She's got a whole calendar to use!

Adam must be nearly 50 by now?

His image is that of a mid-30s yes, blond surfer-type dude. In fact he'll likely be pot-bellied, with rapidly-thinning hair...shame Confused

TallGiraffes I had a PE following cancer surgery - I had blood-thinning injections in hospital & then oral warfarin for 6 months. Nobody ever mentioned paralysis Shock

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 24/11/2014 20:29

Mind you I was mobile & hadn't been trampled by a bull Grin

BringYourOwnSnowman · 24/11/2014 20:34

That was such a boring episode - yes I know it was setting us up for stuff but they could have made it a teeny tiny bit more interesting

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/11/2014 20:39

Rob was beyond terrifying. What kind of superhuman strength of character will Johnny have to call on to save Bridge Farm?

LillianGish · 24/11/2014 20:47

Right, I'm reposting my thread title suggestion: It's not about the money, money, money, think about Jill's honey, honey, honey, Justin wants to farm by satnav, forget about the prize tag

TallGiraffes · 24/11/2014 20:54

theone Sorry! I should have been clearer, it's a specific problem for people who've had spine surgery. Spine ops and blood thinners don't go together very well. Hope you are fully recovered now.

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 24/11/2014 21:17

Oh that is a relief! Smile

(Well recovered, thanks, giraffes - it was years ago. I was just feeling uninformed)

BringYourOwnSnowman · 24/11/2014 21:38

My vote goes to Lillian!

Hopefully Tom and johnny will form an alliance against rob and his non organic methods

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/11/2014 22:33

But Tom will be the oldest man in the world by the time he arrives. He'll simply sink to the ground clutching a faded picture of a log cabin - as a hundred starving wolf cubs escape the confines of his twine tied coat and devour every animal in Ambridge ... Sad

And another vote for Jessie J. Grin

DadDadDad · 24/11/2014 22:50

Ooh, ooh, Pseudo, please miss, don't forget you promised that footle could choose the next thread title.

Although I really like Lilian's, so footle you'd better choose that one! Grin

DadDadDad · 24/11/2014 22:51

Anyway, you've got until Wednesday afternoon-ish to decide.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/11/2014 23:34

Rob's being so darned 'wonderful' that Helen is going ever deeper into 'whatever you think best' mode ... surely Pat will have something to say about it if Rob starts mucking about with the herd? Hoping H. will start to be disenchanted soon... havign just had her role in Blythe Spirit explained surely that signpoints Former Wife starting to 'haunt' her? (what's with H keeping dropping things recently BTW? Low blood sugar due to returning anorexic behaviour perhaps?)

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/11/2014 23:57

She's definitely not eating again. Lynda's Blithe Spirit synopsis was hilarious - but it reminded me of Helen recently musing that the present trouble put all her own worries in perspective. Was the first "dropping"incident immediately after Jenny's announcement of Ethan's arrival?

And is this the point of the Jess complication - that it takes Helen's eye off the ball just when she should be protecting her parents' life's work?

I'm imagining that Rob won't even bother to hide his imminent ruination of their organic status. He'll probably assert that as there's no longer an organic farm to run the olds should probably just shuffle off and let him get on with it.

unitarian · 25/11/2014 00:46

I like Lillian's money, money, money one.

I think Helen first dropped a plate or something the day after the accident when Peggy was there so not to do with the baby directly. More to do with the accident and weeks of suppressed strain ever since Jess turned up pregnant. She's definitely gone down hill since Jenny blurted out the news though.

Johnnie's going to be the one who sees through Rob, isn't he?

I love the idea of a grey, toothless Tom arriving home in the distant future, gibbering about once having owned a sausage empire.

LillianGish · 25/11/2014 06:12

Seriously wondering about Blithe Spirit now they've started pointing out the plot. I'd been fixating on the seance aspect, but the ex-wife haunting Charles and his wife not realising to start with (how confusing that she is called Ruth) is really much more significant - especially in view of what happens when Ruth does see Elvira. And that is the significance of Hellin stopping eating - she's going to end up hurting herself ( unless of course she tries to push Knob in the slurry pit and ends up falling in instead).

PseudoBadger · 25/11/2014 08:00

Does Rob know about Helen's past food issues?
I really wonder if he might have met his match. He is banking on her reacting 'normally' to his actions, but actually she's going to out-manipulate him.

OP posts:
ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/11/2014 08:24

He once boasted to Pat that Helen had told him about everything and they had no secrets. Could well have been at last year's bonfire night. I think he did specifically mention her anorexia.

LillianGish · 25/11/2014 08:54

Excellent point Pseudo. We've all been focussing on what a knob Knob is (which obviously he is), but you are quite right - imagine being in a relationship with Hellin! Maybe he has met his match.

Selks · 25/11/2014 11:50

Has there actually been any mention of Tom yet??? This is driving me potty and completely spoiling the 'Tony' storyline. Ridiculous scriptwriting!

BitOutOfPractice · 25/11/2014 11:54

Selks they've said they've been trying to reach him but he's not picking up

Selks · 25/11/2014 12:14

Ahhh missed that! Many thanks

Rob is taking over Bridge Farm with such swift intent that I began to wonder if he had already been sacked but omitted to mention it.

trevortrevorslattery · 25/11/2014 13:21

I liked the Rob/Johnny exchange and I think this is where the flashpoint is going to be - Jonny sticking up for Tony's way of doing things to the point where he and Rob come into conflict, revealing Rob's true colours.

I was glad the SW clumsily explained the parallel between Helen and the character she's playing in Blithe Spirit, as I am uncultured and haven't seen or read the play!

I'm also coming round to the idea of not being irritated by the lack of updates on all the storylines (Roy etc). It's like we are peeping in at different windows in the village and seeing what's going on in each home, but obv can't see into every window every day as there's not time. Kind of Under Milk Wood ish.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/11/2014 13:27

Beautifully put trevor.

I dread to think what Rob will do today while Johhny is at college.
