Yes we need thread title suggestions don't we?

trevortrevorslattery · 13/11/2014 15:49

Unitarian Hm that must be very frustrating.

I have experience of having to report regeneration "outputs" to public bodies and the way they were calculated was not related to reality at all. So lots of spouting off about loads of jobs being created when all they had done was to multiply one number by another (neither of which was to do with jobs). I like actual provable DATA! but there was none. It sounds like your problem is similar Sad.

I hadn't realised we were so close to the end of the thread!

unitarian · 13/11/2014 15:55

A hole in the space time vortex of Ambridge.....

seems a good starting point for a title.

cheminotte · 13/11/2014 16:07

Trevor , Unitarian , I do not work in that area at all, but am very sceptical of claims that x new supermarket or retail park will create y new jobs. No surely people only need so many clothes / so much food and it just means another branch will close sooner or later?
Will we have actuaries in the new thread title? Or something about Brookfield bidding war?

DadDadDad · 13/11/2014 16:27

We need someone else to create the new thread. I can't do it as it might be seen to conflict with my role as thread-end predictor.

Let's not panic, as 20 posts should last us an hour or two (even at excitable rates of posting). Can I propose that anyone reading now suggests a title for the next thread, and if it gets to 990 posts, the person with post 990 chooses a title and creates a thread. If Pseudo turns up, ignore this suggestion.

ppeatfruit · 13/11/2014 16:42

How about; Statistics and truths save Ambridge from a fate worse than Route B including Archers internecine aggression (we hope)…...

DadDadDad · 13/11/2014 16:48

Best I can think of:
Ready, Peggy, Go! And they're off (subject to survey and contract) - or are they?

choccyp1g · 13/11/2014 16:52

I'd just change the first letter so it is Ready Peggy....

choccyp1g · 13/11/2014 16:54

O ffs. Deady Peggy obviously

Icimoi · 13/11/2014 17:16

My nomination: Seconds out for the big Brookfield fight. Will Lynda and Jim turn it into a damp squid?

Talking of fighting -

DDD: "I think I'm looking good on that one. icimoi - you did well for a beginner on the last thread, but you need to leave these predictions to the professionals."

Oy! It may be bad taste to point this out, but I seem to remember that on the thread in question you confidently told us we were all wrong and it was going to end around 10th November.

minklundy · 13/11/2014 17:20

Ok I am controversially going to say that although the Brookfield D n R story set up is implausible, I am warming to it now the Brine and Jinny aspect has been added. Plus I suppose it does fit the archers remit of stories about farming- what happens when people sell farm, buying farms for CGT avoidance, small farms being swallowed by bigger farms, how herds are moved etc.

Thread title...will January's cat get to show it whiskers or will Peggy peg it and David n Ruth leg it, whilst Brine whines and Jim jams a spanner into the roadworks

DadDadDad · 13/11/2014 17:29

icimoi - no I didn't - I predicted it would end on the 11th! Blush Not bad taste at all - you've rumbled me: this predicting lark is as much about luck as judgement, and I was speaking firmly with tongue in cheek.

minklundy's is the wittiest suggestion so far.

DadDadDad · 13/11/2014 17:59

I'm wondering now if I've completely inhibited everyone from posting in case they end up in the 990 slot (sorry), or are you all waiting to pounce on that slot once 989 falls. Well, stop refreshing and ... GO!

footle - the elder statesman of this thread, how appropriate!Grin. Would you be so kind as to start a new thread with the title of your choosing? (See my the hour and a half).

PseudoBadger · 13/11/2014 18:05

DadDadDad · 13/11/2014 18:10

Well Pseudo - I think you should let footle choose the next thread title unless she doesn't return in the next twenty minutes. After all, it's Peggy's birthday, and footle is the oldest person to admit their age on this thread.

DadDadDad · 13/11/2014 18:11

or not Confused

PseudoBadger · 13/11/2014 18:13

Sorry I tried to get it out in quick sharp time. If Footle wishes to name the next thread after I promise to honour it.
