She's got a whole calendar to use!

But there are hundreds of Google entries! Most of them admittedly seem to stray into areas I have no wish to explore ...

PetulaGordino · 21/11/2014 14:56

Ah understood re zoolingualism meaning, even if dictionary refuses to recognise it Grin

culturemulcher · 21/11/2014 14:59

Zero Thank you I can sleep soundly tonight in the knowledge that Tony-not-John is still alive. And that explains the John reference too. And oh! I thought Johnny was a long lost grandson, not son. How odd that they called thier sons John and Johnny. must be a country folk thing

Glad it's not just me. Rob is indeed scary.

culturemulcher · 21/11/2014 14:59

their. their.

choccyp1g · 21/11/2014 15:24

Johnny is John's long lost son. His mother Sharon named himhim after his already dead father. But Pat and Tony didn't know he existed until recently. ( due to them being very snobby about Sharon )

ErrolTheDragon · 21/11/2014 15:26

Culture, zero got it slightly wrong (probably a typo) - Johnnie is indeed Pat and Tony's long-lost grandson, he's the late John's son. His mother (Sharon) was despised by P&T so she didn't tell them about her son till a year or so ago - initially introducing him as 'Rich' but later it transpired that was his middle name, she'd actually named him after his father and that's the name he goes by now.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/11/2014 16:10

Ah - I see what you're objecting to. If I'd written

"they now have his long lost son ..."

meaning they now have John's long lost son ..." would that have been clearer?

(I have just sent my DM a somewhat vexed text protesting about her imprecise languageBlush )

unitarian · 21/11/2014 18:11

Culture Have you perhaps been confused by the talk of John Tregorran, Carol's dead husband?
Jennifer Aldridge might, or might not, have had an affair with him (while he was alive) and is now convinced that Carol bumped him off. Jennifer hopes to contact him at a séance.

It sounds utterly bonkers written down! It is utterly bonkers.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 21/11/2014 18:17

So Jenny is going to ask carols kids of they think their mum murdered their dad? Can't see how that could possibly go wrong

culturemulcher · 21/11/2014 18:31

Erol and Zero ah ha. Now it makes sense. I did think naming two children in the same family John a little far fetched, even for seance-contacting-the-dead Ambridge.

unitarian Yes! that's it! I knew someone called John had died... I just didn't know who John actually was.

So Jennifer thinks Carol bumped him off, eh? Surely not Carol?

Lindt70Percent · 21/11/2014 19:05

Who's that? Is that a new Pip?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 21/11/2014 19:05

New Pip! Sounds nothing like the old one. This must be Daisy Badger (yes, really). Grin

PseudoBadger · 21/11/2014 19:05

Oh! Is it possible to like Pip less?

OP posts:
AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 21/11/2014 19:05

She sounds very like Helen.

Why is the actress who plays Helen now playing Pip?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/11/2014 19:07

Beautiful voice! But sounds like a visitor.

And presumably Charlie's news will not be about Rob then?

nauticant · 21/11/2014 19:08

Ah-ha! I see AllMimsy is a rather discerning poster.

Lindt70Percent · 21/11/2014 19:09

PseudoBadger I didn't think it was but it seems it is possible. I can't bear it when they change actors.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/11/2014 19:16

WHY?

Just to have the road go ahead quietly?

nauticant · 21/11/2014 19:16

Well that was a less stupid Friday night cliffhanger than many we've had of late.

guineapiglet · 21/11/2014 19:18

RIP then poor OttoSadFlowers
Was a bit choked to hear Johnnie so upset....good encouraging speech by Pat.

NewPip sounded like an Enid Blyton character, and also about 3 miles away from the action!

Money talks eh?Hmm

LillianGish · 21/11/2014 19:28

Is it just me or did the new Pip's deep voice and talk of sawing up a tree make you picture a huge, butch, tomboy Pip whereas before I always imagined her to be quite petite (Pipsqueak) - still quite capable, but much smaller. I agree the old one needed improving on, but surely staying within the same register.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/11/2014 19:31

I thought Pip and Charlie sounded good together.

Awkward.

PseudoBadger · 21/11/2014 19:35

I thought Pip sounded like an actress trying to play Pip IYSWIM.
