ppeatfruit

I've always found that the number of men having sex with women is very similar to the number of women having sex with men.

WaltzingWithBares · 05/11/2014 21:22

Still working my way through the backlog of this fast-moving thread, but for the sake of DadDadDad's data, I'm 40 and have been listening to the archers properly since 2009.

Heard it in the background all the way through childhood though as my mum was an avid listener.

Bluestocking · 05/11/2014 21:50

While I sympathise with you, PigletJohn, I think you'll find there was only one Emma whereas there were two Grundy men having sex with her, albeit (presumably) not at exactly the same time.

Simon Williams is, according to his agent's webpage, a "Playwright/Director". Which doesn't explain what he is doing popping up in TA. The whole JE/Damart Holdings thing is really tedious, why are we TA listeners supposed to be interested in a bunch of city blow-ins?

PseudoBadger · 05/11/2014 21:51

Oh goodness! PigletJohn is here, on my thread

Is it too early to propose 'full of pants' for the next thread title? It's no 'temperamental around corvids' I'm afraid.

WaltzingWithBares · 05/11/2014 21:55

Oh and the first bits I remember back in 2009 were the shit hitting the fan with Matt, Chalkie and the SFO, Greg's daughter randomly landing up in Ambridge (her name escapes me), Vickoi and Mike getting together, and Tom telling Brian where to shove his investment into the pig business and moving them back to Bridge farm.

So nothing majorly dramatic, but more subtly engaging than now.

PigletJohn · 05/11/2014 21:55

Bluestocking

Are you telling me that Emma was more promiscuous and unfaithful than the boys?

DadDadDad · 05/11/2014 22:23

This ages spreadshit is becoming an albatross around my neck. See my post from 11:34 - I don't want to know your ages for now, although don't let me stop you telling everyone else on here!

That said, one question: Is there really no one here aged more than 63?

Greg's daughter = Annette

Button girls - Molly and Tilly, children of the Borsetshire Fungi Recorder. They are livewires but have never chanced to speak near any of the microphones dotted through the village.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 05/11/2014 22:42

I think I may have got that name wrong (first, risky one) but you will get the idea.

DadDadDad · 05/11/2014 22:49

Bimodal

HWMNBN is I believe a name beginning with D who was good at carpentry but ended up destitute. I think people got fed up with his whiny excuses.

sample of MN ages - yeah, I'll just pop over to AIBU:
"am I being unreasonable to ask you all your ages?"
"Who the feck are you? I'm not telling you my age. YABU"
"But it's for my spreadsheet"
"Some creepy guy wants to put our ages in a spreadsheet? Are you a troll?"
"I'll make a bar chart using smileys"
"A bar chart, so you can drool over our bimodal distribution? I'm reporting you now..."
Grin

Tmrgl · 05/11/2014 22:51

Taking the average up I'm 53 and have been listening since uni - some 32 years!!

I'm enjoying people not RTFT (myself included) and coming on to tell dad how old they are, incurring his wrath. Ah, simple things.....

Did anyone else want expect an horrific accident at the fireworks?

DadDadDad · 05/11/2014 23:24

songbird - no wrath here, just bemusement. I'm starting to feel sorry for all these posters thinking I'm intently noting down their ages, when I've got better things to do (like posting on MN).

PrincessFiorimonde · 05/11/2014 23:32

Dadx3 Thanks for the survey results. Flowers

Just one little thing: the second part of the bimodal wotsit is the early fifties, not the 'late' fifties.

Hope that nit-picking doesn't make me sound ungrateful for all your hard work! Blush (I'm of the age where the distinction between 'early' and 'late' fifties is becoming all too important...)

cryhavoc · 05/11/2014 23:33

You mean you don't care how old I am?

channels Rooooth OOOOOOOOOOOH NOOOOOOOOO

DadDadDad · 05/11/2014 23:38

Princess - you are quite right, early fifties it is.

cryhavoc - I wouldn't let it worry you too much. My day job is actuary, which means the first thing I think of when someone tells me their age is I can work how many more years you can expect to live. (But don't ask: I'm all out of calculations, and it would just be depressing for you.)

CuttedUpPear · 05/11/2014 23:40

Well that must be the first time I've ever seen a RTFT on an Archers thread!

The plus side is that it's thrilling to see all these lurkers popping their heads above the parapet to give their ages. also swoons at PigletJohn

But can I please ask someone to take pity on me? I can't listen this week and have asked twice for a synopsis - all I know is that there was a boring shoot episode with business type blow-ins.
I'm missing my Archers Sad

PetulaGordino · 05/11/2014 23:43

i actually listened tonight but can't remember what happened for the life of me

DadDadDad · 05/11/2014 23:43

Cutted - don't you just go here when you need a quick catch-up of storylines: www.lowfield.co.uk/archers/thisweek.phtml

DadDadDad · 05/11/2014 23:49

Petula - today's date might remind you of some of what happens. Otherwise, it sounds like Tony was giving out relationship advice to Johnny.

I gleaned all this without hearing the episode - it's all in the link I just posted.

mummytime · 05/11/2014 23:58

Not much happened tonight. Johnny was stood up by Melanie, given advice by Tony, and by the end was under a tree with some girls including ...? (I think Phoebe).
There were fireworks in Jubilee field, not the Village Green (Kenton moaned).
Linda is doing Blythe Spirit and has just asked people to be various parts, including Susan as ? (a maid I think). I don't know the play so am not sure of the significance.
We heard Robert.
