Yes, I rather thought Justin was going to be a tad Nigel Havers in his heyday.

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/11/2014 19:08

I miss tiger and pusscat too.

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/11/2014 19:08

Oh no Will, don't say that.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 04/11/2014 19:09

Lots of ominous lead ups

I guess Kenton told her about the ouija board

BringYourOwnSnowman · 04/11/2014 19:12

Justin is an arse

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/11/2014 19:13

Isn't he just.

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/11/2014 19:15

Oooh a hint of Ed and Will reconciling - that truly would be a nice thing.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 04/11/2014 19:15

OMG. How dare that fool tip Adam.Angry

But Ed lives!

Shallishanti · 04/11/2014 19:15

That was rather depressing.

RocknRollNerd · 04/11/2014 19:27

Wonder if we're about to see a reversal in Grundy Brother fortunes? Will's parting shot (b'dum tish!) about Christmas seemed a bit ominous.

That was an episode of precisely fuck all I thought - who were all the people shooting and why were they talking so much about someone with an Eastern European name and some prat who could neither shoot nor navigate. They'll bore us to tears with exposition about days of yore but just drop a whole load of other people in and devote an entire episode to them... The only possible thing I can think is that they might be potential Home Farm buyers...David and Ruth vanish to Prudder, JD and Brine buy Brookfield?

I can totally see Justin as a CEO/Chairman - he had that cracked veneer of attempted charm and utter ruthless disregard for what anyone thought of what he said that works so well at that level!

Oh for the record - 41, remember Dad having TA on in the car sometimes on long journeys, listened quite a bit at University and then when I started work on long commutes - I remember John getting squished, Lucy Davis as Hayley-the-First whining in a very Brum accent about the pigs and timing a New Year's Day drive back from a house party to find out if the cow had dedded David.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 04/11/2014 19:31

I thought Justin was a stereotype

I've met quite a few 'demara capital' types and they don't all fulfil the stereotype. A few are even nice!

CuttedUpPear · 04/11/2014 19:38

What happened tonight?
I'm out of the country and can't listen!

BasketzatDawn · 04/11/2014 19:42

Surely I'm not the only listener whose ears glaze over when the posh blokes started talking? On hearing the Russian name being mentioned, my immediate thought was it was a prostitute (?or a trophy wife) they were talking about. Maybe a shot girl - thought that would be a tad inappropriate on an actual shoot. Grin Two episodes in one week with mostly har-har types. ShockIt IS going downhill. Twas nice though hearing the two brothers being almost kind to each other. As the mother of sons (who all get on well together) my heart does ache for Clarrie Love.

PetulaGordino · 04/11/2014 19:53

lol at ears glazing over

PetulaGordino · 04/11/2014 19:55

makes me think of donuts

PetulaGordino · 04/11/2014 19:55

(accidentally posted that on a feminist discussion thread. whoops)

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/11/2014 20:03

I am amazed when people say they've never felt sympathy for Will - what not even when his wife ran off with his brother and tried to take George?

toldmywrath · 04/11/2014 20:10

Thanks Mimsy chortle at rending his polyester garments in despair but finding that they are indestructible.
Thanks BYOS as well- I'll have to go back & listen again again.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 04/11/2014 20:24

I don't mind will. I've always thought he was the good boy and his brother was always favoured. I was glad when he fell on his feet career wise.

I wish they hadn't don't the whole fallout between the brothers. I wish they'd decided to do it to another family!!!

I don't get the love for ed either. He's ok but always a bit 'poor me' - he comes across as someone who things happen to rather than someone who does things.

My hope is that the brothers will reconcile and there will be a close relationship as they and their kids grow old

florencedombey · 04/11/2014 20:32

Thought that was a rubbish episode really. Too many new characters and Justin Elliott was a cardboard cutout stereotype, as BYOS said.

For the record, I'm 39. My parents always had TA on and I started listening properly when I went to university in 1995 as it reminded me of home. I can remember John getting squashed and also baby Kylie (presumably that was back when Neighbours was starting to really take off....)

BasketzatDawn · 04/11/2014 20:40

I don't dislike Will totally. I do hate his tone of voice though, and he does sound like he's spoiling for a fight (with Ed) sometimes. It is regrettable that Emmur married him as she was having doubts. And I do feel sorry for Will as the way he found out about Emma and Ed was very hurtful (or would have been had he been real). Though he was the wronged one in it all, his conduct wasn't spotless either - he was really nasty when the paternity test showed he was the father. Rubbing Ed's face in it (though not literally obvs). And he's been cruel to Ed, over money and contact with George, etc. No, not one of the really naice characters in Ambridge,

YY, they could have had full on war between David and Kenton. I know they are closer than they were, they used to be a bit distant. But they'd have had the resources to cope with the anguish. Just as they are with the relocation story. Grin

BringYourOwnSnowman · 04/11/2014 20:41

oh yes - ruth running off with kenton! brilliant

OddFodd · 04/11/2014 20:43

Two very dull episodes in a row but that was particularly dull. If they're short of funds, I'd like to hear more about the actors I know, not a whole episode filled of Justin's banker wanker mates who I couldn't give a stuff about.
