And - since they're clearly too mean to actually pay Christine to appear - perhaps the call from Peter presages her moving permanently to ... is it Berlin that he works?

I know someone who is always encouraging people to drink and topping up glasses/buying shots. But she doesn't drinkand uses it to get gossip/create gossip. Pretty nasty

Well I must be in a small cheese soufflé eating minority who actually rather likes Carol, she is a refreshing (sic) change from Peggy and her angst, Jill and her clipped speeches and Jenny and her seances, she brings out the inner witch in me with her brews and potions....but they have slapped it all on with a trowel...less is more SWs, less is more....

Maybe Rob wasn't just hiding the paper because of the front page story ... I wonder if there was a birth announcement in there as well! Something along the lines of: Mr and Mrs Titchener, proudly announce the safe and happy arrival of their first baby

I don't know if the SW read this but just to say I am one of the not insignificant group who loathe the character of Carol. Creepy irritating and unconvincing.

Have never been a huge fan of Eleanor Bron but don't blame her for the character.

I agree Waltzing. Rob doesn't know she knows and interesting that she didn't mention it. I also think she is not eating.

Rob let the mask slip when he failed to call Helen to heel as she left the hunt - he sounded furious. At least she stood up to him a bit - of course the 'dont hide anything from me' wasn't just about the newspaper ... till he wheedled her round again. Unfortunately right now he's of particular practical use (though with plans to interfere of course). I think that he's heading towards being sacked by Charlie (who obviously isn't impressed by him at the best of times) but he'll turn it into having sacrificed his career for them.

If Rob does lose his job then he will run the farm full time until Tom comes back to be the alpha male.

I liked Caroline when I thought she was a temporary charactor. I don't want her in Ambridge full time thank you.

With any luck the Knob/Hellin storyline is boiling up to a crisis. That's about the first time that Hellin's stood up to him properly, and though he brought her back to heel this time it is the first chink in his armour - ready for much more of a blow-up when the truth about Ethan comes to light.

Any thoughts about the bombshell the announcer said Charlie was going to drop tomorrow? Are they getting RB or whatever it was called to run the megadairy as well?

I hope the hellrob story rumbles on until well after Xmas. I don't think it's a story they should rush and they have way too much going on at the moment.

The beauty of the archers is that they don't have to rush stories and can play them in real time. They seem to have forgotten that though

Yes - till tonight I'd assumed it would be something more relevant to Adam. But given what passed between Helen and Rob I'm guessing he will find himself jobless tomorrow. The havoc he'll wreak at Bridge Farm ... He'll have everything in his own name within a week.

If Rob is to be sacked then I hope the SWs have checked up on employment law!

wrt all the herbal talk it crossed my mind that carol might have a long-term (or terminal) illness and she is managing the symptoms with cannabis, but it was only a passing thought
