She's got a whole calendar to use!

BTW can I put in an early request for the next thread title?

"Tony you can't cark it now - Peggy hasn't unwrapped her calendar yet!"

BasketzatDawn · 19/11/2014 18:36

Couldn't Ambridge hold a cheese soufflé contest and JD, Jill and Lindy can slug it out together? and all the young people can sneer at the oldies. SmileI'm not sure I've ever tasted real cheese soufflé, only one where an omelette has gone a bit wrong!

I like prunes, the actual taste of them, not necessarily other effects! so I reckon I'd like them with Armagnac like R4 above.

The cow and spuds story reminds me - did you all know, the first caesarean on a human where both mother and child survived was performed on his own wife by a Swiss pig farmer.

Have you noticed Ambridge characters are like royalty? They don't actually go to the loo - so Matt and Brine discussing their prostate problems and indeed talk of Tony's possible incontinence problems should he end up paraplegic aren't going to happen. Maybe just as well, as the time of broadcast means lots of eating and food prep going on amongst listeners!

BasketzatDawn · 19/11/2014 18:39

I was wondering (as a townie who lives in the country but has no desire to hunt), can you just decide to go hunting one day? Will Knob not have to apply for a licence, or be part of some organised expedition? Led by Oliver, presumably.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/11/2014 19:07

What was that crap between carol and bert?

Nice sisterly love there. Slipped in the birth of jessus. So we were right!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 19/11/2014 19:07

Ethan!

Basketz you've forgotten a cup of tea and a wazz! (Johnny)

And people are always pottering off to the loo in The Bull.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/11/2014 19:10

I hope David is selling the bungalow with a sitting tenant.

Jill seems very jolly for someone with a close relative on the verge if death

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 19/11/2014 19:13

Oh dear. Another wasted meal prepared by Ian no doubt ...

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/11/2014 19:15

Carol comes across as a bit of a bully to me. Jennifer clearly has better things to be worrying about without carol winding her up.

Scene with Brian and Adam was weird

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 19/11/2014 19:16

Weird how?

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/11/2014 19:19

Just what they said seemed unnatural in some way

PrincessFiorimonde · 19/11/2014 19:25

I know that Jennifer and Lilian have a lot on their minds (understatement!). But if I'd just found out that my niece was living with someone whose estranged wife had just had a baby, and I realised the timing made it at least possible that my niece's partner was the baby's father - well, I think my reaction would be a bit more than merely 'Oh, that's interesting.'

LillianGish · 19/11/2014 19:28

It's loved the scene with Adam and Brian - they are not father and son, but Brian was talking as if they were. He is not one for sentimentality and I found that quite touching. Also Lillian crying about her baby brother - or maybe I'm just feeling sentimental tonight.
Anyway we were right about Titchyknob minor being born. Knob will hate the rest of the village knowing about it and speculating before he has time to give his own version of events.

WetAugust · 19/11/2014 19:28

Tis crap these days. Didn't Brian Aldridge get injured by a cow some decades ago? If so, this story line with Tony and the bull is a bit repetitive

PrincessFiorimonde · 19/11/2014 19:28

PS I hate prunes!

BitOutOfPractice · 19/11/2014 19:33

Repetative? Two decades apart - I think that's a bit picky wet! Grin

Halsall · 19/11/2014 19:34

The SWs are clearly reading this thread - lo, the Baby Jessus is amongst us. And Tony's woken up, but because they've blown the budget on paramedics, doctors and HSE people, they can't afford to let him speak Hmm

I'm unreasonably annoyed that the Upcycling Tat Fairy has visited Fallon again

WetAugust · 19/11/2014 19:39

Not at all there's lots of calamitous scenarios they could have used. A farm is a dangerous place so lots of scope for non-bovine accidents.
Oh well Tony will be able to compare his bull induced injuries with Brian's.
And we're supposed to believe that David and Ruth will sell Brookfiekd? I think not. Very stupid storyline as, if Ruth's mum is very frail, she won't karst long enough to warrant them moving oooop north

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/11/2014 19:40

ds is doing a school play with a cow as a main character. because they are all boys they have decided the cow should be a boy..... i worry about these city kids

yes jen and lil weren't particularly bothered by the baby news which is odd

PrincessFiorimonde · 19/11/2014 19:41

And why does Jennifer come across as scared of Carol, yet unable to give her a wide berth? If she really thinks "Carol might have done John in", then why didn't Jennifer just make her excuses and avoid the bridge session - or at least turn up and tip the poisoned tea in a pot plant, rather than behaving like a rabbit caught in the headlights?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 19/11/2014 19:43

I'm not sure if it's funny or cruel that Jenny is forever being dragged into the coven. Carol must be inviting her to tease because she's not really one of them. They're her mother's generation. Surprised she even accepted the invitation.

I was a little afraid that Christine might not be waking up ...

I rather liked Adam and Brian salivating over more land. Good to be reminded that Brian has land in his blood and is not just a businessman.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/11/2014 19:43

I think it's because we are supposed to think carol is fun and cool and so we are ganging up on jenny with her so she is portrayed as a 'victim' being nervous etc

BasketzatDawn · 19/11/2014 20:11

It is a bit odd for Jenny to spend the evening chez Carol when she is so stressed just now, has been at hospital all weekend with her very sick brother, AND she is clearly uncomfortable in C's company. IRL you'd want to spend an evening at home, perhaps with your feet on your own heated kitchen floor and some soda water out of your very own tap.Wink

From what I remember of Brine's brain injury all those decades ago, which is not much, it was done quite well. And the current new generation won't recall it at all. And they are the target audience!! Brine no longer having seizures and being able to drive again, many years later is quite plausible I think. I suppose where you have farmers and livestock, accidents involving them are quite common. And in between we have had the deading of John which involved machinery not cow/bull/horse. I suppose it's good they haven't given Tony a brain injury as they did it already for Chris and Adam very recently - and of course they've had no long-term effects, or so it seems. I wonder if they've had criticism of that, so this time they are trying to make Tony's accident more serious and with many long-term consequences.

WipsGlitter · 19/11/2014 20:12

Was that the first we'd heard of the baby being born or did I miss something!?

Also Brian getting all excited about buying the farm when we know it won't happen!!

GypsyFloss · 19/11/2014 20:38

I do hope that Adam has done his maths right and they can actually afford to go for Brookfield. A bankruptcy storyline there would set the cat among the pigeons!

God I hate Carol. Her arch delivery makes, in true MN fashion, my teeth itch.

GypsyFloss · 19/11/2014 20:40

Yes Wips that was the first mention of Ethan Titchynob minor. Those scripties are so busy answering our questions Grin
