:09

Like the watershed in the thread title, very clever and funny.

kiritekanawa · 11/03/2015 22:10

Where is Peggy????? What's going to happen to Eddie and Clarrie from Hazel and how is that tied to Peggy's complete disappearance under the floodwaters?

and how is Heatherpet doing and what did she say about the Dopeys not moving?

THis is keeping me awake at night. Gah.

BitOutOfPractice · 11/03/2015 22:45

I think the flood will throw up some interesting partnerships / juxtapositions as characters that don't normally interact much are thrown together eg Lilian/ Lynda. Jim / Shula. Jazzed / knob etc etc

LillianGish · 11/03/2015 23:04

No mention of Peggy is getting ridiculous. Surely she must be the oldest, frailest resident. Has Soak forgotten about her or is it a deliberate omission? Can someone with a map tell us if The Lodge was at risk from flooding. Perhaps she'll turn up in Lynda's shed with Scruff?

R4 · 11/03/2015 23:42

The Lodge was the lodge for the Big House before it became Grey Gables; it is at the bottom of their drive. It is well away from the river. As everyone seems to have been in and out of GG over the past few ?hours/days/weeks? you'd think someone would have put their head round the door or asked for a spare bed.

DoctorTwo · 12/03/2015 03:31

I reckon Lynda will receive Scruff's corpse and have it stuffed and put on wheels...

LillianGish · 12/03/2015 06:10

As a birthday gift for Mungo.

Eastpoint · 12/03/2015 06:19

I'm surprised Peggy hasn't been mentioned by Lilian. Adam, Kate, Alice & Debby aren't as close to her as Tom & Helen are. Just joining the new thread, great title.

stilllearnin · 12/03/2015 06:42

I would quite like a contested will storyline. It's more normal and likely to happen in rl, than a lot of the others. Jazzer and knob also good possibilities as J is no fool. Unlike Adam who is all over the place. Anybody know or care what he's about.

Thanks for the thread pseudo - great work.

Icimoi · 12/03/2015 07:17

I find it quite irritating that the flood is supposed to have resolved the entire Dopey conflict at a stroke. Goodness knows, I found Ruth's certainty that moving to Prudhoe was the only thing to do irritating and stupid, and therefore her anger at David was understandable but not entirely justified; but at least it set up a realistic tension and an interesting situation which could have provided material for quite a long time. Suggesting that it has been resolved overnight with Ruth proclaiming that she's an Archer through and through is lazy and pretty ridiculous. Especially as there has been not one mention of Heatherpet: surely if Ruth was so desperately concerned about her that she was prepared to uproot the entire family, something needs to be said about her? It would at least be satisfying if Ruth had to admit that Heatherpet told her she wasn't in the least bothered and she thought it was a bloody stupid idea all along.

minkGrundy · 12/03/2015 07:55

I thought the flood would resolve everything but still think HP should be mentioned.

What did happen with Charlie and Ed? (Kids keep talking so not sure if I missed bits)

ZeroFunDame · 12/03/2015 08:00

This is Catheridge Hall, Roy v Lizzie and Tiger extinction all over again. Clearly the writing team like "re-positioning" but have no interest in the detail. They just throw all the cards in the air and we're supposed to applaud when they land.

I still want to know about the costs thrown away on the non- wedding.

What happened about the new-build?

Whether Kirstie was left massively out of pocket.

What the LL trustees felt about Lizzie losing two trusted members of staff as a result of the Greenfield shag.

How much money, if any, Hayley received in compensation.

What amount Roy is paying in maintenance for Abby. Who is taking actual financial responsibility for Phoebe. Who puts money in her account, who does she go to for cash?

How Lilian is running Amside with no staff - and having moved out of the home office.

Now there's the flood - once again everyone changes position - but we'll never get answers to the interesting questions.

It's so frustrating.

A BOOP for the continuing possibility of the Bull being un-insured.

R4 · 12/03/2015 08:10

Unlike Adam who is all over the place. Anybody know or care what he's about.

No.
A hundred times no.

I was reading something about SOC t'other day and it said that when he was last in Ambridge, in his previous incarnation as producer, he brought Adam, Kenton and Lillian into the action. I suppose that means I won't be rid of Adam any time soon, more's the pity.

minkGrundy · 12/03/2015 08:16

All excellent points zero
They could do an Ambridge/moneybox mash up special shouldn't put ideas in SOCs head

I wonder about these things too. And about Hellin's finances.

Bluestocking · 12/03/2015 08:17

A contested will storyline would be great and very true to life. You only have to look at MN to see how often siblings draw battle lines over "unfair" inheritances.

Love the idea of Upcycled Scruff - perhaps when Piggoi pops off she could be stuffed and put on permanent display in the lobby at BB, or the reception area of the Borchester Echo.

Minimammoth · 12/03/2015 08:21

Mmm. I do remember a time when Lilian and Kenton weren't really around, and I like them both in as characters. Adam less so. Where were Alice and the hunky Christpher during the flood? And yes to all the financial questions above. Personally I don't want a will tussle, I can't be bothered with the wrangling, but the whole Hazel Wooley thing has been left unresolved, I thought she owned the shop too.

Minimammoth · 12/03/2015 08:22

No doubt Fallon will have The Bull turned round in no time, it will all be upcycled.

BitOutOfPractice · 12/03/2015 08:47

I can only apologise for typing "Jazzed Knob" on this thread

R4 · 12/03/2015 09:15

Sorry, zero, missed your post at 8 o'clock. Yes, excellent points. There are far too many loose ends. Nothing seems to have a consequence. There is no continuity.

Basically: my complaint is that it's not like RL. I like my fiction to have a bit of reality about it, not melodrama for the sake of it. Some of the most popular fiction of all time takes the protagonists characteristics and weaves a novel out of that, no need for crashing trains or exploding bombs.
I want the scriptwriters to model themselves on Jane Austen!

trevortrevorslattery · 12/03/2015 09:21

Hello and thanks for the new thread!
I didn't listen last night - turned off after the continuity announcement about Lynda .. poor Scruff Sad.. so I've just caught up via your updates.

So I take it Rooth and Deevid have made up. But no mention of what Heather said? HUMPH

Icimoi · 12/03/2015 09:28

I don't mind Adam as a character, but purely as a happily partnered and subsequently married gay man, not as a gay man tediously lusting after every other gay man who wanders in the village. Perhaps he could then concentrate on keeping his eyes open about what is going on with Knob, and we could have a look at what they are doing to keep the business viable having lost the BL contract rather than assuming that a business fairy is keeping the Aldridges in luxury.
