She's got a whole calendar to use!

Yes they would have a working overdraft, at least in three figures I'd have thought

But Rooth was talking in terms of the extra £2 million being helpful in making a dent in the overdraft! Even if you factor in extra commitments to the shareholders etc, we're still talking in terms of seven figures, aren't we?

Lilymaid · 24/11/2014 13:56

"The other option could be to milk through what is known as a bail"
The Grundy's used to have one of these so a trip to the cider shed might be in order!

Lilymaid · 24/11/2014 13:58

Why does no one on TA ever die of cancer ...?
Siobhan Hathaway did.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 24/11/2014 14:03

What was John t dying of before carol pushed him?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 24/11/2014 14:09

How could I have forgotten about Siobhan? And yes, I think John T may have had cancer.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/11/2014 14:09

Lily Yes, but only to further a major plot. I was thinking of characters living their day to day lives with an ongoing condition.

Peggy visiting Jack several times a week, say. (And having to be driven around since her stroke.) But it would be more realistic if the illnesses covered a wider age range.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 24/11/2014 14:18

I thought Ruth had breast cancer?

Now if the sw were brave they could do a childhood leukaemia story. As they seem to have dumped poor Bethany and the wonderful possibilities there then I can't see them doing it. To me those stories reflect everyday life for people all over the country rather than this myopic BL storyline.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/11/2014 14:20

Forgot Ruth!

But it's still nothing like RL.

songbird · 24/11/2014 14:42

Loved that old recording! popped up as well Sad

dairyfarmerswife · 24/11/2014 15:05

icimoi I have just reread what I wrote about the overdraft... I mean six figures... Blush I don't know why I wrote three, I think I was thinking of three figures of thousands... Confused I suppose their overdraft could be a million + but it would be a lot. They could have that sort of figure on a mortgage though. Maybe the sw are using the term interchangeably.

lilymaid Now you mention it I think Ed milks his cattle through a bail at Oliver's. I seem to remember it was always breaking down a while back. There are actually a couple of blokes who milk through two modified bails side by side in Somerset, on a rented farm where they didn't want to invest in a parlour they would have to leave behind. They move it from field to field with the cows!

CuttedUpPear · 24/11/2014 15:18

songbird that clip was so sad, I remember reading that Norman Painting had written his own death himself, so that he could leave the way he wanted. Sad Smile

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 24/11/2014 15:34

Another, shorter clip, from \link{\1984 with Neil & Jethro} (who sounds exactly like Bert Froi Shock

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 24/11/2014 15:36

(and the present Clarrie Grundy in her first incarnation Smile - she even posts a message under the clip!)

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 24/11/2014 15:38

oh - it's a different Joe!

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 24/11/2014 15:42

(it's almost like listening to Judd & Demelza from Poldark Grin)

lljkk · 24/11/2014 15:59

Has anyone else see TA on TV. I was sort of fascinated, to say the least.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/11/2014 16:26

What monstrosity is that?Shock

unitarian · 24/11/2014 17:55

We'll need a new thread title soon.
The next thread is likely to last through the Turkey Pardon & the reincarnation of Tom who must, by now, have trekked to the Great Lakes and built his own boat.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/11/2014 18:03

Oh God - had forgotten about Tom. Probably the huskies and the blizzard obscuring his fleeing form. If not the frost frozen moustache.

Imagine, in years to come, little children will gather around the gruff old man (a bear skin warming his knees,) to hear once again about his forty year journey to Vancouver Airport.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 24/11/2014 18:28

Only to find out his passport had expired and he would have to go in search of the British consulate if he where wanted to leave the country....

Any Canadians about? I'd always assumed he'd be nearer Winnipeg for farming?

TallGiraffes · 24/11/2014 18:38

Quizzed DH on Tony. If they have put him on warfarin for a PE then his biggest risk now is for a bleed that causes paralysis. Sad

PseudoBadger · 24/11/2014 18:44

I'm open for title suggestions as of.....

NOW

OP posts:
BringYourOwnSnowman · 24/11/2014 18:49

something involving

An epic journey for Tom, an epic production from Eddie, and an epic fail at Brookfield

TeenyfTroon · 24/11/2014 18:50

No trevor, in my head Adam is a sort of blond surfer type. Mind you he still hasn't got any older since he returned from Africa. And he still has his tan.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/11/2014 20:20

This is fun.
